🐾 ADOPTABLE: Jack the Labradoodle 🐾 Meet Jack, a 3-year-old Labradoodle with brains, bounce, and a whole lot of love to give! 💛 This sweet boy has been professionally evaluated by our trainer and is ready to find a home where he can thrive. 🎾 Jack's Quick Stats: ✔️ Smart, eager to please, and quick to pick up routines ✔️ Energetic and playful outdoors, but relaxed and calm indoors ✔️ Loves people — he wants to be near you, but happily snoozes in his own bed ✔️ Great with other dogs who enjoy a little playtime chaos ✔️ Would do best with an active individual or family (especially one with kids!) While Jack’s done surprisingly well in a small living space, he’d love a home with a yard to zoom around in. He’s still working on some boundary setting (typical doodle energy!), but his temperament is sweet and affectionate — he just wants to be your best buddy. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Story
adoption donation : $499 weight  40 lbs  Age 8 months as of 5/17        Charlotte is sweet  and gentle girl who is shy at first but then warms up and will be your best friend and companion. She and her siblings were dumped at a gas station in a rural part of Mississippi, they were starving when the Wags director  found them and took them in to the rescue. They were nursed them back to health and given the vet care they needed  and are now ready for loving homes of their own.       Charlotte is all tail wags and wiggles and loves to cuddle, she likes toys and bones and gets along with all the dogs at the rescue.  She  is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher course while she adjusts to a new home. Charlotte occasionally will limp, she was taken to the vet and had x-rays and it was determined that it’s an old injury that probably feels stiff to her after she’s been sleeping. The vet does not think she is in any pain and thinks she is just fine, just will occasionally lift her back leg when she is running.    Charlotte is spayed, and up-to-date on vaccines. She is still in Mississippi, but can come up on any one of the Transports that brings the dogs to the northeast every Saturday. We are open  to a foster to adopt to make sure it’s a good fit.   We think that Charlotte would do great in a variety of situations, she would love a home with another dog to play with, she is fine if she’s left on her own, she’d love to take walks, but it’s also very chill in the house. We just think she’s a sweet, loving girl and deserves the best life after everything she’s been through.      Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting Charlotte  or any of our many Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    May 14, 2025, 7:57 am

Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 40 lbs  Age 6 months         Bojangles is just a joy and has the best ears ever! This gentle boy is super friendly, he loves everyone he meets and he’s great with other dogs and cats. He’s just a loving and friendly very good boy!   Not long ago Bo wandered up to the front porch of a home in rural Mississippi all alone, scared and hungry,  but his tail never stopped wagging. Sadly in Mississippi dumping puppies is very common. But Bo was a lucky pup, the family took him and cared for him and then called Wags to help. Bo has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is currently in Mississippi, but we are hoping to send him to the northeast on one of the transports that leaves every Friday from Tupelo.      Bo is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as he adjusts to a new home. He loves balls and splashing in the water. This wiggly, kissy face boy with those awesome  ears ever will make a wonderful member of the family.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 200 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    May 18, 2025, 6:51 pm
