Story
Rhett is a happy-go-lucky Labradoodle with a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling! This sweet boy is the definition of a loyal companion—he loves to stay close to his person and quickly becomes your little shadow wherever you go. Rhett is not only adorable, but he’s also incredibly well-mannered and eager to learn. He’s crate trained, house trained, and already picking up on great habits in his foster home. He’s mastered waiting patiently for his meals (even with a wagging tail and a little scoot closer!) until he hears the magic words, “okay, go!” He’s also learned boundaries like a pro—even resisting the temptation to follow his humans everywhere by respecting off-limit spaces. This smart pup is very trainable and has already made big progress—like learning how to navigate stairs (he was a little clumsy at first, but he’s getting the hang of it!). He has great recall, walks nicely on a leash, and loves nothing more than a good game of fetch. Rhett is friendly with everyone he meets and does wonderfully with other dogs. He’s playful, affectionate, and always ready for fun, making him the perfect addition to a loving home looking for a joyful, devoted companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, and playful best friend, Rhett just might be your perfect match. 💛 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Meet Dougie, an adorable 2-year-old lab/poodle mix who is full of personality! This little guy is not only funny and goofy but also incredibly playful, making him the perfect companion for anyone who loves adventure. Dougie thrives on fun, whether it’s chasing a ball in the yard or exploring new trails on a hike. His affectionate nature shines through in his love for cuddling. After an exciting day of play, you can often find him snuggled up next to his favorite humans, soaking up all the love and attention. Dougie is fantastic with kids and has a demeanor that makes him a great playmate. Additionally, he gets along well with other dogs, and he would flourish in a home with another canine companion. While Dougie is sociable and friendly, he would thrive in a feline-free home, as his instincts may lead him to chase them. His intelligence is evident as he is already crate trained and housebroken, showing that he can quickly learn and adapt to his environment. Dougie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will bring joy, laughter, and a sense of adventure into your life, Dougie might just be the perfect match for you!

Story
Rocky is a 7 year old chocolate labradoodle who loves to play, run, fetch and cuddle. He thinks he's a baby. He is super obidient and very smart. Unfortunately, due to our busy schedule we cannot keep him. Our heart is broken to let him go, but we also know that is not fair for him to be in a house all by himself all day with only 2 hours of human interaction. Rocky will be a great addition to a family who is looking for a smart, loving dog. that is already trained and easy to take care of.

Story
Gus is a 9-year-old labradoodle mix with lots of energy and love! He’s the perfect balance of active and affectionate—happy on long walks or curled up for cuddles. Minimally shedding thanks to his labradoodle roots, he’ll need seasonal grooming/ trimming to keep his coat healthy. Gus would do best in an adult home or with teens, ideally with a securely fenced yard to explore safely. He’s very food-motivated, though a bit protective of his food, so an experienced owner is ideal. He’s a fan of car rides, so would be best suited with a family who does not require frequent travel. Gus is loyal, loving, and ready to bring joy to the right home.

Story
Meet Raven — a 2-year-old, 60-pound Labrador Retriever who runs on joy, enthusiasm, and absolutely zero spatial awareness. 🐾😂 Raven is wonderful with her foster mom’s kids and has a heart as big as her personality. She is deeply, passionately, and unapologetically obsessed with toys. Stuffed, squeaky, bouncy — if it exists, Raven wants it in her mouth immediately. Now, a fair warning: Raven does not fully grasp that she is a medium-sized dog with actual mass. When she jumps onto the couch, she does so with the confidence of a puppy and the momentum of a bowling ball. She doesn’t guard her toys at all — she just grabs them enthusiastically, occasionally forgetting that human hands and legs are attached to the process. No malice, just pure Labrador enthusiasm. Because of her “full-contact play style,” Raven would be best with older kids who can laugh, dodge, and appreciate her lovable clumsiness. Raven is sweet, playful, and endlessly entertaining — the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily and keep life interesting. If you’re looking for a happy, toy-loving, slightly uncoordinated best friend who lives life at full speed, Raven is ready to cannonball straight into your heart (and possibly onto your couch). 🐶💥❤️ If you are interested in finding out more about Raven, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Raven is currently in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Nia: tiny, fluffy perfection with a PhD in being delightful 💁‍♀️🐾 Nia is a 4-year-old Poodle mix weighing in at a very portable 13.8 pounds—basically the ideal size for laps, couches, and being carried around like the little queen she is. Her personality? Sweet. Like, ridiculously sweet. The kind of dog who makes you wonder how you ever lived without her. She’s gentle, friendly, and just an all-around “good girl” in the way that makes life easier and happier. Nia gets along great with other dogs and would happily coexist or make friends, depending on the vibe. She’s the kind of pup who fits in wherever she goes—low drama, high charm. Story
Meet Leonard, a 1.5 year old Labrador Retriever with a big, silly heart and an even bigger zest for life. This happy, energetic guy has already had three homes, and we are committed to finding him the right match where he can finally settle in for good.Leonard is full of playful, people loving energy and thrives with activity. He would do best with adopters who enjoy getting outside a bunch, staying active, and engaging their dog both physically and mentally. He loves other dogs and would be happiest with a canine companion who can match his rough and tumble play style. Leonard`s new family should have a yard and access to plenty of walks, run, and play.Leonard is a strong, busy boy who is still learning his manners. He enjoys kids, but his enthusiasm and determined need to interact has caused him to knock over kids, so a home with older teens or just adults would be the best fit.He is currently on medication to help manage his hyperactivity and is doing well with structure and routine. Leonard is eager to please and ready to build a bond with someone who understands his energy and can guide him, and appreciate him for who he is.If you are looking for a fun, VERY ACTIVE, and loyal companion, Leonard may be your guy.If you are interested in adopting Leonard, please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during our walk in hours of 12-4pm. If you are unable to come during those times, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to see what times may be available by appointment.
