Story
Are you looking for a stately gentleman to share your days with? Do you want to walk some days, run some, and then some just sit on the couch? Are you over puppy antics and like your shoes and furniture intact? Well, well have I got the guy for you...Theodore!Theo is a great dog. He knows his role and his spot in the world. He is house trained, beautiful in his crate and walks nicely on his leash. He loves to go running with his foster dad and is equally as happy to let the younger dogs run and stay home. He does great with the other dogs and kind of puts up with the cats. He is respectful with the kids in his foster home (12,10,4) but would prefer older kids or an adult home.He will be a fantastic addition to many types of homes. He is simply looking for someone to spend his days with.Theodore is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He has also tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $200.00 plus sales tax. Please submit and adoption application if you would like to give Theodore a home.

Story
Say hey to Daric! Daric came to us after being found as a stray that was never claimed. We believe he was born in July of 2021. Since Daric came to us as a stray, we can not be sure who or what he has experience with, but we believe he would do well with most ages, and perhaps another dog his size that is female. We are not sure how he would do with a cat in his new home. Daric is a very sweet boy that loves attention, and being around people. He is a very food motivated, and knows how to sit, but he isn't sure what toys are quite yet. Daric may need a small refresher course on potty training when learning a new home and routine, but he does pretty well keeping a clean kennel here at the shelter. He is looking forward to finding his forever family! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Ladies and Gentlemen - Domino "Never have to worry about what is worst or what is best" Oh oh Domino Domino was found as a stray and never claimed. He was born in March of 2022 - we think :) He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. He isn't overly fond of the other dogs here, so he might do better as a single dog until he gets used to being in a home setting again. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Raven explored the neighborhoods and streets of SE Albert Lea on her own, but decided life with a friend would be way more fun! Raven came in as a stray and was born in the spring of 2022. Raven is a loving girl with a great personality. She doesn't mind most of the dogs here at the shelter, but really prefers time with people. She is hoping we can help her find a home and a best friend of her own. It might be you she is looking for - come down and take her for a walk - she would love to meet you! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sonya came to the shelter from the city pound when her hold was finished and no one had claimed her. She appears to be around a year old and looks like a black lab/pit bull type mix. There could be some other breeds in there, too. She's very loving and full of enthusiasm. She has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $150. Sonya does know how to sit (most of the time) but will most likely need some basic training. She is a very energetic young dog who will require regular exercise. We do think she would do well with other dogs (males preferably). We have no way of knowing about cats. Kids over 5 would be best as she is very bouncy and needs training. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Please keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 7:21 pm
