Story
I got Beau 6 years ago from a breeder in High Point at birth. He is 6 years old and full of life. We live in a neighborhood with a small backyard where he stays at. He is an extremely playful and loving dog. He just wants to lick and love on everybody. We recently have a new baby and between the baby and work I am not able to spend much time with him, and my wife is not a huge dog person. I want him to have someone who can love on him more and play with him. He is full of energy and loves to run. He is registered, and has an incredible pedigree with numerous field trial dogs is his lineage. He's been around kids a couple times and seemed to be great with them. I feel like there is a home out there where he can get more love and attention.

Miller not only does great Tongue Out Tuesday poses, he is super photogenic! Our volunteer said, `Miller is such a fun-loving boy. He is so loving, in fact, that he wants to be so close making it hard to take a photo, lol! He is cute, playful, and energetic—just what you’d expect by looking at him.` Miller is around 9 months old and is ready to be your sidekick and best friend in life. Story
`Well, phooey! I thought it was Friday.` Sorry, Piper, one more day, sweetie! This little girl is ready to make every day a happy day for a lucky person or family. Piper is a little over a year old and she`s a great medium size at 37 lbs. She is quite friendly and will make herself at home in your lap. She has very nice leash manners, knows `sit`, takes treats gently, and loves to have fun. Piper is an active girl who is still very puppy-ish. She can be a little mouthy, but patience, consistency, and a small amount of effort will correct this!Schedule a visit at www.burlingtonnc.gov/visitBAS or stop by our facility during regular business hours!

Story
Paradise is here to wrap up Tongue Out Tuesday. This pretty brindle girl is about 3 years old and she has been waiting very patiently for someone to come adopt her. She was surrendered due to no fault of her own and lived with another dog in her prior home. She is a sweet, loving girl and she is ready to start a new life with you!Dog Day Out notes, 8/19/23: I took Paradise to Great Bend Park and on the Glencoe section of the Haw River Trail. Paradise was a lot of fun! She was excited to be on the trails! She pulls mostly because I was not fast enough for her so she would probably be a great running buddy. She was very good at staying on trail and we let her get in the river a few times along the way so she could cool off. She loved the water! The more time we spent with her she started to slow down to my usual pace and when I stopped to let my friend catch up to us Paradise nicely waited with me while looking at me to see when I’d say - okay let’s go! She would do these cute gallops when she started going again. She wanted to meet everyone she saw and loves to give hugs. She would sit for treats and is food motivated which would probably help with any training. She has such soft fur. Paradise has so much exuberance being outside it made me happy to see her enjoying herself. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog and I enjoyed spending time with her!Dog Day Out notes, 9/2/23: When I arrived at BAS Saturday for dog day out, the staff had picked Paradise for me as a great dog to take out for the day, citing that she loved to hug and was a lot of fun. They were absolutely right, Paradise has a LOT of love to give and isn`t bashful about showing her affection. She likes to sit close on car rides once she gets her fill of wind in her ears. Wasn`t afraid to put her torso in the breeze, either! She did great on the leash and loved exploring and smelling all the trails at Davidson Park. Paradise is sure to make some lucky adopter very happy. Never barked, never lunged other than at one squirrel, just an overall sweetheart. I was also impressed at how well she would listen when we had a short visit at my house. We only encountered a few other dogs on the trail and Paradise was not fazed by them, just kept to her business of walking and sniffing.Schedule a visit today with this adorable girl @ www.burlingtonnc.gov/visitbas

Story
Foster notes, 9/18/23:Imelda is an absolute sweetheart. She is very affectionate and loves nothing more than cuddling up to you or just being in the same room. She enjoys long walks and playing in the yard - she especially loves to roll around in the grass. She also likes carrying toys around in her mouth, and when she`s happy she does a little prance like a deer. I would describe her as low-medium energy. She`s a very calm dog and people have commented on how well-behaved she is. I just took her to an adoption fair today at a pet store and she just chilled the entire time. She`s very good on a leash, and except when she sees a cat, she does not pull or tug. She is not destructive and has never damaged any of my furniture or belongings, though she will eventually take some squeakers out of toys if you don`t watch her. She also is fully house trained and has not gone potty in the house. She is not reactive, and she does not bark at people, cars outside, other dogs, etc. She does get a little bit vocal (like whining or short barks) when she needs something, but only to tell you that she wants more water or has to go outside. We are still working on her crate training skills - she might do best in a home where someone is around at least part of the day. She does need to be on a leash when outside. She is not an escape artist, but if she gets outside without one, she will happily take herself for a walk around the block! My yard is unfenced, so I put a tether outside for her - that way she can romp around while I sit outside. I don`t have any cats in the home - only interactions with outdoor cats. While out on walks, Imelda has been overly interested in cats. She does not bark, but she pulls on the leash and I can`t distract her/divert her attention while she stares at them.Schedule your visit today with this dog @ www.burlingtonnc.gov/visitbas
