Story
Echo is a special pup. She is a little over two years old, loving, independent and very food and toy driven. When Echo is comfortable with someone; she loves hugs, karaoke (she can sing and howl all day long), and long runs. I got Echo from a family member who needed a home for her asap due to being rejected by her parents; she came home with me at six weeks old. She is reactive and not well leash trained. She is house trained and obedience trained, responds to some hand signals and was trained mostly in German and English. Echo needs a consistent and patient household with someone experienced in reactivity that will love her in the long term and give her a strong forever home.

Story
Meet Rufus, the Gentle Giant ❤️🐾 Rufus is a sweet, affectionate gentleman with a lot of love to give—and a few more playful tricks up his sleeve than you might expect from an older guy! He LOVES his Kong tennis balls and is a fetch master. He also enjoys strolling through the woods, sniffing around, and doing a little digging when the mood strikes. Rufus gets along with dogs, but he would probably be happiest in a quieter home without a young, boisterous, or overly energetic dog or kids constantly wanting to play. A calm canine companion—or being the only dog—would allow him to relax and enjoy the easygoing life he deserves. He also enjoys cats and has shown that he can be wonderfully respectful of small animals; his foster family's free-roaming house bunnies barely registered on his radar! Despite his size and strength, Rufus is a true gentleman on leash. He does have a natural pull, but he listens well and is surprisingly easy to handle—even his foster's 7-year-old son was able to walk him without any trouble. Rufus can be a little possessive of his water bowl and may growl if another dog approaches while he’s drinking. His new family should be prepared to manage food and water separately and give him his own space around meals and water. Because of this, a home with kids over 13 would be best. Don't let his age fool you—Rufus still has plenty of personality, enjoys his adventures, and absolutely loves being around his people. He's the kind of guy who can enjoy a good game of fetch, take a leisurely woodland stroll, and then settle in for some well-earned cozy time. Rufus would thrive with someone who appreciates a calmer pace but still wants a companion for walks, sniffing adventures, and the occasional rousing game of fetch. Give this handsome gentleman a little space around his resources and a lot of love, and he'll happily return the favor. ❤️ If you are interested in finding out more about Rufus, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Rufus is being fostered in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $225. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Raven — a 2-year-old, 60-pound Labrador Retriever who runs on joy, enthusiasm, and absolutely zero spatial awareness. 🐾😂 Raven is wonderful with her foster mom’s kids and has a heart as big as her personality. She is deeply, passionately, and unapologetically obsessed with toys. Stuffed, squeaky, bouncy — if it exists, Raven wants it in her mouth immediately. Now, a fair warning: Raven does not fully grasp that she is a medium-sized dog with actual mass. When she jumps onto the couch, she does so with the confidence of a puppy and the momentum of a bowling ball. She doesn’t guard her toys at all — she just grabs them enthusiastically, occasionally forgetting that human hands and legs are attached to the process. No malice, just pure Labrador enthusiasm. Because of her “full-contact play style,” Raven would be best with older kids who can laugh, dodge, and appreciate her lovable clumsiness. Raven is sweet, playful, and endlessly entertaining — the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily and keep life interesting. If you’re looking for a happy, toy-loving, slightly uncoordinated best friend who lives life at full speed, Raven is ready to cannonball straight into your heart (and possibly onto your couch). 🐶💥❤️ If you are interested in finding out more about Raven, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Raven is currently in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Story
Vakita is an 9-month-old Labrador mix who's currently about 27 pounds of puppy sweetness and growing. This adorable girl is the total package: sweet, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love. She may take a minute to warm up to new people, so slow introductions are best, but once she decides you're a friend, she'll happily stick close by your side—Velcro-close. She loves being with her people, but she's also mature enough to relax when left alone and doesn't fall apart when you're out of sight. For a young puppy, Vakita has some pretty impressive credentials. She loves kids, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is good with cats too. Basically, her philosophy is, "Why not be friends with everyone?" That said, she can be leash-reactive when she sees other dogs, so she'll benefit from continued training and positive, controlled introductions while out on walks. She's currently working on potty training and is making great progress every day. Vakita does well in her crate and settles in nicely when you're away. If you're home, though, she'd much rather be hanging out with her favorite people than watching the fun from behind crate bars. Like any puppy, she's still learning the rules, but she's doing wonderfully. Even better? She hasn't been destructive. When she's not learning new things, Vakita's favorite activities include cuddling, hanging out with her people, and being generally adorable. She's the kind of puppy who can play when it's time to play, then happily curl up beside you when it's time to relax. If you're looking for a sweet, family-friendly puppy with a loving personality, a gentle heart, and a bright future ahead of her, Vakita is ready to pour a little extra happiness into your life. 💕🐾🥛 If you are interested in finding out more about Vakita, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Vakita is being fostered in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $600. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram!
