Story
Meet Tucky! Tucky is an awesome, easygoing girl who knows how to enjoy life. Give her a comfy dog bed and she is perfectly happy, but she is also a true water dog who loves the pool, lake, and playtime outdoors. She would do best as the only pet, but she does get along well with other dogs. Cats, however, are not her thing. Tucky is crate trained and fully potty trained, minds very well, and will not run off. She barks very rarely and has a calm, well-behaved nature. Tucky was adopted as a puppy in January 2019 and has grown into a loyal, balanced companion. She is just as content relaxing at home in her bed as she is playing and having fun. Tucky would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a well-mannered, loving dog with the perfect mix of chill and play.

Story
A FUN & HAPPY-NATURED GIRL:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 58 lbs.  Hi, I’m Jaquelyn! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m in a great foster home, having fun while I wait for my new family to find me!  I’m looking for a family with a stay/work from home family member as I do go out to potty a few times during the day, but my foster says no more than her dogs need to go.  I have a congenital kidney defect which is easily managed and like my foster reported, I’m good with a few let outs during the day and have been great all night long without any potty breaks!  I’ll most likely have a little shorter lifespan than some other dogs, but I’m living life to the fullest!  Maybe we can do that together?  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I just love playing with and palling around with the 3 dogs in my foster home, so if you have a friendly dog at home already, let’s meet! / I’m a bit too curious about the cat in my foster home so my foster thinks I’d do best in a home without a cat.  / I haven’t been around kids, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over with my enthusiasm. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster reports that I’m a great dog who is lovable, huggable, and sweet!  I’m a Velcro dog and I like to be the pup to get the most attention, so I’ll wiggle my way into the affection, though not in a mean way at all and I’ve learned to stop when my foster says ‘no, ‘sit’, or ‘back’. Playful, active, silly and fun – I am sure to bring lots of love to my new family! I’m a great alert/guard dog, and my foster reports that nothing gets by me – lol. Just acknowledge me by saying ‘OK Jacquelyn, I know’ or it’s ok’ and I’ll stop alerting you.  My foster jokingly says that I can hear a pin drop in the next county - lol!  So, best no apartment or condo type living since there would be so many noises. / My energy level is approximately 6-7, so let’s make time for play sessions or perhaps some hikes. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, down’, leave it’, ‘shake/paw’, ‘stay’ and ‘wait’ at feeding times commands. I also walk great on my leash and although alert during my walks, I don’t bark at or pull towards other dogs or people. If I’m jumpy with them, I’ll stop with a ‘no’ or if my foster turns their back.  My jumps are super soft and gentle, but my foster is working with me to not jump at all, and she says I’m almost there. I’m treat motivated and cut up carrots are a nice treat for my training. / I sleep with the other dogs on our very own mattress in my foster’s bedroom at night and don’t need a crate in my foster home. / My potty manners are great in my foster home!  I’ll sit by the door if I need to go out in between the potty schedule my foster has for me and the other dogs in the home.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with people getting attention, playing, and  being gently hugged and rubbed. Balls and toys are great fun for fetching – though it is more like a game of ‘keep away’ – lol.  I get excited when I hear the ice machine - frozen treats, yay!  Durable chew toys help me not chew on things that don’t belong to me, so let’s have lots of those, though if there’s stuffing sticking out from furniture, I likely can’t resist. I got to splash around in a lake recently and enjoyed that!  I also ride well in the car, so let’s go on some adventures! I also love going outside with the other dogs in my foster home so I can chase a critter from our yard (I think I’m quiet and can sneak up on them – lol) or to just sniff around. I also enjoy a good game of tug-o-war with the other dogs or my person.  / I don’t like the loud vacuum (what is THAT thing all about?), unexpected noises that make me a bit jumpy at times and the silly mop that I try to catch.  I am good for my bath, but can’t wait for it to be over and I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed. I eat Science Diet k/d dog food to help with my kidneys and have just had bloodwork done which shows that it’s really working!  The vet was so happy with the great results and so was I!  I’ll need regular checkups for my kidney health - twice a year is recommended.  If you’re a stay/work from home family and want a great dog to be active with, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    October 8, 2025, 7:48 am

A SWEET & SMART GAL:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 52 lbs. Hi, my name’s Ritzy!  I was rescued from animal control by Mostly Mutts, and I am so happy to be on the journey to my new home with their help.  I’ve made quite the impression on the volunteers here and – when you meet me and see how sweet and smart I am – I bet you will be impressed, too!  I’m ready for my ‘happily ever after’, so come meet me, fall in love, and let’s get our good life together started, shall we? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I enjoyed their company, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet girl with a loving and very affectionate nature.  At bath time, I showed my calm and gentle side – being extremely tolerant of my ear cleaning and the whole bathing process.  My playfulness, smarts and fun demeanor make me a shelter favorite.  If you are looking for a friendly fur baby, come meet me soon! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  My list of mastered commands is quite impressive.  Thus far, I have learned the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands.  I’ve got great leash manners, too. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love attention and enjoy giving and getting affection from my people.  Hugs and belly rubs are my favorites!  If you have toys handy, I like those, too, so – let’s play! / I was initially timid with male walkers, but I’ve done great with them recently.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a great furever home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 15, 2025, 7:37 am

Story
A SWEET & SHY FELLOW:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 59 lbs. Hi there, I’m Nicolas! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my furever family.  I got to spend some time in a wonderful foster home and was adopted for about 10 days, but it wasn’t a good fit, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts in the prison/foster training program off-site and looking forward to learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and am learning to play with them, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet boy who just needs a little time and patience to feel safe so I can blossom!  I can be a bit timid indoors, but once I’m outside with the volunteers, I really come alive - I love to roll in the grass, play in the play yard and do my funny little army crawl!  I may walk slowly at first as I think I’m new to leash walking, but I’m learning.  I was a little unsure entering the Paw Spa, but I did great for my bath, even preferring to lie down while my tail wagged the whole time.  I was very shut down and scared when I first went to my foster home, but my fosters were very patient with me, sometimes needing to gently carry me and show me I was safe.  I opened up so much after just a week and they describe me as “sweet and gentle.”  I did worry and cry out if I couldn’t see my people for too long so no condo- or apartment-style living and I would prefer a stay- or work-from-home family member, please.  I’m a very strong chewer and sometimes get into things that aren’t mine – oops – so please pick up your things and give me some nice, strong chew toys and bones that I know are mine.  I’m friendly, sweet, and happy – just a gentle soul looking for love. / Energy Level: 5-7.       • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer. / I did well at Mostly Mutts with my crate manners.  In my former foster home, I didn’t go in on my own, so my foster picked me up and placed me into it. / My former adoptive family reported that my potty manners were good on their schedule and I did well in my former foster home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy soft head pets and the company of someone who will sit quietly with me.  I like running, strong chew toys, snacks, exploring and playing fetch.  Rolling in grass and just being outside together in general is great fun for me, so I’d likely enjoy a fenced yard and a family that will spend lots of time outdoors with me. My former adoptive family reported that I just LOVED men and seemed to attach more to one person.  I’m sure we will discover even more things we enjoy doing together as I settle into my new home. / Sudden movements startle me and I don’t like being alone too much.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’m looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 17, 2025, 8:25 am

Story
A LOVING & PROTECTIVE GIRL:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 58 lbs. Hi, my name’s Yasmeen!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and I’m sure happy they did!  I’m now ready to find my furever family to love!  I also got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot!  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me.  My foster mom says my adopters will totally "hit the jackpot" with me — could that be you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them!  When I first meet new dogs, I might come across as dominant, but I quickly adjust to play mode.  If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / My foster reports that I am good with their male and female cats.  / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, as well as a 7-year-old whom I gave kisses to on a day trip with my foster, and I liked them, but I did some guarding in my temporary home, so dog-savvy kids 15+ may be a better match for me, let’s meet with my trainer. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I arrived a bit unsure of new people, and we learned that I like to know that I can trust you and then we’ll be good friends.  It only took a day for that in the prison foster/training program.  I LOVE my people a lot and guard them a bit when a stranger comes into the home, but if I know them, I’ve been alright. I’ve worked on this in the prison/foster training program, and we have found it helpful that I meet new people outside of my space/home, so doing this in my new home is recommended.  Since settling into my foster home and building trust with my foster mom, I’m now able to meet strangers more often and with greater ease. I have a few close friends (neighbors) in our neighborhood that I look forward to greeting each day on my walks. I’d like a dog-savvy family, and I would not do well in a home with a lot of folks coming and going.  I’ve been a great girl for my baths and ‘just the sweetest’ girl.  Once I settled into my foster home, my foster described me as a ‘very sweet, mellow girl who just wants to snuggle up’.  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  / I’m doing well in my crate.  I voluntarily went in there during the day to rest in a foster home I visited. / My potty manners are very good in the prison/foster training program as well as in a foster home I visited, and I usually go #2 regularly around 5:30pm.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Being with my people is just the best, and I love all the attention and cuddles that come my way.  Playing fetch, chewing on bones, giving and receiving kisses, playing with toys, zoomies around the back yard, giving and receiving snuggles, and going for car rides are a few of my favorite things.  My foster has been taking me on walks every morning, and I really look forward to those.  Long naps after playtime are awesome!  During a recent outing to a brewery with my foster, I wore a sunhat and had the best time soaking up the sunshine.  I met several people there that I really liked, and I happily sat pretty for them in exchange for a treat. / I can be a bit nervous, so sudden movements at the shelter and in the prison/foster training program can startle me. I wouldn’t like a home with a lot of folks coming and going or where I’d be rushed.  I’m not a fan of having my feet held. I do alert bark at strangers walking by and the delivery man in my foster home.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have some skin irritation so I’m taking an allergy medication called Apoquel which I may or may not need to stay on - we’re not sure yet, just ask about that.  I’m also getting medicated baths once a week and these can easily be done in my new home. I sometimes have phantom pains in my tail since it had to be amputated.  These can be common with amputees and should decrease in time.  I may need to be muzzled for vetting.      I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 17, 2025, 6:42 am

Story
LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL FAMILY:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 68 lbs.  Hi, I’m Constance, but I answer to the name Leia (please refer to Constance though when inquiring about me as that’s the name all my records are under). I was adopted as a puppy, but my family had a work change with travel and can no longer keep me, so Mostly Mutts welcomed me back into their family so I could find my furever home.  The shelter is stressful to me, but I’m learning to adjust, and have improved since I first arrived.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, I will correct them if they become too much though, to help them settle.  My former family also reported that I liked the dogs I met while with them, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / My former family reported that I was good with kitty cats. I have not met cats while with Mostly Mutts. / My former family reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them, though I don’t recall their ages.  I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were 10 years old and did well with them.  I don’t like being hugged though, so kids who are old enough to understand that are best and kids should not walk me as I can be a flight risk.  No very young kids and of course, let’s meet.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I came back to Mostly Mutts quite upset and very scared but also very sweet. My gentle nature continued to shine through, and with time and love, I’ve blossomed into the relaxed, affectionate pup I was meant to be!  It seems that once I know you, I’ll remember you, and when I see my favorite people, I want to get them right away in a happy way – giving them plenty of tail wags and kisses.  Loud or sudden noises spook me so I’m wearing a calming collar to help with that.  Energy level: 5-7 currently. I also know the fun commands ‘high 5’, ‘paw’, and ‘stop’.  / My crate manners were good in the prison/foster training program.  / My potty manners have been good at Mostly Mutts and my former family reported that I did well with them, too.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’ve made great friends with a group of people at Mostly Mutts, and I get very excited when I see any of them and want to be with them right away!  Friends are the best and I’m sure I’ll bond deeply with my new family, and we’ll discover lots of things we like doing together. / I don’t like being restrained or hugged.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  Going to the vet stresses me, so I will likely need to be pre-medicated before vet visits.  I’ve started on an inexpensive anxiety medication to help me with shelter stress, just ask about this please.   I’m looking for a great family to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 14, 2025, 8:18 am

Story
A SUPER SWEET FRIEND:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 34 lbs. Hello – I’m Greyson!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am grateful to have learned that I landed in a good place with lots of wonderful volunteers to show me so much love and good care! They are going to help me find my furever family, too.  You can’t beat that! I just went to a foster home, where I’m patiently waiting for my forever family to find me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t want to play with them, I was interested and didn’t show any aggression.  I recently shared my foster home with an energetic young dog for a little while. I played with her some, but I mostly liked having my own space.  I never showed any aggression, and I was polite the whole time.  If you have a nice dog at home who isn’t looking for a playmate, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I met a girl around 10-years-old and a teenage boy in my foster home and I liked them.  I jumped up on them a bit from excitement, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet and well-mannered senior gentleman who is quite energetic for my age.  The volunteers also report that I’m friendly, active and playful.  I can be a bit stubborn when going back in my kennel, as I just want to be with people, so I’d love to have a family member that is home a good bit.  Bath time was just fine with me, and I put my friendly and loving demeanor on display for my bather.  I’m ready for fun and a great life with YOU! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a smart boy who knows the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, and ‘leave it’ commands and I also use proper door etiquette and accept friendly strangers without jumping - that old saying that ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ has been shown to be a myth so let’s learn together!  My foster is working with me on my leash walking skills, as I currently pull and meander some on our daily walks.  / I have to be honest and say that “I hate being crated.”  I do some protesting in my kennel with whining and panting and generally find it stressful.  I also chewed on the plastic crate lining in my foster home when I was left in there.  I would not be happy in a home where I needed to spend much time in a kennel/crate.  In my foster home, I sleep in a dog bed in my foster’s bedroom.  / I've only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so keep me on a consistent good schedule, so I can fully master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  It is quite obvious at the shelter that I love being with people and I enjoy going for walks with them, too.  I will occasionally play with a toy, but a good petting from my foster is what I’m really interested in.  It is a treat for me when the volunteers sit in my room with me while I eat – I like that very much.  I’m quite the social butterfly!  After my walks, I enjoy chilling out for a while and taking a good long nap in one of my doggie beds.  / Being alone too much and being crated do not make me happy.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I had a good dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh again!  I’m an older fellow with a little arthritis, so I’m on a good over the counter Cosequin tablet to help keep my joints as healthy as possible.  I’ve started 2 medications for shelter and kennel stress called Fluoxetine and Trazodone.  I think I’ll be able to come off these gradually once I am out of the shelter and in my new loving home.   I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 16, 2025, 8:43 am
