Story
I am looking to rehome Monty to a loving family that will be able to give him lots of love and attention! Monty is 4 years old (soon to be 5 in July) and joined our family as a puppy in August 2019. He is neutered and microchipped with shots of up to date. He currently has access to a doggy door and is potty trained. He often has skin/ear issues and visits a dermatologist veterinarian for monthly cytopoint (allergy) shots. He is also a special diet and eats solely the "Purina Pro Plan HA Hydrolyzed Dry Dog". He is one of two dogs and gets along well with our second dog. Monty has never bitten a dog, but he does bark at other dogs while on walks. He has also growled at my toddler but has never bitten my kids. Monty enjoys car rides and being around people. Monty is very loving, sweet and loyal and likes to give lots of kisses. Looking for a new home for him that will be able to sustain his allergy shots along with attention. For questions please call/text me at (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Story
Hello, meet Benito aka Bubba:) Benito is a 4 year old, more or less Labradoodle and Wirehaired Pointer. He was found with his hair so tangled that we had to give him a very short hair cut. Accidently the groomer at that event who did his hair cut; his ears accidently because the ears were so damaged by the hair. So he is missing a small piece on both ears. He is very calm; not a barker, if you put him in crate is like he doesn't exist. He is such a good boy, very easy going - gets along with all dogs - not sure about cats as we have not fostered him around cats. He loves to go for walks and loves car rides:) He is very submissive - not aggressive that all. He is being fostered with other 20 dogs, of all sizes and ages:) He will give you a hand shake - well a paw shake:) He will make a wonderful addition to any family or a solo person who loves a calm dog. Benito is a survivor of Distemper - this means he will never get the disease again and he can life up to 15 years old of life as some of our survivors have done:) Are you ready to give him a forever home? Story
Adoption Event: Please let us know if you want this beauty to be at our semi-monthly adoption event by texting us at 619-576-0747 Our sweet Dalila is a female 50 pounds rescued girl, who loves to run and play fetch!! . Dalila is an ideal medium size, has a nice coat, low shedding and semi-hypoallergenic as she is a mixed of Labradoodle and German Shorthaired Pointer and Border Terrier. Hard to find a medium to large size low shedding-hypoallernic rescued pets due that the majority are small breeds:) She will be ideal for any family. However, an active family will be ideal for her sweet and playful temperament. She is good with people and children, and currently being fostered with another 18 dogs:) She will need basic training such as basic commands and to be leashed trained as she has been at the sanctuary running free but goes to a crate in the evenings to sleep - therefore, she is crate trained as well :) Not sure about how she is with cats but she is a pup still and trainable. Are you ready to give her a forever home? ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Jacks! Jacks is a 13 pound, 6 year old, hypoallergenic Poodle / Maltese mix. Jacks has a bite history and will need an experienced owner who is willing to work with him to build trust. Jacks has been patiently waiting for his forever home since his rescue from the local shelter in April 2022.    He is very loving and affectionate and loves to kiss and nibble noses, ears, and mouths if given the chance. He loves sitting right on your lap, snuggling as close as possible to you. He loves to be touching you, but doesn't love to be touched BY you. He is not a dog that likes touching or petting and will react out of fear and bite hands if provoked. We do not recommend he be around children or people who are unable to understand not to touch him. Don't mistake his fear for aggression, he has never gone after anyone for no reason. All bites were the result of being approached by hands (even with the best intentions). Despite his fear of hands, he does quite well in first encounters with strangers and has never bitten a stranger or the vet.    Jacks is extremely smart, he learned to use "Hunger For Words" talking buttons very quickly to communicate his basic needs such as "dinner", "outside", "play", and "water". He considers his crate as his safe space, where he can go when he's feeling overwhelmed. He walks very well on a leash and can walk at heel. He does great on walks and doesn't react to other dogs, cats, or humans even in busy/loud places. Jacks is very calm and well behaved during the day while his foster parents are working from home, mostly sleeping with a few potty breaks. However, he can be very vocal when he's ready for his evening walk or play time, or when his favorite person leaves the room. He does not like to be left alone and bonds very quickly.    Jacks is very playful and active. He loves to run, hike, and walk. He can go far distances at a fast pace. He does best behaviorally when he gets at least a 30 minute walk per day, although we recommend even more activity if possible. He loves to play with toys including antlers, plush squeaky toys, and other chew toys. He is somewhat treat-motivated and loves going through his tricks such as sit, shake, high five, hold hands, up, lay down, roll over, and even going "over" and "under" hurdles.    Jacks currently lives in a foster home with 2 other dogs. He is very submissive to other pets and has never bitten another animal. He is potty trained, but he may mark in an environment with other dogs if there is a smell of past pee.    He takes anti-anxiety medication Trazodone daily for his anxiety. Plan on getting Jacks groomed every 6-8 weeks. He has a special sedating medicine that can be used, and we can recommend a groomer in San Diego who is familiar with his needs.    With a lot of love and dedication, Jack will make the perfect dog for the right family. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  May 13, 2024, 9:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Friendly, Affectionate, Loyal, Gentle, Playful, SmartMy name is Guerra and I hope to quickly become the best part of your life. I am a female yellow lab mix with a lovely coat and an even better disposition. I'm 2.5 years old and weigh about 30lbs, the perfect medium sized dog for your home. I was found by some very kind people at a local landfill, nursing two different litters of puppies. They have since gone north to get adopted, and now I'm waiting for my chance too. Although I had a rough start in life, I am the sweetest girl and have such a zest for living. I am currently residing in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, but my foster family can arrange a video meet and greet, and I can be transported to pretty much anywhere on the West Coast to be your dog. I will come to you fully vaccinated, sterilized and healthy. I'm a really special girl ready for her forever home. Wouldn't you like to meet and see if we are a match?
