Story
Charlotte is a wonderfully playful young girl. She is enthusiastic and enjoys meeting other dogs. Charlotte easily makes friends with the people she meets. She is looking for someone that can teach her to play fetch. Charlotte loves toys and loves to play, but if you don't have a toy she will play with your hands. We try not to encourage that here at the shelter. Charlotte is a fast learner and since all she wants is for you to play with her, she catches on quickly putting the toy in her mouth rather than your hands. If you are viewing this dog's profile on Adopt-a-Pet and are interested in adopting, please head to our official website at www.worcesterarl.org to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry Form, which will be located under the dog's profile.

Story
Beautiful Hope is looking for a physically active home where she can run, play and do all the things that active big dogs do. Hope is super enthusiastic, and can't wait for a fresh start with adopters who can help her learn some new tricks. Hope would like to live as an only dog, as she can get intense with new dogs, but could probably tolerate being around other dogs in social settings where she doesn't have to encounter lots of casual up close meets. We have no history of Hope living with other dogs. Hope admits to being a jumper, but it is because she is super social with people and just hasn't learned a better way to get attention. We have no history of Hope living with cats, and she is looking for a home with teens and up because she can get big zoomies, and could knock down young ones. She would be a great candidate to learn better ways of interacting with people as she is so grateful for attention, and super eager to make people happy. If you are interested in adopting Hope, please head to our website worcesterarl.org and click on Hope's photo to fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form. That is the first step. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
Bandit came to WARL initially after his heartbroken owner needed to move unexpectedly. Bandit was very close with his first owner and it was hard on both of them, but she knew it was best for him. Bandit can be shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take long before he is jumping up to hug you and offering you his paw. Bandit is very smart boy who knows all of his basic commands. He would need to be the only dog in the home, and is not up to dog park kind of play. Bandit does not want to be around children at all - he does not have any patience for them. Bandit was returned to the shelter for not doing well with kids after his initial adoption. After getting exercise he enjoys lounging on the couch in front of the TV. Bandit has been taught to ring a bell that hangs on the door when he needs to go to the bathroom. True to a lab, Bandit enjoys visiting lakes and beaches. If you are interested in adopting Bandit, please head to our website worcesterarl.org and click on Bandit's photo. Please complete the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form to request a meet with him. That is the first step! All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Supporters and Recurring Giving Donors will be put on our VIP Application List &#226&#128&#139 Adoption Costs and other important information. If you are interested in adopting from Sterling Animal Shelter, please submit an application through our "Pets for Adoption" page.  We are still closed to the public, and all adoptions will be scheduled by appointment only. Our appointments are scheduled by matching our applications to our available pets. If your application is chosen, our staff will contact you to set an appointment for a meet and greet to spend some time with the animal one-on-one. We do still have same day adoptions, and if your meet and is successful, you can take your pet home at the time of your appointment.  To find the best match for each pet, we prefer to have the entire family present when doing an adoption. If you have a dog at home already, please be prepared to bring your resident dog to meet a potential new dog, to ensure all parties get along. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet. **Eldred is a Courtesy Posting for Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue and is not located at Baypath Humane Society. To apply for him, please contact Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue by emailing adoption@ygrr.org** Hi there! I'm Eldred, but my nick name here is Little Bear. I am a very sweet, energetic boy, filled with so much love to share! I came from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, and boy am I happy to have met my Yankee family! I have enjoyed my time with my friends here both 2-legged and 4, but I would love to find a family of my own. I have shown everyone here how smart I am, and I would love to show and continue my training with my forever family. I'll show you how nicely I sit if you provide the yummy treats. My FAVORITE things are car rides and hiking. I would love to find a family that would enjoy these activities with me! I have never lived in a home with another dog before, but I have made many well matched friends here! Friends that I hike with, and friends that I could play all day with outside! If you're a furry friend that would enjoy a playful, spunky, little brother... I would be the best! I would thrive in a home with an active lifestyle, where we can explore trails, and continue to help me be the best boy I can be. Because I am young, and can be a bundle of energy, if my forever family and home had children around that it would be best if they are older or "sturdy enough to handle my playfulness. Let's be best friends! I will be here patiently awaiting your arrival
