He came to us on March 14th after his previous breeder ceased operations, and he has spent the last few weeks settling into the "retired life" with grace. At a portable 17.6 lbs, Buster is the perfect size for lap snuggles and easy strolls. He is now fully vetted, including a much-needed dental, so he’s feeling fresh and ready for his forever home! What to expect when adopting a senior Mini Labradoodle like Buster: The "Chill" Factor: While younger doodles can be high-energy, seniors like Buster usually prefer a cozy bed and a calm environment. He’s past the puppy chewing phase and appreciates the finer things in life—like naps. Low-Shedding Grooming: He still has that beautiful curly coat, which means he’ll need regular brushing and professional grooming every 6–8 weeks to keep him looking sharp. Health & Wellness: Senior small breeds often live well into their teens. Keeping up with his dental health and maintaining a healthy weight will be key to keeping him spry. A Soulful Bond: There is something incredibly special about the gratitude of a senior dog. This sweet girl came to us when her previous owner could no longer keep her, and she arrived not feeling her best after ingesting something toxic. But true to her warrior nature, Willow bounced back in just a few days thanks to lots of love and care from our volunteers—and now she’s thriving.Willow is all about enjoying life’s little adventures. She has a medium to high energy level and loves her walks, especially when she can sniff every blade of grass and follow all the exciting scents around her. She’s playful, curious, and full of fun—always ready to brighten your day.According to her previous owner, Willow gets along well with both dogs and cats. If you already have a dog at home, a meet and greet is required to make sure everyone is a perfect match. Her compatibility with children is unknown at this time.Willow is housetrained and crate trained, and she keeps her kennel nice and tidy at the shelter. She’s a great eater and reportedly does well in the car—making her an easy companion whether you’re staying in or heading out on an adventure.Willow is already spayed and will complete the rest of her vetting (vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing) through our foster-to-adopt program. Dover enjoys his walks and may pull a bit here and there, but overall he’s a pleasant companion who just wants to be by your side. With a touch of gray on his muzzle and a heart full of sweetness, he’s proof that “young at heart” is a real thing.Dover would do best with older children, and a meet-and-greet is required for any resident dogs.
