I wish i had the time for her that she deserves but i know someone out there will take her in and love her as much as we do.

Story
Angus is a great dog. He is a 7 year old black lab is crate and house trained knows lots of commands, he is also food and toy motivated not hyper active, doesn’t bark unless someone rings the bell but will be quiet when told to be. He would be better with a home with a fenced yard or farm. To be honest I don’t want to rehome him he is a great dog but he does deserve better, between work and hospice he is not getting the attention and life he should have, used to have and it hurts me to see him miserable and alone for so many hours a day. He will come with his crate, bed and toys and any food I have left over

Story
Our family has had Monty for about 5 years. He was a rescue dog that we obtained from the local human society. For the longest time, I could not understand why anyone would let Monty go. He's the most loving and loyal dog a person could ask for. The kids love Monty and he lets them climb on him, and play with him, and he loves to hang with me as my "Project Buddy." He likes to lay around, sleep in with you, and sometimes roam the backyard. He is a gentle giant. Here is where it gets weird...My wife bought a Golden Retriever puppy about 2 years ago and she and Monty were besties. They'd play, run, sleep, and hang out together. They were always like "peas and carrots," living their best lives. Then in Dec 2023 Kora had puppies and everything changed. We kept a male puppy. Monty cannot handle another Male in house, sometimes for no apparent reason he just attacks him. Kora has turned on him to protect the puppy, and they fight all the time now. He does not like other male dogs.

Story
Gorgeous, happy, athletic, very active, handsome, sweet-these are just some of the words I can used to describe this wonderful five-year-old male purebred Golden Retriever. This boy is the classic looking golden who is a bundle of energy and loves, loves, loves to swim!!! Jax will be coming into our Rescue as soon as we find a foster family who is willing to work with us and our trainer to make Jax the very best that he can be. You see, he was not given the training he should have had as a young boy and is now being punished for the owner's lack of responsibility by having to either stay outside in this heat or gated off in the dining room, away from family he so craves to love. Our trainer has visited with him and feels he is a "diamond in the rough" and will be amazing boy in the right home with proper training, perhaps meds to help calm him for awhile and help him focus on training and being neutered which will be done upon entry into GREAT Rescue. He needs an experienced home of a foster or a foster to adopt who is willing to work with GREAT Rescue and our trainer to bring out the very best in Jax. He will be a much happier boy too when he has a family who cares for him and shows it by helping him to succeed, letting him be inside the home and be part of the family. He is living with another active retriever and seems to enjoy his company. One thing we know for sure is that he visited a family with a Goldendoodle and for the entire day both of them lived in the Pool so his new placement will definitely need a swimming pool and perhaps another active dog or a family member who is runner or avid walker/hiker. Jax is five years old and will be totally vetted when he comes into our Rescue. By that we mean, neutered, vaccinated, wormed, bathed, microchipped and heartworm negative. The new family MUST have a nice, fenced yard, live in Jacksonville area, no children and have one family member home much of the time. They must also be willing to work with our trainer and our veterinarian to bring out the best in Jax and make him a well-loved and happy boy. Make no mistake, this boy is a project in the making but the finished product will bring much joy to whomever is lucky enough to call him their very own. He is one stunning boy who deserves a chance, and we are looking for the right family to make it happen. If you feel you might be qualified to bring out the very best in Jax, please contact us at 904-874-7689 or our Rescue hotline at 904-501-6899. If you prefer to email, please reach out to us at greatrescue@comcast.net or info@greatrescue.org.
