Story
As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Meet LINDA is a sweet black and white lab/pointer mix pup who landed in the shelter with her littermates: Elise, Harry and Melvin. Their humans let them down 💔. She’s around 4 months old, she is a playful girl, loves playing with her toys and she has unlimited love to give, she would love a home of her own!!

Story
Meet Frisky! Frisky is a 2-year-old lab/shepherd mix with the sweetest personality and the perfect mix of playful energy and loving companionship. She may be missing a leg, but being a tripod certainly doesnt slow her down one bit! She gets around great, loves life, and is always ready for fun and adventures with her people. She can be a little timid at first, but she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly affectionate once she feels comfortable. Frisky does wonderful with kids and other dogs, loves car rides, and would happily be your sidekick for everyday outings or cozy nights at home. Shes crate trained, housebroken, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. Frisky is ready to find a forever family who will love her just the way she is

Story
Meet Newton, an all-around wonderful dog with a fun-loving personality and a heart full of affection. Found as a stray in AK, this handsome boy has settled beautifully into foster care and is now ready to find the forever family he deserves.Newton truly enjoys life and loves being part of whatever is going on around him. He thrives on attention, happily soaking up affection and returning it tenfold. His easygoing nature and friendly temperament make him a joy to have around. One of Newton's best qualities is how well he gets along with everyone he meets. He has lived successfully with young children, including kids under six years old, and has also been wonderful with his foster's elderly mother. He enjoys the company of other dogs, has met plenty of canine friends at the dog park, and shared his foster home with multiple dogs without issue. Cats? No problem there either—he previously lived with six of them and got along just fine. He has even proven himself trustworthy around chickens!Newton is house trained, crate trained, and has excellent manners in the home. He stays quietly in his kennel at night and whenever his foster family is away. He travels well, enjoys car rides, and has even accompanied his foster family into stores, where he behaved like a perfect gentleman. Newton still has puppy energy and will require avenues to burn that off so a fenced yard with regular play and multiple walks a day will be needed for him. This handsome boy knows several commands, including sit, shake, and kennel, and he learns quickly. While he may pull a little on leash at times, he responds well to correction and continues to improve. With his friendly personality, adaptable nature, and ability to fit in with just about everyone, Newton would make a fantastic addition to most households. Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a family companion, or simply a loyal best friend, Newton is ready to fill that role with enthusiasm and love.Name: NewtonBreed: Labrador Retriever/Crossbreed   (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: MaleAge: 1 year  (estimated)Weight: 47.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:    MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Sweet 9mo 32lbs Puff from the Bahamas   All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
