Story
Introducing Piper! 🐾 Piper is a 16 wk old lab mix that was dumped and found his way to a foster home when animal control told them he would be euthanized otherwise. 😭 Piper loves other dogs and children. He has been exposed to cats and is just curious about them at this time but has not shown any prey drive! We are sure with some training he would learn to be respectful of them 🖤 This handsome boy loves to be with his people and would do best with someone who can spend lots of time snuggling him. He is working on kennel training and house training and picking it up quickly! 🐶 Piper is playful and loves all toys, especially balls. He will make a great family companion! 🏡 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Ms Kitty, a small to medium Labrador mix breed pup about 4 months old who continues to blossom and thrive in rescue. After she was heartlessly abandoned rescue stepped in and has lovingly reenforced her indomitable spirit and nurtured her sweet nature. Kitty gets along with dogs, cats and even chickens. Everyone it seems is a potential playmate. As you can see from her pictures, Kitty also loves being with children. She s crate trained and is working on house training. She has learned to walk well on a leash and she adores any outing. She is super cuddly and very inquisitive and will sit and watch her foster mom cook for hours. Kitty loves toys, enjoys car rides and is always ready for the next adventure. Foster mom joyfully describes how Kitty is her a precious little kitchen buddy. She loves to snuggle while I watch tv yet she is happy to play with others when I can’t be her entertainment. Kitty is an ideal lovable companion! PUPPIES GROW INTO the expectations of their families through consistent love, caring and training. Puppies cannot be adopted to homes where they are left alone for more than 3-4 hours. Families with children must have established boundaries for both the puppy and the children. PLEASE REMEMBER: The specific breed of any dog abandoned to a shelter or rescue is only the best informed determination of rescue in agreement with our veterinarians.
