Story
A FUN & HAPPY-NATURED GIRL:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 58 lbs.  Hi, I’m Jaquelyn! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m in a great foster home, having fun while I wait for my new family to find me!  I’m looking for a family with a stay/work from home family member as I do go out to potty a few times during the day, but my foster says no more than her dogs need to go.  I have a congenital kidney defect which is easily managed and like my foster reported, I’m good with a few let outs during the day and have been great all night long without any potty breaks!  I’ll most likely have a little shorter lifespan than some other dogs, but I’m living life to the fullest!  Maybe we can do that together?  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I just love playing with and palling around with the 3 dogs in my foster home, so if you have a friendly dog at home already, let’s meet! / I’m a bit too curious about the cat in my foster home so my foster thinks I’d do best in a home without a cat.  / I haven’t been around kids, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over with my enthusiasm. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster reports that I’m a great dog who is lovable, huggable, and sweet!  I’m a Velcro dog and I like to be the pup to get the most attention, so I’ll wiggle my way into the affection, though not in a mean way at all and I’ve learned to stop when my foster says ‘no, ‘sit’, or ‘back’. Playful, active, silly and fun – I am sure to bring lots of love to my new family! I’m a great alert/guard dog, and my foster reports that nothing gets by me – lol. Just acknowledge me by saying ‘OK Jacquelyn, I know’ or it’s ok’ and I’ll stop alerting you.  My foster jokingly says that I can hear a pin drop in the next county - lol!  So, best no apartment or condo type living since there would be so many noises. / My energy level is approximately 6-7, so let’s make time for play sessions or perhaps some hikes. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, down’, leave it’, ‘shake/paw’, ‘stay’ and ‘wait’ at feeding times commands. I also walk great on my leash and although alert during my walks, I don’t bark at or pull towards other dogs or people. If I’m jumpy with them, I’ll stop with a ‘no’ or if my foster turns their back.  My jumps are super soft and gentle, but my foster is working with me to not jump at all, and she says I’m almost there. I’m treat motivated and cut up carrots are a nice treat for my training. / I sleep with the other dogs on our very own mattress in my foster’s bedroom at night and don’t need a crate in my foster home. / My potty manners are great in my foster home!  I’ll sit by the door if I need to go out in between the potty schedule my foster has for me and the other dogs in the home.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with people getting attention, playing, and  being gently hugged and rubbed. Balls and toys are great fun for fetching – though it is more like a game of ‘keep away’ – lol.  I get excited when I hear the ice machine - frozen treats, yay!  Durable chew toys help me not chew on things that don’t belong to me, so let’s have lots of those, though if there’s stuffing sticking out from furniture, I likely can’t resist. I got to splash around in a lake recently and enjoyed that!  I also ride well in the car, so let’s go on some adventures! I also love going outside with the other dogs in my foster home so I can chase a critter from our yard (I think I’m quiet and can sneak up on them – lol) or to just sniff around. I also enjoy a good game of tug-o-war with the other dogs or my person.  / I don’t like the loud vacuum (what is THAT thing all about?), unexpected noises that make me a bit jumpy at times and the silly mop that I try to catch.  I am good for my bath, but can’t wait for it to be over and I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed. I eat Science Diet k/d dog food to help with my kidneys and have just had bloodwork done which shows that it’s really working!  The vet was so happy with the great results and so was I!  I’ll need regular checkups for my kidney health - twice a year is recommended.  If you’re a stay/work from home family and want a great dog to be active with, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    October 8, 2025, 7:48 am

Story
FUN, SWEET & ACTIVE:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 40 lbs. Hi there, I’m Christian!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m very happy to be here getting the good care and love I desire.  I got to spend a few days in a temporary foster home and had a lot of fun there!  Now I’m back at the shelter and ready to meet my new family, hopefully soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met 2 other dogs that were a little larger than me in my temp. foster home and I played very well with one of them and understood the more dominant one’s corrections.  I adjusted quickly to my place in the pack without any issues in this home, so yay me!  If you have a dog that would like a playmate, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met two younger kids visiting the shelter and liked them, being gentle, sweet and respectful, as if I knew they were just little, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a handsome, fun, and lively boy who loves life and all the people I’ve met so far!  I’m playful, friendly, and a little goofy in the best way.  I find that I’m happiest when I’m with people getting attention and giving out puppy kisses.  I love running around when I go on my temp. foster sleepovers, so I would love a fenced yard where we can play together.  I’m curious about the world around me, easy to walk, and such a good listener - just a sweet, happy guy ready to bring joy to my forever family! / Energy Level: 6-8 so I’d like to be active with my family and have some fun adventures together.        • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ and ‘leave it’ commands and I’m sure you can teach me lots more! / In my temp. foster home, I did pretty well in my crate, but would not be happy spending too much time in it.  I did whine a good bit before settling. / I only had a few accidents in my temp. foster home, but have been having accidents on the shelter schedule, so perhaps I just need to go out a bit more than the shelter schedule permits.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love toys, treats, antlers and getting lots of pets and attention!  Walks are also a favorite of mine, and I have a great time playing with my dog friends, too. / I got a little carsick recently, but I may get better at riding in the car over time.  I don’t think I’d be happy away from my family for a full workday, so someone who’s home more would be great and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a young, sweet and active dog looking for a wonderful family to have fun with and love!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 3, 2025, 8:21 am

Story
A SWEET & GENTLE GIRL:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 58 lbs.  Hello, my name is Ansley – a pretty girl with a beautiful, silky coat!  I was rescued from animal control by Mostly Mutts and have been soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers and my fosters ever since.  I now hear it is time to find my new family, and I am soooo excited!  I’m ready to start my ‘happily ever after’ in a loving home – perhaps YOURS? I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t really want to play, I was interested and didn’t show any aggression.  I also did well with the 5-year-old Yorkie in a foster home as well as two older female dogs I currently live with.  I like when dogs are mellow, so if you have a more mellow dog at home already, let’s meet! / I have not met cats at Mostly Mutts, however I paid no mind to a cat I saw on a walk with my foster. / I really liked the teenagers in my former foster home, and I was just as happy to meet some younger kids (around 10 years old) at the playground. I rolled right over for belly rubs with my tail wagging the whole time, so if you have kids at home, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I was initially stressed when I arrived at the shelter, but with some care and love from my foster families, my easy-going, gentle and affectionate personality is shining through!  A true people-pleaser, my foster describes me as ‘sweetness from head to toe’.  I did bark a few times to alert her to unfamiliar noises I was hearing outside, and at any doorbell sound, but I quieted down quickly with a firm ‘leave it’.  I have a keen sense of smell and sharp hearing. I often track down scents in the yard.  My foster gave me a treat puzzle, and with my excellent sniffer, I completed it in minutes. I’ll alert you when the doorbell rings (even the doorbell on TV!), but I quiet down with a firm ‘leave it’.  I’m super cute and affectionate with a calm and low-key nature - I’m ready and waiting to be your new best friend.  My foster families will tell you that I am a fabulous dog and will make an amazing addition to a wonderful family! / My energy level is 6-8 – with fun short bursts of play time being my specialty so let’s be active together! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a smart girl who knows the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘leave it’, ‘place’, ‘come’ and ‘shake’ commands.  I walk nicely on a leash and know the fun command ‘shake’.  On my walks, I show little interest in other people or pups.  I look forward to learning more, so let’s have some training sessions together as my foster says that I’m very smart and can learn a lot more! / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts, however I do not like being in a crate in my foster home and damaged a metal crate there, but I have very good house manners without a crate, so I don’t need one.  / I have great potty habits in my foster home and will stand by the door or softly whine when I need to go outside.  I also whine at the door to notify my foster that I need to go out. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Spending time with the volunteers is just the best, because I get the chance to go out and roll in the grass and on you!  Then, I can give you kisses and nose nudges to request more attention – which I love!  I enjoy playing with toys (sometimes performing my special squeakerectomy on them), enjoying a stuffed Kong, and getting those great belly rubs.  Toss a tennis ball my way, and I'll jump up to catch it with precision!  I love being outside, and have become quite fond of bird watching, perhaps we can do that together?  I ride well in the car, so let’s go on some adventures!  After playing, I enjoy curling up for a cozy nap on the couch.  When I wake up, get ready for the cutest stretch you’ve ever seen — front paws on the couch, back paws on the floor — it's my signature move!  / I’m not a fan of the busy traffic around the shelter and am much happier and more relaxed playing in the back yard. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.   I am looking for a great home with a loving furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 20, 2025, 1:00 pm

Story
A LOVING & PROTECTIVE GIRL:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 58 lbs. Hi, my name’s Yasmeen!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and I’m sure happy they did!  I’m now ready to find my furever family to love!  I also got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot!  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me.  My foster mom says my adopters will totally "hit the jackpot" with me — could that be you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them!  When I first meet new dogs, I might come across as dominant, but I quickly adjust to play mode.  If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / My foster reports that I am good with their male and female cats.  / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, as well as a 7-year-old whom I gave kisses to on a day trip with my foster, and I liked them, but I did some guarding in my temporary home, so dog-savvy kids 15+ may be a better match for me, let’s meet with my trainer. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I arrived a bit unsure of new people, and we learned that I like to know that I can trust you and then we’ll be good friends.  It only took a day for that in the prison foster/training program.  I LOVE my people a lot and guard them a bit when a stranger comes into the home, but if I know them, I’ve been alright. I’ve worked on this in the prison/foster training program, and we have found it helpful that I meet new people outside of my space/home, so doing this in my new home is recommended.  Since settling into my foster home and building trust with my foster mom, I’m now able to meet strangers more often and with greater ease. I have a few close friends (neighbors) in our neighborhood that I look forward to greeting each day on my walks. I’d like a dog-savvy family, and I would not do well in a home with a lot of folks coming and going.  I’ve been a great girl for my baths and ‘just the sweetest’ girl.  Once I settled into my foster home, my foster described me as a ‘very sweet, mellow girl who just wants to snuggle up’.  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  / I’m doing well in my crate.  I voluntarily went in there during the day to rest in a foster home I visited. / My potty manners are very good in the prison/foster training program as well as in a foster home I visited, and I usually go #2 regularly around 5:30pm.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Being with my people is just the best, and I love all the attention and cuddles that come my way.  Playing fetch, chewing on bones, giving and receiving kisses, playing with toys, zoomies around the back yard, giving and receiving snuggles, and going for car rides are a few of my favorite things.  My foster has been taking me on walks every morning, and I really look forward to those.  Long naps after playtime are awesome!  During a recent outing to a brewery with my foster, I wore a sunhat and had the best time soaking up the sunshine.  I met several people there that I really liked, and I happily sat pretty for them in exchange for a treat. / I can be a bit nervous, so sudden movements at the shelter and in the prison/foster training program can startle me. I wouldn’t like a home with a lot of folks coming and going or where I’d be rushed.  I’m not a fan of having my feet held. I do alert bark at strangers walking by and the delivery man in my foster home.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have some skin irritation so I’m taking an allergy medication called Apoquel which I may or may not need to stay on - we’re not sure yet, just ask about that.  I’m also getting medicated baths once a week and these can easily be done in my new home. I sometimes have phantom pains in my tail since it had to be amputated.  These can be common with amputees and should decrease in time.  I may need to be muzzled for vetting.      I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 17, 2025, 6:42 am

LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL FAMILY:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 68 lbs.  Hi, I’m Constance, but I answer to the name Leia (please refer to Constance though when inquiring about me as that’s the name all my records are under). I was adopted as a puppy, but my family had a work change with travel and can no longer keep me, so Mostly Mutts welcomed me back into their family so I could find my furever home.  The shelter is stressful to me, but I’m learning to adjust, and have improved since I first arrived.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, I will correct them if they become too much though, to help them settle.  My former family also reported that I liked the dogs I met while with them, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / My former family reported that I was good with kitty cats. I have not met cats while with Mostly Mutts. / My former family reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them, though I don’t recall their ages.  I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were 10 years old and did well with them.  I don’t like being hugged though, so kids who are old enough to understand that are best and kids should not walk me as I can be a flight risk.  No very young kids and of course, let’s meet.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I came back to Mostly Mutts quite upset and very scared but also very sweet. My gentle nature continued to shine through, and with time and love, I’ve blossomed into the relaxed, affectionate pup I was meant to be!  It seems that once I know you, I’ll remember you, and when I see my favorite people, I want to get them right away in a happy way – giving them plenty of tail wags and kisses.  Loud or sudden noises spook me so I’m wearing a calming collar to help with that.  Energy level: 5-7 currently. I also know the fun commands ‘high 5’, ‘paw’, and ‘stop’.  / My crate manners were good in the prison/foster training program.  / My potty manners have been good at Mostly Mutts and my former family reported that I did well with them, too.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’ve made great friends with a group of people at Mostly Mutts, and I get very excited when I see any of them and want to be with them right away!  Friends are the best and I’m sure I’ll bond deeply with my new family, and we’ll discover lots of things we like doing together. / I don’t like being restrained or hugged.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  Going to the vet stresses me, so I will likely need to be pre-medicated before vet visits.  I’ve started on an inexpensive anxiety medication to help me with shelter stress, just ask about this please.   I’m looking for a great family to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 14, 2025, 8:18 am
