Story
Mindy would be best as the only animal in the home or with another more passive dog. She is loyal, loves attention and is a cuddler. She does bark at strangers until she gets to know them. She gets along with my white male Lab Oakley as he is laid back and more passive, but since my female black Lab Annie turned 1 year old, they have been sparring at each other randomly and I just do not think their quality of life is really enjoyable lately. She would be perfect for a single person or couple ready for a new loyal, loving companion to add to their home.

The shelter that rescued her in NC named her Dr Tabitha Silvermoon - probably because she has those wise, loving eyes! Tabby is the sweetest dog. She has bonded so much to me and sadly, I have to take care of my 3 kids and work all day. She wants a human who has a lot of time and love for her - she will reciprocate in spades!

Story
Meet Jackson! A spirited four-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd mix from Avondale, PA, whose essence is a bold blend of loyalty and energy wrapped in a handsome brown coat. Jackson is a big-hearted, 87-pound bundle of excitement who’s always ready for action—especially if that action involves a rugged Kong toy! Whether he’s tossing it around on his own or playing tug with a trusted human, those toys are his go-to for fun and focus. His favorite people? He adores them deeply! When Jackson bonds, he bonds hard—and he shows it in the most affectionate ways, from leaning into your legs to following you around with those big, soulful eyes. This boy is smart and responsive—he already knows “sit” and “down,” and with some positive reinforcement and patience, he’s sure to master even more commands. Jackson hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, but he’s definitely a pup who would thrive with structure and guidance. He’s house-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, making him all set in the health department. Jackson does have a few quirks that make him unique. He’s been a little protective of his space and people—once reacting with a nip when surprised by an unfamiliar guest. He does best in an environment where introductions are calm and controlled, and where he knows what to expect. He’s also not a fan of other dogs, so he’s looking for a one-dog home where he can be the center of attention. As for cats, the jury’s still out—he hasn’t had enough exposure to say for sure. But don’t let that tough exterior fool you—Jackson is a softie at heart! He just wants to be loved, understood, and given the chance to thrive in a home where he can soak up all the attention. He’s the perfect match for someone with dog experience who can provide consistent care, loving boundaries, and lots of playtime. To make sure that Jackson has a great start with his new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. He’s waiting to find that special someone to share his big love and even bigger personality. To learn more about adopting Jackson, contact adopt@joyfulpets.com today!
