Story
Ziti Ziti is a Female Lab mix. DOB: May 16th, 2018 Adoption fee: $100.00 I am a big girl who deserves a second chance for a new life. I arrived at the shelter heartworm positive. I completed my treatment and have recently been given the gift of a heartworm negative test!! I do have an older injury to my front left leg. I still enjoy going for leisurely walks with my favorite volunteer and will romp around a little with a couple of my pals (both human and canine) for short bursts before wanting to relax and settle in for belly rubs. I will need an owner who has a good relationship with their veterinarian. I am not recommended for a first-time dog owner or an owner which has not owned a dog for 8-10 years. I’d prefer no children under the age of 12-15. Visiting grandchildren may be okay, but I am not a toy. I am not a high energy dog, although I have spurts of energy, I am quite chill most of the time. The shelter is a busy place and I prefer to bird watch, sniff the ground and lounge. I can be hardheaded and will require a physically fenced in yard. I am not into being a playmate for another dog. I may do well with an older dog, or a low energy smaller dog. I may be okay with a dog friendly cat. If you are interested in being my adopter, please visit my shelter's website and complete the adoption application that is available there! HSSCM.org you can find the applications under the "adoptions" tab.

Story
Viper Viper is a male Shepherd/Lab mix. DOB: March of 2023 Adoption fee: $125.00 I am a very large boy. I do not know my own size or strength. (Older children 12+) I recently had the opportunity for a 10-week training course where I learned many tricks and commands. I am back at the shelter and would really like to find my forever home so I can put what I learned to good use. Just have lots of treats on hand!! I will need someone with large-breed dog experience. I strongly recommend having a physically fenced-in yard. I may require it pending your previous experience, location, and/or other plans for containment. I may be okay with another dog, but I am too big for small breeds (I will not respect them). The match-up would really depend on the current dog's personality. I may learn to respect a cat, with lots and lots of work. I walk well on a leash but can get distracted easily. I need to be reminded, all fours on the floor. The shelter is a busy place for a dog like me. I know I will make a great companion for the right situation. If you are interested in being my adopter, please visit my shelter's website and complete the adoption application that is available there! Story
Winston Winston is a Male Terrier/Lab mix. DOB: April of 2023. Adoption fee: $150.00 I did not have the best beginning in life. My litter was left at an animal control facility before we were able to eat solid food. A good Samaritan took us in as temporary fosters to help us to survive without our mother, which we did. I had every parasite you could imagine, and my digestive tract needed time to catch up with my changing diet. I am doing well with a grain free diet and grain free treats. I am a little behind where most pups would be at my age because I’ve been in a shelter setting for far too long. I will need an owner or family who understands I will need time to adjust. Time to get used to my new surroundings and adjust to being in a home. I can do it, I just need a little time and understanding. I will require a physically fenced in yard. I am walking much better on a leash. I love to play fetch and acting goofy. I may match with another pending a meet and greet. Not sure about cats, but possibly trainable. I would do my best with children 10-12 years or older, just because I’ve never been around young children.

Story
Polly Polly is a female Lab mix DOB: October 19, 2023 Adoption fee: $225.00 I am the best puppy ever! I am a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up. I am loving and playful but in a very respectful way. I am not too hyper, or too lazy, I am a great combo of smart, cute, playful, and respectful. I will make a great addition to some lucky family. I should be medium size when fully grown, roughly 45-60 pounds. I should match with another dog, pending a meet and greet. I should adjust to a dog friendly cat. I should do well with children pending observed interaction, 8+. There is a possibility I have Cattle Dog in my genes which means I may herd. I keep my kennel clean and appear crated trained as well. I am an overall very nice pup and I know I will make a great companion for the right person, couple or family.

Cranberry Cranberry is a female Lab mix DOB: December 7, 2023 Adoption fee: $225.00 I am as sweet and tart as a cranberry. I am smart and should learn the routine in my new home quickly. I do not appear as though I will be very large when fully grown. It's hard to tell what I am mixed with, so the size is unknown. I am a happy and playful puppy. I should do well with other dogs pending a meet and greet with the current dog in the home. I should adjust to a dog friendly cat. I am recommended with children 8 + pending previous experience and observed interaction.
