Story
Meet Chiquita Chiquita is a gentle 10-year-old, 12 lb poodle–schnauzer mix with the sweetest heart. Her world was recently turned upside down when her beloved owner passed away. Through all the changes, Chiquita has shown nothing but love and a longing to be close to people. She adores cuddling, curling up in laps, and simply being near those who care for her. Chiquita has spent most of her life outdoors, so she isn’t fully housebroken yet—but she is eager to learn with patience and kindness. She currently lives peacefully with two other dogs and would do well in a home with furry companions or as the center of someone’s attention. This little soul has so much love left to give. All she needs is a safe, gentle place to call home and a family who will cherish her for the rest of her days. Will you open your heart to Chiquita and give her the second chance she so deeply deserves? If interested in meeting this sweet girl please reach out to her foster: Marta (650)740-0816 martalevison@gmail.comMarch 8, 2026, 8:45 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Foster or Forever Home Wanted: Meet Molly!  Molly is a 2-year-old deaf doodle looking for a home where she can finally find stability, guidance, and the training she deserves. Being deaf doesn’t make Molly untrainable—it just means she’ll learn a little differently. Deaf dogs thrive with visual cues, consistency, and patient leadership, and Molly is smart enough to catch on quickly. This girl is sweet, curious, and full of personality. She’s already potty trained, crate trained, people-friendly, and dog-friendly with both big and small dogs. Molly loves to play and explore, and she’s always ready for fun. Like many young doodles, Molly can get a little mouthy when she’s overstimulated, so we recommend a home without young children. She’ll benefit from continued training, structure, and supervision—because if left to her own devices, she may decide your belongings are fair game. Think of her as a happy toddler, living in her own joyful (and silent!) little world. With the right home willing to invest time in her training and communication, Molly has the potential to be an incredible companion.  If you can foster or adopt Molly, please fill out an application at www.labradorsandfriends.org. She’s ready for a fresh start and a family who will help her shine. Molly is located in Southern California.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 16, 2026, 1:17 pm

Herman is a 6-year-old, 30-lb poodle mix with a playful spirit and a loyal heart. He is potty trained and would thrive in a home with easy outdoor access or a doggy door. Herman enjoys going for walks, playing with his toys, a good game of fetch, and tagging along for car rides. Herman had a difficult start in life and will need a patient, understanding adopter who will give him the time he needs to build trust. Because of his past, he can be reactive when there are a lot of dogs or people around, but he responds well to guidance and will benefit from continued training with an experienced handler. Once Herman feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves being part of the family. Herman would do best as the only dog in a quiet, adult-only home where he can feel secure and continue building confidence. If you’re looking for a loyal and low shedding companion and are willing to give Herman the patience and love he deserves, he will reward you with endless devotion. Herman is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Meet Spike!  Spike is a 7 year old, 20ish pound Maltese/poodle mix.  Spike is a timid yet incredibly sweet boy who quickly becomes your shadow once he warms up to you. He has never shown aggression, even when scared, and is a total lover of people. While he may take a few minutes to feel comfortable, once he does, he wants to be wherever you are—whether it’s cuddling on the couch, following you outside while you garden, or rolling over for belly rubs. He is gentle, affectionate, and loving with everyone he meets. He can be timid around new people, especially men, but warms up quickly with patience. Spike is not very interested in playing with other dogs, but he peacefully coexists with both large and small dogs. He loves children and has been very gentle with an 18-month-old toddler. Spike is fully potty trained and sleeps through the night. He is crate trained and comfortable being crated, though he’d much rather cuddle with his humans. He is learning leash skills and would benefit from a patient owner who can help him feel safe while exploring. He is low to medium energy, and two walks a day are plenty. He enjoys lounging outdoors while you work in the yard and is great in the car, settling quickly on the seat or in the footwell. Spike is currently a little overweight—about 5 to 10 pounds over his ideal weight—and is on a diet to help him get back to a healthy weight. He also has moderate seasonal allergies, mostly shown as itchy paws, and is still figuring out the best way to manage them. Spike is looking for a patient, loving home where he can continue to grow in confidence and shower his humans with cuddles and affection. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will adore you endlessly, Spike might just be your perfect match! Soike is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines.
