Palmer-Labradoodle male, ~ 6 yr. (Feb. 2026) Palmer was rescued from a high kill shelter. He was adopted, but unfortunately, the family fell onto bad times and split up. All the pets were sent back to their original rescues and Palmer was warmly welcomed back by his foster home in Bourbon County Rescue. He's accepted the changes in his life but we do want him to has his very own family again. Where he can have the security and love he so longs for. Palmer is a nice medium sized dog with a lot of personality. He's an active dog, who needs an experienced owner/family with an active lifestyle to keep him mentally and physically challenged. He's a loyal dog, bonds easily to people and is a friend to all. Palmer is about 40-45#. A home without small children and cats would be best. He may be too exuberant for them. Palmer gets along well with other dogs. His adoption fee is $300 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. Andie-Labradoodle Black female puppy, ~ 5 mo. (Feb. 2026) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Andie was found as a stray. The family that took her in asked the Rescue help her to find her forever home. They tell us she's a lovely puppy, everyone's friend. She is respectful of the cats and loves their other dogs. She's moved to a foster home now and doing great, making lots of new friends and learning about house and crate training. Andie's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. Neptune arrived at the shelter after being found by a lost animal recovery team while looking for another dog. It was quite clear that there was something wrong with Neptune`s leg upon his intake. His right front leg was bent at an odd angle and caused him pain. He was radiographed and found that his leg was shattered and had gone long enough that it was healing but all wrong. We are not 100% sure how Neptune`s leg got the way it was but there was some evidence on the radiograph that showed at some point in time, he may have been shot, and it was a long time between that injury and his arrival at the shelter. Due to how bad the leg was it was determined the best course of action was to amputate his leg. Neptune underwent the amputation and has recovered well! He did test positive for a tick-borne disease called anaplasmosis but has undergone treatment for it. He is now ready to find his loving forever home! He did not take long to adjust to only having three legs, most likely due to him not using his injured leg for a very long time. He is a happy guy that loves attention and enjoys going on walks! Neptune is a true survivor and would love to be your new best friend! He must meet all family members that reside in the home. Neptune is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped.
