Story
This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Dog Name: Maddie G Breed: Lab Mix Sex: Female Age: 4-5 years old Weight: 67 Medical Needs: None. Housebroken: Yes. No accidents in the home or crate. Will go to the door when she needs to go out. Crate trained: Yes 100%. Good in the car: Yes. Would definitely recommend tethering her leash if you’re driving alone. Good on a leash: Yes, with the use of a prong collar. Energy level: Medium. Need a fenced in yard: No, but I’m sure we would love it. Dog Friendly: No. We are recommending her to be the only dog in the home. She does fine out in neutral places, but she doesn’t like to share her home, people or things with other pups. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Nope Cat Friendly? Yes, with slow intros with dog savvy cats. Kid Friendly: Yes If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 10 and up. She’s being fostered with a 16 year old and she absolutely loves him. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? If happiness had four legs and a wiggle butt, it would be Maddie G. This super affectionate sweetheart greets every human as her new BFF. Maddie is the perfect mix of playful goofball and professional snuggle consultant. She lives for toy time — especially stuffy or a ball. After playtime she’ll happily plop down with a Benebone for some serious chew-and-chill vibes or just snuggle up next to her person. She’s a very smart girl who genuinely wants to make her people proud. She already knows commands like sit and down, and she’s working on place. She listens well to corrections and thrives with structure and clear boundaries. Maddie G is truly an all-around good girl with a heart full of love and a deep desire to be close to her people. Her dream home? One with guidance, consistency, and humans who are ready for daily doses of joy, affection, and enthusiastic greetings. Story
Dog Name: Bear Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie Sex: Male Age: 7 Weight: 70 Medical Needs: gets seasonal (fall) allergies, takes apoquel if necessary Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes, loves his crate Good in the car: Yes Good on a leash: Yes, almost never pulls * *does show big interest in squirrels and such Energy level: mostly chill but does have a touch of puppy desire to want to play on occasion Need a fenced in yard: recommended, so he may run unhindered Dog Friendly: Did fine during the brief dog test prior to coming into rescue, but does not currently live with any other dogs. Previously lived with one other dog. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? no Cat Friendly? Yes, but wants to play with them. May take a bit to get adjusted Kid Friendly: Bear lived with children prior to coming to us. There was never a problem until he and one of the little boys (3years old) collided when playing in the yard together. It’s unclear whether Bears tooth accidentally snagged the boys face, or whether he bit him, but he came to us because of the incident. Youngest: 10+ due to his size and as a precaution due to the incident at his previous home. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 10+ due to his size and as a precaution due to the incident at his previous home. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? He takes a small bit to get adjusted, then will be very loving. Occasionally will want to play with you. Also loves to find a place to curl up and sleep. Does love to stay in crate at times as well. Be prepared to get whipped by his tail as well, as he is a happy boy. Can be vocal when looking for attention, with small barks. He craves your attention. And again, very good on staying next to you when walking. He takes direction very well! Story
Kona is a rescue from Alabama. She was abused as a pup and is still working through some fearful tendencies. She is playful and loving but does require some time to warm up to new people. With the proper training and right person Kona could compete for the best dog around. I have adored my time with her but due to unforeseen circumstances it would not be fair for Kona if I were to keep her. Ask any questions needed.

Story
"Max," he's a lover not a fighter! Only licks & smiles from this enthusiastic 11 month old Lab. He's ready to party from the break of dawn to sundown. He's a flight risk, jumping the fence is his fav game. He'll romance the socks off of you, love you & torment you at the same time. He's also auditioning for The Voice & you can hear him singing daily at 5am! He's in great health and can zoom for hours. He's ok on leash but goes nuts anytime he sees another dog. He's had a little training and can sit & a few other tricks if he's in the mood...or he might embarrass you instead! Max loves FOOD, anything gross, boinking animals that don't want to play with him & chasing cats. He considers garbage a delight! He is high energy and needs training & exercise to be a good boy. His biggest challenges are jumping the fence & chewing on furniture. He has a scar on his forehead that was there when we got him & a few others on his face that are healing from playing rough w/my GSD

Story
Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 March 1, 2026, 8:28 pm
