Story
Jada is just the sweetest girl! This beautiful dog showed up at our shelter in February 2019 as a stray. While we hoped someone would come looking for her, no one ever did. At Jada's intake exam, we sadly discovered that she was heartworm positive and would require treatment. Jada has been undergoing the "slow kill" method of treatment for over a year while learning a lot in our FIDO prison program. She hopes to be heartworm free very soon. Jada does have some bladder issues and needs a daily medication to help with it. She can be a little shy meeting new people and takes some time to warm up, so because of this she would be best in a home without small children. Jada can picky with her canine friends and prefers a home without cats. This gorgeous gal is hoping that her new family will come soon and show her what it's like to be a valued family pet!Jada is a member of our FIDO prison program. FIDO dogs are obedience trained and socialized by the prison inmates. The $250 adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, and heart worm test (and current with monthly preventative). They are house trained, crate trained, and know their 5 basic commands. If interested in meeting a FIDO dog, please fill out an application online at: inapl.org/adoption-application. Once it's processed, a member of our team will be contact with you.JadaLabrador Retriever mixFemaleDOB: 3/4/2014Weight: 64 lbs.Heartworm Positive

Story
DJ has just the cutest white muzzle! This happy go-lucky guy is hopeful that his new family will be applying for him soon. DJ is an energetic 10 year old Labrador Retriever mix that loves to zoom around and chase toys. Since he has quite a bit of energy, he will require a fenced in yard in his forever home. DJ can be a bit picky with his canine friends and will also need a kitty free home. DJ would be absolutely thrilled if he could be one and only furbaby in your life. He has always dreamed of being an only child! DJ is a member of our FIDO prison program. FIDO dogs are obedience trained and socialized by the prison inmates. Story
Hazel Sophie is a very smart and beautiful girl. She does shed and is not hypoallergenic. She has serious separation anxiety, and will destroy thing when left along. She has broken two kennels at the shelter. She will need a secure fenced in yard to keep her safe. She will not stay inside an invisible fence. But, she is so sweet and loves to cuddle. She doesn't know a stranger and enjoys time with people. She gets along great with other dogs and cats, however with cats she does scare them as she likes to prance around in high speed. She walks well on leash and wants more than anything to please her people. Hazel would probably benefit greatly with training classes and will with time and patience become a wonderful pet.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.
