What you see is what you get here, and what you get is a gorgeous boy with the perfect side of goofy! His name is Jet Jethro, his friends call him Jetty, and he will pull you in with those soulful eyes and mohawk hair, then immediately show you his goofy side and it is basically a 1-2 combo that never fails. We don’t have a clue what his breed is (or his birthday) given he is a rescue, but we’re putting our money on some kind of boutique doodle/ lab/ setter mix. You can decide for yourself. The fur, the strong face, the long lines, whatever he is, I am in love. The cherry on top is that very honest sparkle of joy you can see in his eyes the moment you meet him. He loves people and loves to give kisses. Jet is affectionate to his core and absolutely people-oriented. He knows no strangers and treats every new human like a long-lost friend he is beyond thrilled to see. When meeting people, he leans in hard, hands out kisses freely, and will roll onto his back at the first sign of a belly rub possibility. The invitation to love stands with Jet. If there’s a room full of people, Jet will politely rotate through them all, making sure no one feels left out. He settles nicely indoors, but if there’s movement nearby, he’s up and ready to see if he can help or if by chance, affection is being handed out. On leash, Jet is still practicing containing all that joy. In other words, his leash skills are a work in progress. He’s happy and curious, and just gets mixed up in where he wants to be going, from lovingly by your side to leader of the adventure. He responds so well to guidance and he is a fast learner, but will need consistent practice and a dog-savvy person willing to help him keep his rhythm. Once that clicks, he is a dream adventure buddy. Dog-wise, Jet did wonderfully. He meets other dogs politely on leash and hasn’t shown any pulling or frustration. Once leashes are dropped, he roams calmly with the group, coexisting easily. He hasn’t shown us a particularly playful side yet, but we can see that changing once he settles into the rhythm and makes a connection with a playful friend. Jet would do well with a medium-energy dog companion who enjoys some movement and play but won’t overwhelm him in an attempt to get him to play. Jet is a no-cat guy. His interest when he met our house cat was a bit too strong, and given his size, if he were to chase a house cat, he would cause some chaos. Jet will do best with an active person or household that enjoys movement, visitors, and connection. A busy home with people coming and going would suit him beautifully. Apartment living could be a possibility for the right adopter committed to daily exercise, continued leash training, and mental enrichment. More than anything, Jet needs someone who understands young, goofy dogs and can help him learn all about the big-wide world. OTHER PETS: Max hasn't seemed to enjoy the company of other dogs very much during his stay at TJO, but he doesn't mind as long as they're just passing by. He would likely be happiest as the only pet in the home, where he can feel safe and secure without the stress of animal interactions. [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. Max arrived at TJO with some medical concerns regarding the condition of his skin, and will likely do best with someone that has an established relationship with a vet. Currently his skin is looking much better, though it's still unclear what the main cause of the allergy was. [Some Experience]KIDS: While Max hasn't demonstrated any signs of resource guarding while at TJO, he tends to gently investigate things with his mouth first, and as an older dog can be sensitive to rough handling. He would likely do best in a home with older kids that can understand how to interact with him and when to let him have his own space. [15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL:Max may be older, but he's still got plenty of spring in his step! He absolutely loves playing with toys--though he doesn't always bring them back--and would love the opportunity to just lay out in the grass on a warm, sunny day. A combination or regular/appropriate exercise combined with mental enrichment will help fully meet his needs. [Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: As an older dog, Max will likely need more frequent vet appointments to ensure that he continues to age gracefully. 2 lab sisters Bear (green collar) and Honey (pink collar). Born on 1/22/2025 from 2 pure bred chocolate labs, just couldn’t find dad’s paperwork. Their dad is my mother’s dog. They were recently given back to us by a family member who can no longer care for them. I’ve had them for the past 2 months, but I keep a very busy schedule and can’t care for them as they should be. They had their puppy shots and everything, but unsure if they had their 1 year shots. Would highly prefer to keep them together as they’ve been together since birth, but willing to separate. They’re both high energy and love to run outside together and play. Both play fetch and would be a great addition to any home. Feel free to reach out, so long as you’re educated / experienced with dogs. They ideally need to be exercised daily, very high energy and smart dogs. Want them to go to a good home. Thor is a friendly, outgoing puppy who enjoys meeting new people and dogs just as much as he does exploring with his nose. While he is not capable of wielding Mjölnir like a human due to his lack of opposable thumbs, this good boy would definitely be able to pick it up in his mouth and trot around with it like the world's most dangerous squeaky toy.OTHER PETS: Thor greeted similar sized dogs appropriately. He would likely get along with most other social dogs but he could be intimidating to smaller dogs simply because he is a larger boy. Thor should meet any dogs he would be living with prior to adoption.[Likely (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. Thor has likely had limited opportunities to learn new skills; he would do best with humans who are committed to using positive reinforcement and understand that puppies need patience, happy experiences, and time. [Some Experience] KIDS: Thor is comfortable with most handling, playful with humans and has not engaged in resource guarding while at TJO. He is enjoys play, but as a normal puppy sometimes gets jumpy when excited - since Thor is still young, excitable, and learning about the world around him, he may knock over smaller humans unintentionally while playing.[13+ / dog savvy (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Thor is a playful dog who gets excited but does settle well. He enjoys playing with toys and humans, and is learning loose-leash walking.
