Story
Meet Rocky! A gentle, timid, sensitive boy looking for a low traffic and serene environment to call home. Rocky is a fantastic dog, but he needs an adopter that is willing to go at his speed. He can be very nervous around new situations and new people, and he can take some extra time and patience to warm up. Once you are on his good side, he is an extremely affectionate dog that loves cuddling and attention. We are looking for Rocky to be the only pet in the home since he has had experiences with other dogs in the past that have made him nervous around them. He also has the urge to chase after small animals, so a home without cats or small animals would be best for him as well. Rocky will be a fantastic addition to a family that is looking for a loving, quiet and unassuming dog. If you are interested in Rocky, please call us here at (401)846-8276. You are welcome to stop by our Animal Care and Adoption Center here in Middletown, RI to meet with him at any time. Feel free to visit our website, www.potterleague.org, for more information on adopting from us.

Adoption Donation   $ 599 Located:  MS (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx   3   years old Weight:  35  lbs.     He’s so sweet. Loves to ride in the car and on the golf cart. Hasn’t bothered my cats and has gotten along with my other dogs.   If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  friendsoha@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 3 years (as of 1/15/26) Weight: 65 pounds (as of 2/8/26) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Give a big hug to Gloria! This sweet, loving, super-affectionate Lab mix is looking for a forever home that can offer plenty of cuddling and lap time. A total people pleaser, she's not one to seek out the spotlight, but is just happy to be part of the family. At three years old, Gloria has the maturity to fit right in as a responsible member of the household, but still maintains a youthful spirit and enjoys playtime with human or canine companions; she especially loves playing chase and bitey-mouth.  Fully housebroken, calm in the car, and crate-trained, Gloria would do best with an owner who's home a lot, but is perfectly comfortable in a crate when left alone. She's a bit of a couch potato, extremely gentle and even-tempered around other dogs, but will need some extra training to lose her habit of pulling while on leash. Abandoned on a rural property just before birthing a litter of puppies (they're in foster care for now), Gloria needs -- and deserves -- a stable, loving family willing to open up their hearts and their home. Come meet Gloria to see if she's the one. Meet Buddy! This beautiful Labrador and German Shorthaired Pointer puppy has bright, piercing eyes and adorable, floppy ears. We believe he was born around the fourth of July, and has a fun-loving, firecracker personality to match! You’ll never have a dull moment with this guy around. He loves to run, play with toys and meet new people. He’s very playful with other animals in the home. His foster thinks he’d do well in a busy home with kids because he's pretty well mannered overall. He also does well in the crate, has had no accidents in the house, and walks pretty good on the leash. We strongly recommend that all our dogs (especially puppies like Buddy) attend obedience class to learn commands, socialize and build confidence, and strengthen that ever-important bond with their human family. It’s lots of fun, too! Ready to make a new best friend for life? Consider adopting Buddy and fill out an application today! Story
Meet Dougie, an adorable 8-month-old Labrador Retriever mix with a heart full of love and joy! Dougie was found as a stray in Arkansas, but he has been thriving in a rescue program for the past several months. Dougie is a healthy pup who has been fully vetted. He is microchipped, neutered, and has received all core vaccinations. A licensed veterinarian has examined him, giving him a clean bill of health. Dougie's playful and joyful nature shines through, especially when he's around other dogs. He loves making new furry friends and enjoys every moment of playtime. One of Dougie's favorite activities is splashing around in water. Whether it's a kiddie pool or a water hose, this water-loving pup is always ready for some aquatic fun. While Dougie is a bundle of joy, he does have a bit of fear when it comes to men. However, with patience and gentle interaction, he's been slowly coming around and making great progress. Currently residing in Arkansas, Dougie is ready to find his forever home in New England. Transport can be arranged for the right home, ensuring Dougie arrives safely and comfortably. Dougie's adoption fee is $350, which covers the cost of transport. If you're looking for a playful, water-loving companion with a big heart, Dougie is the perfect match for you! Adopt Dougie and give him the loving home he deserves! ##2094568##
