Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application        HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see        HERE Age: 7 months (as of 4/19/24) Weight: 16 pounds (as of 2/15/24) Location: RI    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Value and her littermates have been kenneled and separated from home life since early October 2023. They are shy and slow to warm up to people and experiences because their interactions have been limited. They  did not have many social interactions during a young age as they were battling parvo virus. They are currently working on socialization in controlled environments. They are looking for quiet, adult homes who will slowly integrate them into new experiences.   Value has shown to be very fearful of humans, but thrives around other dogs.  While we strive to break down barriers to adoption we recognize that environment can have a large impact on dogs like Value.  Due to this we will only be considering home with other dogs and a fenced in yard for this girl.  The fence is to limit handling from the humans at the beginning as this will help to build trust and that bond.  We have not seen any aggression from Value, but rather significant fear.  She loves being around other dogs and they help her confidence. She would love another canine sibling or two!!  She continues to learn about this big world, so will need someone patient to show her that treats, playtime and people can be awesome.  Value struggles particularly with touch and handling so we are going very slow and giving her space.  She would do best in a household that is quiet and predictable that does not have many social expectations. We strongly recommend that all of our dogs, especially puppies, attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it can build confidence and socialization for the dog. Value would benefit from working with a Behavior Consultant or Behaviorist to help her with transition.  Medical Note: Val is a parvo survivor, and she is still gaining weight. Her last symptoms were on 12/6/2023, and we are so happy that she is okay now!  An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see      HERE      for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:    www.sosarl.org/aa/ *  *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. April 29, 2024, 2:09 pm

Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application        HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see        HERE Age: 6 months (as of 3/19/24) Weight: 20 pounds (as of 3/1/24) Location: RI    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Love Affirmation looks to be a pint-sized lab mix puppy who is a sweetie-pie.  Love is crate trained and working on her leash and house-training skills. She enjoys toys and engaging in a game  of tug-of-war or fetch.  She is still learning about this big world, so will need someone patient but she is catching on quickly that treats, excursions, toys and playtime are awesome!  This litter did not have many social interactions during a young age as they were battling parvo virus. They are currently working on socialization in controlled environments.  Love loves other dogs and looks to them for guidance.  She is looking for a home with another playful dog to show her the ropes.  She can be nervous around new people, particularly with touch and handling so we are going slow while teaching her that pets are good!  She has made great strides while in foster care but is still looking for a patient home who does not have too many social expectations of her.   She would do best in a household that is quiet and predictable without any young children.  Once she is comfortable you see her playful, puppy side come out and she is just so cute.  She loves a good play session with other puppies or even adult dogs.  She is very easy to fall in "Love" with! We strongly recommend that all of our dogs, especially puppies, attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it can build confidence and socialization for the dog. It's also fun! It often takes a lot of time, energy, and patience to bring up a puppy--and it's absolutely worth it. Medical Note:  Love is a parvo survivor. Her last symptoms were on 12/6/2023, and we are so happy that she is okay now and ready to find her furever home! Quarterback is a very happy, energetic lab with a handsome chocolate coat. The two-year-old pup is affectionate, outgoing, intelligent, and even tempered. He has many hobbies including football (hence his namesake), playing with toys, going on walks/runs/hikes, wrestling and playing chase with other pups, and cuddling just to name a few. Quarterback loves anything and everything outside, especially sunbeams. He has a lot of energy and is expected to thrive in a high activity household.   Quarterback's house, crate, and leash training are in progress, but he has not had any accidents. He also already knows sit and shake and rides great in the car! We are thinking they are a lab / Great Pyrenees mix and expect them to grow to be large dogs. They are beautiful, affectionate, love attention and people, and are dog friendly! They have had limited exposure to integrated home life thus far and will need an adopter willing to crate and house train them.
