Domino was found as a stray and never claimed. He was born in March of 2022. He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. Domino has some dog friends here, but isn't fond of others, so an introduction to your dog would be a good idea to see if they click. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett arrived from the city pound on 7/12/2025 when his legal hold was finished. He had been found tied to a table at a local park. He is approximately 2 to 3 years old and is a mystery mixed breed. Maybe some hound, shepherd, lab...it's a guessing game. He does have some crazy double dew claws on his hind feet that give him a unique quality. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first. However he's really quite loving and goofy. We think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all. We're not sure if he has ever been around young kids. He will require some basic training in all areas and will need regular exercise. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spinner arrived from the city pound on Sept. 13 when his stray hold expired and no one had claimed him. To say he is exuberant is a gross understatement. He is EXUBERANT! We think he's an approximately 1 year old black lab (mix?) and the puppy is still strong within him. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his fee is $150.  Spinner will need a lot of basic training and a whole lot of exercise. He's a fun-loving guy who hasn't quite learned the concept of "chill". He does do well other active dogs of similar size but his energy might be way over the top for cats. Kids? No small kids for this guy, unless you want them to take flight. All kidding aside, Spinner has a heck of a lot of potential. He just needs a good home to harness it and give him the training he deserves and requires. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Big, beautiful, and full of life — Channing is a young chocolate lab with a story that deserves the happiest of endings. He came to BENCHS after being seized by the Police Department when he was found abandoned in a rental unit. When he arrived to the impound, he was severely emaciated… but this incredible boy never stopped fighting for his second chance. Today, thanks to good care and good food, Channing is a healthy nearly 80 lbs, and he’s finally ready to find the family he’s always deserved. Channing is estimated to be around 2 years old, though he has all the playful, goofy energy of a much younger pup. True to his lab roots, he LOVES toys — give him a big bucket of them and he’ll happily scatter them around the house as he entertains himself. He thrives with exercise, enrichment, and an active lifestyle. He is sweet and friendly, but because he still takes treats with a lot of enthusiasm, we recommend a home without very small children while he continues working on gentle manners. He is also a strong dog physically and will benefit from a family comfortable with big, energetic breeds. Channing is dog-selective, especially with intact males (which he did not care for at the impound). He may do best as an only dog or with a carefully matched companion. We’re still unsure how he feels about cats. Despite everything he’s been through, Channing is a happy, joyful dog with a huge heart. He’s ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter — one filled with love, play, stability, and a family who will never abandon him again. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal, energetic companion who will adore you with his whole giant lab heart, Channing might be your perfect match.
