Story
Looks like: Black Lab mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 60 pounds Buddy is a senior with a heart as big as they come. This sweet boy has spent his life being a loyal companion, and now he's looking for a gentle, loving home to spend his golden years. Buddy is the definition of low maintenance. He's perfectly content with short strolls, cozy naps, and simply being near his person. His happiest moments are the quiet ones, resting by your side, soaking up affection, and offering that calm, comforting presence only a senior dog can provide. What Buddy needs most now is a soft place to land, a peaceful home and a kind human who will cherish him and keep him company. In return, he'll offer unwavering companionship, gentle affection, and a lifetime of love wrapped into his golden years. Buddy came into rescue through no fault of his own. His devoted guardian recently moved into a nursing home and, heartbreakingly, can no longer care for him. Buddy is a little confused by all the change, but through it all, he remains incredibly sweet, trusting, and full of love to give.

Story
Looks like: Labrador Retriever mix Female, 8 years old (estimated), 69 pounds Don't let her frosted gray coat fool you, this 8 year old is pure sunshine around those she loves. A copilot extraordinaire, this trusty girl loves being a passenger princess (just don't ask her to back up the trailer.) She's a wonderful walk companion and trail guide, who takes great joy in pointing out the local flora and fauna to her companions. She took up knitting while waiting for her forever home to find her, after 731+ days at it, her scarf now qualifies for a Guinness book world record but she's holding out hope! Miss Mihla enjoys spending her time going for car rides or long walks, playing surgeon with squeaky toys, alerting her fosters about squirrels and birds that dare to cross her path, and attending training regularly to work on building up her leash manners. This lovely lady would be ideal for a home where she can be the star and not have to share your attention but she may also fit right in with a household that has a mellow dog who doesn't mind sharing the spotlight. Due to how excited we have seen her get around prey animals we suspect she may not be ideal for a household with cats. We have not seen how she is with children. The SPCA of Monterey County reached out to us for help because Mihla was becoming increasingly stressed in the shelter environment. She was a favorite among many volunteers who worked with her there, so how could we resist?

🐾 MEET JUNIPER 🐾 He came from the desert with nothing — and somehow already has everything figured out.📌 Age: ~10 weeks | Mix: Shepherd × Lab × Husky × Cattle Dog | Size: Will grow to medium-large✅ Dog Friendly | ✅ Kid Friendly | ✅ Cat FriendlyHis storySomewhere on the Navajo Nation in the Arizona desert, seven tiny puppies decided they weren't done yet. No mom. No shelter. No food or water. Just scorching heat, wide open land, and seven scrappy little souls who had absolutely no idea they were supposed to give up.One of those puppies is Juniper. And he made it.He and his 6 siblings were found abandoned on the Rez at just a few weeks old — alone together in conditions that would have broken most. But this little boy came out the other side with his dark eyes bright, his white chest puffed, and that signature head tilt that says "I see you, and I think you might be exactly what I've been looking for."Spoiler: he's right.WHO HE ISLook at him sitting on that couch like he already owns the place because, in his mind? He does! Juniper has the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from a puppy who's already been through something real and decided the world is still worth showing up for. He's dark and handsome with a white blaze on his chest, white-tipped paws that look like he got dressed up for the occasion, and a tail that curls just enough to let you know he's pleased with himself. He is going to be something. Shepherd smarts. Lab loyalty. Husky spirit. Cattle dog tenacity. All of it wrapped in a sleek dark coat with just enough white to make him look like he's wearing a tuxedo to his own adoption. He'll be the dog who learns your routine before you've even noticed he's paying attention. The one who's already waiting at the door when you grab your keys. The one your kids will grow up telling stories about. What he needsJuniper will grow into a medium-to-large dog with a working dog brain and a soul that needs a real home to pour himself into. He'll thrive with an active family, consistent training, and someone who understands that a dog this smart needs a job. Even if that job is just being your very best friend. He already survived the desert. Now he just needs someone to hand him the keys.Ready to fall in LUV? Story
Sabbath is a year old puppy dog. He is 13 months. He is very goofy, playful and very friendly to everyone he meets. He loves the dog park and making new friends. Im very sad to give him up but unfortunately I am having some health issues that I need to focus on and have not been able to give him what he needs. He's a very smart dog and needs more training, but he has the basics down. He can sit, lay down, roll over, is crate and house trained. He needs more work with stay, drop, leave it, and recall but hes getting there. He's also very active and would love someone who could get him out a few times a day to run off his energy. He loves fetch, tug of war, chewing bones and sniff walks. He also loves lots of pets and cuddles. He is a funny dog because he sleeps on his back, paws up and when he sits on the couch, he only puts his butt and hind legs on it with his 2 front paws still on the floor. Im really hoping to find someone who will love him as much as I do.

Story
Meet Finn! This handsome golden retriever came to us by way of Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he was turned in as a stray and no one came to claim him. We can’t believe he wasn’t missed because he is an extremely sweet and loving boy! Now, Finn has a lot of love to share…so much that he really doesn’t understand the concept of personal space! He really is the definition of a Velcro dog. He loves people and he can't seem to get close enough to those he likes best. He has a hard time controlling his licker and if you get too close, be prepared for a sloppy, wet kiss (or three!). In his foster home, he has proven himself to be potty trained and doesn't mind going into his crate when his foster is away from the home. He also walks extremely well on a leash and is not reactive when passing or meeting other dogs. He is a true cuddle bug and loves getting a good belly rub. We don’t know Finn’s life before he came to us, but it’s pretty clear that training was not a high priority in his former home. "Sit" seems to be about the only command that he knows - other basics like “no”, “off” and “stay” are foreign to him…which means that the first few days with this sweet boy can be a little frustrating because he is a bit of a jumper and can also get over-stimulated quickly. When you take that into consideration with the fact that he doesn't understand the words "no" or "stop", he can be a bit of a challenge. But on the positive side, these are not "bad" traits - these are all things that can be worked on through training. And his foster mom has been working with a trainer already and they have found him to be a very smart guy and fast learner. Since a majority of his "bad manners" are those that can be addressed through training, it will be an adoption requirement that his adopters register him for a basic obedience class as he will be a much better family member with some improved manners. Finn is being fostered with three canine brothers and while he has done well living with them, his foster mom says he would also thrive in a home as an only dog as he loves being the center of attention. While he will occasionally play with his canine housemates, his favorite place in the foster home is being as close as possible to his foster mom. Finn has, unfortunately, shown a high prey drive and as such, he would not do well in a home with cats or other small animals or livestock. His obsession with squirrels and other outdoor creatures, too, will require a secure yard and he should not be left unattended as he does have an adventurous nature. Interested in Finn?
