Story
A FUN & HAPPY-NATURED GIRL:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 54 lbs.  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m in a great foster home, learning, and having fun! I’m looking for a family with a stay/work from home family member as I do need to be taken out to the potty more than some other dogs due to a congenital kidney defect which is easily managed!  I’m a typical happy young dog and don’t know that there’s anything wrong with me at all, so I want to be treated like a normal fun dog!  I’ll likely have a little shorter lifespan than some other dogs, but I’m living life to the fullest!  Maybe we can do that together?  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I just love playing with and palling around with the dogs in my foster home, but I have been known to hoard all the toys and time with my people so, if you have a laid-back dog already that would enjoy a friend and not mind my coveting all the toys and people, let’s meet! / I’m a bit too curious about the cat in my foster home so my foster thinks I’d do best in a home without a cat.  / I haven’t been around young kids, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over with my enthusiasm. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster reports that I’m a great pup who will make a wonderful companion. I’m lovable, huggable, and sweet!  When I first went to my foster home, I would chew blankets and an occasional shoe, sock or oven mitt, but I mostly know what is mine now, so please make sure I have lots of hard toys and Nylabones. I am a little mouthy during play or when people try to pet my belly.  Please tell me to ‘leave it’ and avoid the belly . . . I like all the other pets.  Pretty much a Velcro dog, I like to be the pup to get the most attention and although not aggressive toward the other dogs, I will wiggle my way in between them and my people.  I’m an “in your face” type of loving girl, even staring during our conversations.  I love to explore my foster’s fenced back yard, happy to play with the other dogs or on my own – my foster says I’m a “treasure hunter” so maybe we can even make a game out of that.  I’m a pretty quiet girl, but have a deep alert bark if I hear unknown noises or people.  Playful, very active, silly and fun – I am sure to bring lots of love to my new family! / My energy level is approximately 7 - 8, so let’s make time for lots of play sessions or running or hikes. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands and will give a nice ‘shake’ and know the ‘go to your crate’ command.  I walk great on my leash and although alert during my walks, I don’t bark at or pull toward dogs. / I sleep in my crate at night and go in willingly. I do like a treat reward when I go in it, please. / I am taken out every 2 ½ hours or so during the day and my water is managed/limited to what works best for my kidneys and potty manners.  My foster will be happy to talk to you about this.  I have been going to the door to signal that I need to go potty and I’m doing great.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with people getting attention, playing, being gently hugged and rubbed. Balls and toys are great fun for fetching – though it is more like a game of ‘keep away’ or catch with my paws right now – lol.  I get really excited when I hear the ice machine . . . frozen treats!  I got to splash around in a lake recently and enjoyed that!  I also ride well in the car – let’s go on lots of adventures! / I don’t like the loud vacuum (what is THAT thing all about?), unexpected noises that make me a bit jumpy at times and the silly mop I try to bite.  I am good for my bath, but can’t wait for it to be over.  I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed. I eat Science Diet k/d dog food to help with my kidneys and have just had bloodwork done which shows that it’s really working!  The vet was so happy with the great results and so am I!   If you’re a stay/work from home family and want a great dog to be active with, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

A FUN & ENERGETIC PUP:  Approx. 9 months old / Approx. 30 lbs. and growing Hi, my name is Lindsey!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m so happy to be on my way to living the good life with a wonderful family. I’m ready for them to come meet me – perhaps that is YOU!  I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program where I learned so much about being a great dog! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I had a mouthy style of play, though I enjoyed my time with them. If you have a doggie at home already who wouldn’t mind a playmate like this, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I met nice kids at Mostly Mutts and liked them, however I’m in the mouthy puppy stage with an abundance of exuberant puppy energy so I was mouthy and playfully pulled at their clothes. My trainer has been working with me on this, so I have improved a lot with a firm ‘leave it’.  A home with kids ages 10 and up that understand I am still a learning puppy could be a good match for me.  Let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a fun-natured, friendly puppy with a love for adventure with my people.  A sweet and very playful pup, I am looking for a family member to match my energy level.  Everything is a reason for a good play session.  I even made a ‘game’ out of drinking from the sprayer during my shelter bath – silly me! I’m also learning that lying and relaxing with my people after a day of playing can be fun, too!  / My energy level is 6-8, so let’s have lots of adventures together! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and accept nice strangers without jumping.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / Still a puppy, I was having several accidents on the shelter schedule, but I’ve been doing great on the prison/foster training program schedule. I do still let out the occasionally ‘excited to see you’ tinkle!  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Tennis balls are great!  I love chasing them, so throw one my way. I love the time I spend with the volunteers who care for me.  They say I will be a great walking or hiking buddy!  I went on a day trip recently where we discovered that I love water! Playing in the creek was a blast where I would try to catch the splashing water in my mouth.  / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a wonderful furever home with a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

PLAYFUL, AFFECTIONATE & FUN:  Approx. 7 months old / Approx. 45 lbs. & growing Hi, my name is Tootsie!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’ve been soaking up all the attention I can from the nice shelter volunteers who come to care for me.  I have heard them say that I am now ready to find a family of my very own, which makes me super happy – and excited for the great life that awaits me!  I got to spend some time in the foster/training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and I was friendly with them.  If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet with my trainer and see if we can be pals!  / Cats unknown. / I’ve met kids at Mostly Mutts that were 10 years and older and I did well with them, so if you have kids around that age, let’s meet.  I am a bit of a jumpy and mouthy puppy right now when I play, so best no overly rambunctious kids.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a happy and playful pup who has charmed the volunteers with my super sweet and friendly demeanor.  They say that I am a stunner:  my beautiful brown eyes and shiny chocolate brown coat always getting me plenty of attention!  I’m affectionate, young, and fun.  As beautiful as I am loving, you are sure to fall in love! / My energy level is 7 - 8. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog - so get ready for some training with your new best friend.  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I’ve already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I’m working hard to master my leash manners now with my trainer.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have improved on the shelter schedule, however I’m still having some accidents, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule so I can polish off my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play and enjoy my time in the play yard with the volunteers – and some fun toys, of course!  I’d certainly enjoy a fenced yard in my new home where we can have lots of fun play sessions together. When it is time to relax, I love all the petting that comes my way.  A volunteer recently took me on a daytrip to the park and I did really well in the car, so take me with you on lots of adventures! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I’m current on my immunizations, microchipped and spayed.  I was experiencing painful and reoccurring happy tail syndrome, so after careful consideration and recommendation from the vet, my tail has been shortened/docked for my comfort.  The good news is, it doesn’t bother me anymore and I have the cutest nubby tail! If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

AN ACTIVE & SILLY PUPPY FRIEND:  Approx. 8 months old /Approx. 38 lbs. & growing Hello – my name is Lassie!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m so glad that Mostly Mutts was able to rescue me, so I can find my furever home!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met and played well with several of the dogs at Mostly Mutts with a proper introduction, however I should not live with a dog.  I think I would be a good daycare candidate or neighborhood dog playmate, but something about dogs living in my home doesn’t sit right with me. / Cats unknown. / I met respectful kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them, though I was a little ‘puppy’ jumpy with them, so if you have kids 10 years old or older that know how to respect a dog, let’s meet!  I was in a home for a few weeks with younger kids that did not treat me respectfully, so that didn’t work out and I did eventually end up nipping 2 of them as a result.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a wonderful pup who has a happy and affectionate nature you are sure to love!  I’m playful and fun - even during my photo session – lol.   I’m still very much a big enthusiastic puppy and can easily get underfoot, so I would not be a good match in a home where family members have mobility issues.  Lively and sweet, I’m ready for some great adventures with you!  I don’t seem to be a barker or a digger, so bonus for you! / My energy level is 6 – 8, so I’ll want a family that will  be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I’m learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer as well as working on my leash skills, as I tend to pull and jump like a silly big puppy right now and sometimes, I grab at my walker. I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’ and ‘drop it’ commands so far and I have a learning spirit, so I think I’ll do well with my training. / I don’t like going back into my crate after we’re together because I’d rather stay with you!  Once I am in there, I am quiet, however I am still learning to go in voluntarily. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule once I learned the routine, so hopefully with a good routine, that will be the case in my new home too!    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to play and always enjoy it when the volunteers break out the toys! I also enjoy chewing on bones and carrying a tennis ball around in my mouth. I’m a people dog and just love spending time with people as well as cuddling with them!  I’m sure to bring lots of smiles to my family with my playful antics. / I don’t think I’d want to live in a home with a lot of chaos as I seem to like a more orderly environment.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a dedicated family to raise me into a great adult dog – sharing love and making lifetime memories with me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
A LOVING GIRL LOOKING FOR MY MATCH:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 50 lbs. Hi, my name is Islay (eye-la)!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control after seemingly being on my own for a good bit before that. I am so happy to be safe and in a Mostly Mutts foster home. I’ve been spending time in between two wonderful foster homes, where I am learning what it means to be loved. I am now ready to meet my furever family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’m best buds with the little terrier in my foster home and he only weighs 10 lbs! When we are outside, we do zoomies in the back yard and spend time hanging out! I would really enjoy having a small or medium sized fur sibling in my new home, so if you have a friendly doggie, let’s meet! Large dogs intimidate me though. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids while with Mostly Mutts, so I'm not sure, but I might like to meet some teenagers who respect boundaries and aren’t overly boisterous, and best no young children that might make me feel anxious. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m super sweet, loving and enjoy being with my people and dog friends. Wherever they go, I follow! I enjoy being active and would be happiest with a family that will be active with me and has the time to take me on walks and hikes. I am a great trail-walking or jogging partner. I used to be nervous when meeting new people, but I’ve grown a lot in that area and often happily walk up to people to meet them now. My foster takes me to lots of places with her, like the Mostly Mutts Market, farmer’s market, and the hardware store so that I can meet new people in friendly environments! / My energy level is 6 - 8. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a smart girl who is very receptive to training and I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘down’ commands.  I also walk nicely on a leash! / My foster can leave me at home uncrated and I have been very good, mostly just napping.  At night-time I will sleep in an open crate, on a dog bed - or with you! / I have had very good potty habits in both of my foster homes, so yay me!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like walks or hikes, and I would be a GREAT hiking (or running) partner.  I also enjoy wading in a creek, chasing balls and squirrels in the yard - so a fenced yard would be wonderful. Hanging out with my people for belly rubs and being loved on is my most favorite thing of all, and if you have a friendly dog for me to play with, I would love that too!  I love my foster mom, but I am also drawn to men. / I don’t like to spend too much time away from my people, so I would love a stay at home or work from home family member. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. In my foster homes, I’m just fine with being touched all over, restrained, having my nails trimmed, etc. However, I was very frightened for my vet appointment, so the vet recommends that I have an anti-anxiety pill beforehand and perhaps gently muzzled too as I did get a little snappy when at the vet, but they could tell it was only out of fear, not aggression. I think if I got used to seeing one vet, I could build up my confidence with them and maybe vet visits wouldn’t be so frightening for me. I am looking for an experienced owner who is patient and committed to training and will guide me as I continue to overcome my anxiety and become the best companion I can be.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
A FUN & ACTIVE FELLOW:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 36 lbs.  Hi, my name is Trevor!  I was rescued from animal control by the great folks at Mostly Mutts.  I am enjoying my time with the volunteers, and I can’t wait to meet my new family now that I am available for adoption.  Come see me soon!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was a bit slow to warm up to them though I eventually did.  I preferred the female dogs I met, so if you have a nice female doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  I will be tested again soon with male doggies, so this may change.  / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, although I was a little jumpy when meeting them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super sweet and curious fellow who the volunteers call ‘a great dog’ that is well-mannered and will sit, wait and listen carefully.  Such a good boy!  I have a distinctly beautiful, shiny and soft coat that is sure to impress.  I’m also playful, fun, and very active – ready for life’s adventures with my new family! / My energy level is 6-8, so get ready to be active with your new best friend! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer!  So far, I know the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands.  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule, so I’ll need a bit of help with that.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule with praise and treat rewards so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love to play and have been having a blast fetching tennis balls and running around in the MM play yard, so a nice, fenced yard in my new home would be a great place for us to have fun play sessions.  Toys are fun too, so I’d like several of those please.  I walk well on my leash with the volunteers, so we can take nice walks together, too.  I also like treats, but I take them enthusiastically (they’re just so yummy), so you can help me learn to take them gently. / I didn’t care for the bath sprayer during my shelter bath but otherwise, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I would not like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m looking for a fun family to be active with me and show me the good life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 26, 2024, 11:37 am
