For nearly a year inside the shelter, no family reached out to adopt him, and he was ultimately placed on the euthanasia list. Unable to let this sweet soul perish, Adogs stepped in urgently to rescue him and bring him to safety. 3️⃣ Basic Information * With People: Eagerly approaches strangers with a happily wagging tail and enjoys deep, affectionate touch. Prefers human company over being alone and may bark out of longing when someone walks away. * With Dogs: Gets along reasonably well with dog friends. If a friend approaches too enthusiastically, he may flinch or startle at first, but quickly joins in on the fun and zoomies. Prefers making contact with dogs he gets curious about on his own, rather than dogs who approach him too pushily. Occasionally nips/presses his teeth against dogs returning from walks as a warning gesture—continued observation is underway to better understand this behavior. * With Cats: Becomes excited and tries to chase cats when he sees them, so caution is needed. * Separation Anxiety: Currently living in a group setting at our center, so individual separation anxiety cannot be fully assessed. Gentle adaptation training will be required from the start when transitioning to a home. * Potty Training: Currently does his potty business outdoors at our center. Training may be needed when transitioning to a new environment. * Hygiene: Handles brushing well, but caution is recommended not to groom for too long, as he may show warning nips when overstimulated. * Walkis: Shows zero aversion to wearing a leash or harness. Displays slight leash pulling during the initial phase of walks, but quickly settles down and frequently turns back to make eye contact with his handler. * Car Sickness: Traveled long distances (up to 2 hours) with ZERO motion sickness. * Has shown defensive/reflexive biting when subjected to actions he dislikes—such as being grabbed suddenly, held firmly by the leash when resistant to entering his kennel after outdoor playtime, or during tense initial dog-to-dog introductions. * Has demand barking tendencies. Tends to bark or express high arousal during exciting moments (e.g., coming out of a kennel after meals, when someone enters the play yard). Shows howling when no humans are around. * Is high-energy, affectionate, and cheerful. Loves jumping up playfully to show affection and adapts quickly to new environments. Sudden loud noises intimidate him, and overly pushy dogs can feel overwhelming, but his heart is full of love for his humans.

She has a nice medium energy level and enjoys both playtime and relaxing with her people. Rosé is affectionate, easygoing, and eager to be part of the family. With continued guidance, love, and consistency, she is sure to grow into an incredible lifelong companion. **Special Washington Adoption Weekend** This dog will be traveling all the way from Baja, Mexico, to Lacey, Washington, for our special adoption weekend! We expect to have more than 30 dogs available and would love to have as many of them pre-adopted—or families pre-approved—as possible before they arrive. Midna is a friendly, affectionate girl who doesn’t always show her best side while she’s in her kennel. She can be barrier reactive in the shelter, but once she’s out and about, her personality shines through. Midna loves getting outside, putting her nose to work, and taking in all the interesting smells around her. She can be a bit of a puller on leash, especially when there’s something exciting to investigate, but her enthusiasm and curiosity are part of her charm.Midna would do best in a home without cats and children, and she can be leash reactive toward other dogs. Interestingly, she is reported to do well with dogs when she’s off leash, so thoughtful introductions and the right canine match may be possible. Midna is the kind of dog who may need adopters to look past her shelter behavior and give her the chance to show them who she really is. If you’re looking for a fun, friendly companion with plenty of personality and a nose for adventure, Midna might just be your girl!The dog adoption fee is $110.
