Story
Mia is a sweet girl that would do well in a family that can play and spend time with her. Judged to be approximately 1 year old. She does well on her own but clearly desires someone that will invest in her. Since found, she does not wander or get into things around our house. Mia does get excited when you first come and greet her but calms down quickly when shown attention. She is crate trained and even the first few nights did not howl or bask after a minute or two. Incredibly smart and picks up on routines quickly. Not currently spayed but in the process of getting her UTD on vaccines and spayed. Vaccines scheduled for 8/15 and spay TBD based on scheduling available. Please consider bringing Mia into your family!

Story
Ivy came to us with her 9 adorable puppies after spending her first year of life with a family that ultimately decided they were not able to give her what she needed. She has raised her babies and is now ready to find her forever family. It took her a few days to come out of her shell and feel comfortable in a new environment, but now that she has, she is the happiest, most playful girl. Her ears are always up and her tail is always wagging. She enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home, and has done well with all the different personalities- from older and grumpy, to loud and bossy, to younger and goofy. Her favorite toys are chew toys, but she can occasionally be caught tossing a stuffed toy around for herself and has just learned the game of tug-of-war. She knows basic commands and while she loves being rewarded with treats, she's happy just making her person happy. Once bonded, Ivy is a bit of a velcro dog. She follows her foster mom around everywhere she goes, often stepping on the back of her flip flops. We don't think Ivy was crated much in her previous home, so she is working on being okay sleeping in her crate. She happily goes in her crate to eat, but will sing the song of her people in protest for a few minutes at bed time. She is getting better each day though. She will scratch at the door when she needs to go outside. She loved the children in her previous home,  so a family with kids to play with would be great! We think she would do best in a home without cats, or in a home with dog savvy cats. There are cats in her current foster home, but she is a little too cat curious for her foster mom's comfort level.  The adoption fee for Ivy is $400. This includes all vaccines (4 Distemper/Parvo, 2 Lepto, a Rabies, and a Bordetella), appropriate dewormings, microchipping and the spay/neuter surgery. A link to our online application can be found at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/22197/generic   If you can see this post, we are currently accepting applications for Ivy.   Once the application window closes, we will take the next few days to process all the applications we receive and will then be in touch to set up meet and greets with approved adopters. The amount of applications we receive determines how long it takes us to process them all.  We will contact you by the email address you entered on the application, so please make sure it is correct. Story
Ivy's puppies were born on January 4, 2023. Their mom is a lab mix and dad was either the wandering Great Pyrenees or the neighbor's Black Lab. They came to rescue at 5 weeks old and since then they have been introduced to life as a house dog. They love stuffed toys and have just learned about the joy of salmon and sweet potato jerky. Yummy! They are learning "how to dog" from their mama and the other adult dogs in the house. Since they are not yet fully vaccinated, they haven't been outside much, but are using potty pads. They love to help with chores like folding laundry, sweeping the floor and taking out the trash. These babies are so much fun and we can't wait to see what adventures they get up to with their forever families! The adoption fee for Ivy's puppies is $350. This includes all vaccines (4 Distemper/Parvo, 2 Lepto, a Rabies, and a Bordetella), appropriate dewormings, microchipping and the spay/neuter surgery when they are old enough. A link to our online application can be found at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/22197/generic   If you can see this post, we are still accepting applications.  Once the application window closes, it will take us afew days to process all the applications we receive. We will then be in touch to set up meet and greets with approved adopters.  The amount of applications we receive determines how long it takes us to process them all.  We will contact you by the email address you entered on the application, so please make sure it is correct. When adopting a puppy from a litter, we think it is best that approved adopters come meet the puppies and interact with them before choosing which puppy to adopt. You can’t learn much about a dog's personality from a picture, but you can learn a lot from sitting in the middle of a pile of puppies! From experience, we know that sometimes adopters pick one dog based on the pictures, but fall in love with another once meeting them. Applying to adopt from the litter instead of applying to adopt a particular puppy might not be the way all rescues work but we find it helps us do the best job of matching puppies with families.  Besides, this way, the puppies have a say too! You'd be surprised by how often the puppy picks their family. Hootie's Haven takes the responsibility of choosing forever homes for our dogs very seriously and always has the best interest of our dogs in mind. Our goal is to place each dog with families that will provide forever homes.  We reserve the right to deny an application for any reason and are not obligated to provide a reason. We also post updates on our Facebook page, so please make sure you have liked our page and are following it so that you will see the updates.  You can also go to our page to see other pictures or videos of our dogs.  https://www.facebook.com/hootieshaven   ##1646535##
