Story
adoption donation : $499 weight  40 lbs  Age 8 months as of 5/17        Charlotte is sweet  and gentle girl who is shy at first but then warms up and will be your best friend and companion. She and her siblings were dumped at a gas station in a rural part of Mississippi, they were starving when the Wags director  found them and took them in to the rescue. They were nursed them back to health and given the vet care they needed  and are now ready for loving homes of their own.       Charlotte is all tail wags and wiggles and loves to cuddle, she likes toys and bones and gets along with all the dogs at the rescue.  She  is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher course while she adjusts to a new home. Charlotte occasionally will limp, she was taken to the vet and had x-rays and it was determined that it’s an old injury that probably feels stiff to her after she’s been sleeping. The vet does not think she is in any pain and thinks she is just fine, just will occasionally lift her back leg when she is running.    Charlotte is spayed, and up-to-date on vaccines. She is still in Mississippi, but can come up on any one of the Transports that brings the dogs to the northeast every Saturday. We are open  to a foster to adopt to make sure it’s a good fit.   We think that Charlotte would do great in a variety of situations, she would love a home with another dog to play with, she is fine if she’s left on her own, she’d love to take walks, but it’s also very chill in the house. We just think she’s a sweet, loving girl and deserves the best life after everything she’s been through.      Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 40 lbs  Age 6 months         Bojangles is just a joy and has the best ears ever! This gentle boy is super friendly, he loves everyone he meets and he’s great with other dogs and cats. He’s just a loving and friendly very good boy!   Not long ago Bo wandered up to the front porch of a home in rural Mississippi all alone, scared and hungry,  but his tail never stopped wagging. Sadly in Mississippi dumping puppies is very common. But Bo was a lucky pup, the family took him and cared for him and then called Wags to help. Bo has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is currently in Mississippi, but we are hoping to send him to the northeast on one of the transports that leaves every Friday from Tupelo.      Bo is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as he adjusts to a new home. He loves balls and splashing in the water. This wiggly, kissy face boy with those awesome  ears ever will make a wonderful member of the family.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 200 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! Story
Ranger is a sweet, goofy boy with so much love to give. We surprised our 3 girls with him in Nov 2020 after picking him up in NJ from a woman rescuing puppies from SC. He was about 4 months old then, so he’ll turn 5 this July. He’s super loyal, playful, and full of personality. He loves to follow his favorite person around and enjoys a good zoomie in the yard. Ranger is smart and knows commands, but he can get overly excited in high-energy situations or around new people, so he needs a calm, structured home with a secure outdoor space. He does best with someone patient and experienced who can help him feel safe and confident. No small kids or busy homes, please. Ranger has a ton of love to give — he just needs the right match to help him shine. Ranger isn’t for everyone, but for the right person, he’ll be everything.

Most times our dogs get adopted before a foster home becomes available - and if so, they go straight to adopters home. Foster parents talk to adopters and feel confident that this will be a match before our dogs are transported up. Also if by some chance it is not a match we have a safety net in place as we ask that adopters to let us know that it is not a match and we direct you to take the dog to a foster home or boarding kennel once that is arranged. If necessary, we will ask you to foster the dog until a foster home can be arranged. Transport details: Mighty Mutts Shipping, Pets LLC (petsllc.net) or CAFA Transport will deliver our precious pups on commercial rescue animal transport to designated locations. The fee is 225.00 which IS INCLUDED in your adoption fee already. MA and NH RESIDENTS: If you are a Massachusetts or New Hampshire residence an additional fee of $155.00 will apply due to State quarantine fee requirements. If the dog is in a foster home in New England, this fee will be added in the adoption fee regardless of where the adopters home is located making the total adoption fee $775.00 for puppies and adults. This includes a 48 quarantine, recheck by a MA licensed veterinarian, and issued a MA health certificate. Visit all our available dogs & cats at www.cenlaallianceforanimals.com.
