I love this dog so much, I have recently gone through a divorce and work too much to give him the love, care, and attention he needs. Sweetest boy in the world but needs a lot of attention- great for family or someone home all the time as he is loving and needs more companionship than I can give.

Story
Hello, meet Benito aka Bubba:) Benito is a 4 year old, more or less Labradoodle and Wirehaired Pointer. He was found with his hair so tangled that we had to give him a very short hair cut. Accidently the groomer at that event who did his hair cut; his ears accidently because the ears were so damaged by the hair. So he is missing a small piece on both ears. He is very calm; not a barker, if you put him in crate is like he doesn't exist. He is such a good boy, very easy going - gets along with all dogs - not sure about cats as we have not fostered him around cats. He loves to go for walks and loves car rides:) He is very submissive - not aggressive that all. He is being fostered with other 20 dogs, of all sizes and ages:) He will give you a hand shake - well a paw shake:) He will make a wonderful addition to any family or a solo person who loves a calm dog. Benito is a survivor of Distemper - this means he will never get the disease again and he can life up to 15 years old of life as some of our survivors have done:) Are you ready to give him a forever home? Story
Adoption Event: Please let us know if you want this beauty to be at our semi-monthly adoption event by texting us at 619-576-0747 Our sweet Dalila is a female 50 pounds rescued girl, who loves to run and play fetch!! . Dalila is an ideal medium size, has a nice coat, low shedding and semi-hypoallergenic as she is a mixed of Labradoodle and German Shorthaired Pointer and Border Terrier. Hard to find a medium to large size low shedding-hypoallernic rescued pets due that the majority are small breeds:) She will be ideal for any family. However, an active family will be ideal for her sweet and playful temperament. She is good with people and children, and currently being fostered with another 18 dogs:) She will need basic training such as basic commands and to be leashed trained as she has been at the sanctuary running free but goes to a crate in the evenings to sleep - therefore, she is crate trained as well :) Not sure about how she is with cats but she is a pup still and trainable. Are you ready to give her a forever home? Please text at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofus@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . Story
If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, affectionate, calm and loving dog that is already housetrained and non-destructive when left alone, and leash trained, the Gigi is your girl. She was dumped at the shelter pregnant and gave birth there to 6 beautiful, healthy puppies. She was a wonderful, calm, and loving mom. All of her babies have been adopted, and now it is her turn for a little TLC. Gigi is an approximately 3-5 year old Pit Bull mix weighing 75 lbs. She put on a bit of extra weight with all the yummy puppy food she got while nursing, but is working hard to trim back down. While in her foster home, Gigi peacefully co-existed with a senior cat, but she has not been housed with other dogs except her puppies. Gigi's adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, microchip and current vaccinations. To fill out an adoption application, visit https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSP-A-1683. Story
How this pet arrived: Alexus was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on March 7, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Alexus! Alexus is a gentle, soft-hearted girl who is just starting to show her personality. She's curious and sweet, but likes to take her time to feel comfortable. Once she warms up, she loves playing fetch and then will cuddle up beside you for petting and attention. Alexus would do best in a home that's on the calmer side so she can settle in and keep blossoming, and would enjoy it best without other canine companions (but she has done well meeting gentle dog friends outside the home). She's looking for a household that enjoys a relaxed vibe and will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable and show off her sweet side. If there are kids in the home, Alexus would do best with children 10 and older who can understand her space and cheer her on as she grows more confident. She's currently working on her leash skills, so a home with a yard for easy potty breaks would be perfect while she keeps practicing her walking adventures. Alexus is the kind of pup who quietly works her way into your daily routine. Give her a little patience and encouragement and you'll get to watch her confidence grow more and more each day! At SDHS:Alexus has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Alexus requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Rust Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 38.6 Age: 1yrs 9mths 2wks
