Story
Jack is a big, goofy lab/boxer mix who came to the shelter as a stray. He had a chip but we were unable to find his owner. He's a happy go lucky boy looking for an active family. Being cooped up at the shelter has been hard on him and he really needs a yard to run in or a family who can get him the exercise he needs. Jack loves other dogs but will probably be a lot for gentle dogs. He's a rough and tumble, chase me kind of guy! He's eager to please and food motivated, and if you can get his attention, he's ready to learn!

Story
Gender: Female Age: # 1/2 Breed/Color: Lab / Black Location: Gregory, MI Pet ID: 2024_12 Adoption Fee: $350 Princess aka Prissy is one heck of an amazing dog!! She is a lab/hound mix. She has not seen a lot of new things, so she can be shy at first ... ohhhh but don't let that fool you!. She is used to and LOVES cats. Dogs are new to her, but man oh man she can play with them or leave them because she can play by herself!. She is a bit on the chunky side, so clearly she is food motivated in life. She does not know very many commands, but she is not unruly or ill mannered. Princess is the perfect dog for ANY home! Kids? Great! Cats? Great! None of that? GREAT! To adopt an animal from our sanctuary, the first step is to submit an application. *Please note we adopt within the state of MICHIGAN ONLY* The process takes a few weeks. It involves vet and personal reference checks and interview of applicant. There are no exceptions … Please remember that we are all volunteers and it may take a week or so after we receive your application to be contacted. Sometimes several people may be interested in the same pet, so please remember that not every animal is right for every home. To ensure a healthy and happy placement for our pets and their new families, we take the time to evaluate each animal’s temperament and try to match the right animal to the right family. OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES All fees are subject to change without notice. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee the animal will be adopted to you. We do not work on a first come first serve basis. We collect applications and make our best determination on where we think the animal would thrive the best. We have the right to deny any applicant without explanation, and the decision is final. Very rarely do we get written documentation of an animal’s age and breed. We do not guarantee these, we work with professionals to help make the best determination. All of our foster homes follow a 30 Day Stay policy and do not make ANY exceptions. This policy requires every animal who comes into foster care, to stay in foster care for a minimum of 30 day before going to their forever home. Story
Hi, Her name is Luna and we love her, however she is very active and requires space and time. My husband and I work a lot and even though we take her out regularly, we feel she deserves a more active lifestyle. She is extremely friendly and LOVES people. A little shy around other dogs but adjusts quickly. She is also VERY smart. It took her only a few hours to learn commands like sit, down, stop, drop it, and pee pee. She is also very expressive with lots of attitude. She requires lots of chew toys and outdoor time. She sits in front of the door when she needs the restroom so she knows “pee pee outside” but due to my schedule she’s gone in the house (not her fault she has to go). And also sits when she’s ready to go inside. She loves car rides, long walks, belly rubs and pup cups. Oh yeah, she’s only 9 months old but very big girl!

Story
Crumb Crumb is a Male Lab mix. DOB: December 7, 2023 Adoption fee: $100.00 I am a very nice boy who has been overlooked one too many times. I am a little shy but that’s what happens when a guy like me spends too much time in a shelter. I go for walks with volunteers, and I love it. I am not going to be a very big dog, maybe 40 pounds give or take a few pounds. I am a quiet guy but will bark when excited or the other dogs are barking of course. I should match with another dog pending a meet and greet. I should adjust to a home with a dog friendly cat. I will do my best in a home with children 8 years and older. I would love a physically fenced-in yard. I may require it pending your previous experience and location. I am not fit for apartment life. I will make a great addition to just about any family. I can’t wait to meet my forever family.

Story
Make sure to let us know you saw Coal on Adopt-a-pet. Coal is a recent owner surrender that we are already in love with! This pup went from being an indoor dog to a chain tie out due to the owner's health decline. The sweetness seen in his eyes, he just wants to be part of a family again. Coal has lived with other dogs, with proper introduction he may do well with new friends. Unknown cat behavior, we only say no small children due to his age and tolerance.

Story
Hey there, I'm Skymir, your lively 1.5 year-old male black lab mix, weighing in at a solid 50 pounds. My tail never stops wagging, and my heart is as big as they come. I found myself alone in a southern shelter when I was just a puppy. I was so scared, but thankfully a kind rescuer scooped in to save me. Now I’m here in Michigan (being fostered near Coldwater) looking for my forever family!I live for those moments of butt wiggles and playful romps with my foster siblings. Chewing on a good, hard bone? It's my idea of heaven. My playful spirit shines through in everything I do, from chasing squirrels to snuggling up after a long day. I'm a quick learner, especially when treats are involved! Training sessions are my jam, and I'm always eager to please. Sometimes I get a bit too excited and might jump up, but with a little patience and guidance, I'll get the hang of it.At first, I might be a bit reserved, but give me some time, and I'll warm up to you in no time. Crisp mornings call for cuddles in my cozy crate, while sunny afternoons are perfect for basking in the warmth of the sun. I would thrive in a home with a FENCED-IN YARD where I can run and explore to my heart's content. Whether I'm playing with another dog or keeping an active family on their toes, I'm happiest when I have company.I’m fully-vetted, housebroken, crate-trained and ready to join your family with an adoption fee of $300. Ready to make me a part of your family?  For questions or to request an adoption application, shoot an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. I can’t wait to meet you! October 2, 2024, 9:07 pm
