Story
Axel: Your Everyday Sunshine ☀️🐾 7 years old · Black Lab/Shepherd Mix · Approx. 69 lbs · Neutered Male ·Location (Shelter) ⭐ Adoption Fee: $0.00 ( generously sponsored) Meet Axel, a 7-year-old gentleman with a soft heart, a steady soul, and a smile you can count on 98 percent of the time. Axel came to us through no fault of his own after his owner was no longer able to care for him. He arrived healthy, well-mannered, and ready to make himself right at home wherever love is offered. At nearly 69 pounds, he is a solid boy, but his personality is pure gentle giant. According to his former owner, Axel did wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children. Since being with us, he has continued to show that same easygoing nature. During his photo session, all he wanted was to lean into our volunteer and soak up affection. If there is a lap nearby, Axel will politely try to fit into it. At our recent Pups and Pancakes event, Axel was an absolute star. He lounged comfortably beside our volunteers, greeted new friends with calm enthusiasm, and especially enjoyed the attention from children. He even participated in the pancake catching contest like a seasoned professional. Through it all, he remained relaxed, friendly, and happy to simply be part of the fun. Axel is treat motivated, which makes him both attentive and eager to please. He is also wonderfully tolerant of dress up days and will happily sport a bandana or festive accessory without complaint. Whether he is strolling by your side or relaxing at your feet, Axel carries himself with a quiet confidence that makes everyone around him feel at ease. Axel is a senior but with that comes the best part, a calm maturity, reliable temperament, and the kind of companionship that only a well-seasoned dog can offer. Axel’s Highlights ✔️ 7 year old Lab/Shepherd mix, approx. 69 lbs ✔️ Neutered and Microchipped ✔️ Gentle, affectionate, and easygoing ✔️ Reported to do well with dogs, cats, and children (Note from Previous Owner) ✔️ Treat motivated and eager to please ✔️ Calm presence with a constant happy expression ⭐ Sponsored Adoption Fee If you are looking for a steady companion who brings warmth, kindness, and an easy smile into every room, Axel is ready to be your sunshine. 📍 Come meet Axel at the Caroline County Humane Society 407 W. Story
✨ Bella — More Than Just a Pretty Name Bella · 3 years old · Black Labrador Retriever Mix · Approx. 58 lbs · Spayed Female · Available in Shelter “Bella” means beautiful and this girl is beautiful inside and out. 💛 If you’re looking for a dog who brings energy, personality, and a whole lot of love, Bella is ready to step into the spotlight. She’s a super friendly, happy girl who warms up quickly and absolutely lights up when she sees her favorite people. Her signature move? A full-body wiggle with those ears back in excitement. It’s her way of saying she’s very happy to see you. Bella is an active, playful dog who loves to run, zoom, and enjoy the outdoors. Give her a yard and you might just feel the breeze as she zips by. She enjoys toys, rolling around in the grass, and will happily flop over for belly rubs whenever she gets the chance. She loves her adventures just as much as her downtime. Walks, car rides, and outings are right up her alley and when it’s time to relax, she’s all about being close to her people, whether that’s leaning into you or curling up for some couch time. Yes, she absolutely thinks she’s a lap dog. Bella is also a smart, treat-motivated girl who enjoys learning. She already knows how to give paw and might even offer a double paw if she’s feeling extra proud of herself. Bella was adopted and later returned to the shelter because her energy level wasn’t the right match for her previous home. She lived in an apartment setting where she didn’t have enough outlets for her exercise and enrichment needs. Her previous adopters shared that she is a wonderful dog and that the return was not due to her behavior or temperament. Because of this, Bella would do best in a home that can provide her with regular exercise along with mentally stimulating enrichment while at home. Some great options include snuffle mats, treat-dispensing toys, stuffed toy bones with peanut butter or soft treats, puzzle feeders, and short training sessions. These help keep her mind busy, reduce boredom, and allow her to use her energy in a positive way. With the right balance, Bella truly shines and shows just how fun, affectionate, and engaging she is. A Few Things About Bella ✔ Friendly, outgoing, and loves people ✔ Happy wiggle butt with tons of personality ✔ Active and playful, loves to run and explore ✔ Enjoys walks, car rides, and adventures ✔She’s a spirited walker who thrives with a harness for smooth, happy outings. ✔ Smart and treat motivated, knows “paw” ✔ Loves belly rubs, cuddles, and being close to her people ✔ Thrives with regular exercise and mental enrichment when home alone Bella is ready for her next chapter with someone who will embrace her energy, enjoy her silly moments, and give her all the love she has to give right back. 📍 Come meet Bella at the Caroline County Humane Society 407 W. Belle Street, Ridgely, MD 21660 410-820-1600 CarolineHumane.org adoptions@carolinehumane.org

Story
Freyja is an owner loving high energy dog who can get rowdy and rambunctious. She is house trained and crate trained. She currently has become annoyed by the other 2 large dogs that she is around though the small one who doesn’t bother her is not a problem. She generally has been able to be around other animals all this time even cats. I’m unsure of her exact age due to getting her from someone who no longer wanted her as a puppy due to her playful gentle nature and didn’t have papers for her. She should be about 5 years old. I am looking for a home who is able to accommodate her high energy and want to run and play.

Story
Meet Jet! 🖤🐾Jet is a 4-year-old Lab who is ready to find his forever home. This big sweetheart is a true lover and a big “leaner” — he shows affection by gently pressing his head against you, asking for pets, or simply settling close by while enjoying a snack. Jet has a calm, patient nature, but he’s also full of curiosity and personality, making him a joy to be around. He’s been cat-tested and showed no aggression, though a dog-savvy cat would make the best housemate. He’s also been dog-tested and can be a little forward with other dogs, so a confident, well-rounded dog companion or a home where he’s the only dog would be ideal.Jet thrives on attention and companionship, and he’s looking for a family who will appreciate his sweet, loyal nature. Whether it’s cuddles on the couch or quietly hanging out by your side, Jet just wants to be where the love is. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate friend who will shower you with love (and maybe sneak a bone or two!), Jet is the perfect match.Jet's adoption fee is $200, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Story
Please contact Marilyn at 856-275-6905 for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 856-275-6905 (call or text) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. March 31, 2026, 9:46 pm
