Story
Lil Mac is a total ladies’ man, but lately, he’s been proving that with a little trust (and a lot of treats), he can be a guys’ guy too! His foster dad has completely won him over, and watching Lil Mac’s confidence bloom has been incredible. This sweet, sensitive boy is learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. He recently started training sessions and is doing amazing—eager to learn, gaining confidence every day, and showing off just how smart he really is. Lil Mac is still most comfortable in a calm, cozy home where he can relax and be himself. Once you’re part of his circle, you’ll have a snuggle buddy for life, loyal, loving, and happiest right by your side. He’s been cat-tested and does great with feline friends, too! Are you a dog-loving lady (or a gentle soul like his foster dad) with a soft spot for underdogs? Lil Mac just might be your guy. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting! Peanut and her littermates were found stray as 5 week old puppies in rural Alabama. She looks like a different dog than what we rescued on Friday before Labor Day. The puppies loved people and kids, which makes us think they were played with when very small and then no one held them when Their skin was so bad. They are healed beautifully and ready to spread some unconditional love! We estimate this darling with the best wiggle butt ever to be 11 weeks on October 11. She weighs about 13 pounds and should be a medium sized dog. Most Alabama mixed breeds have multiple breeds in their DNA. Peanut has something that is very soft and her mix because her coat is silky soft. Her color is fawn. Peanut lives in a foster home with a senior couple, adult dogs, and her brother. She has been exposed to a cat and she does not have a prey drive. Peanuts adoption includes spay, rabies, puppy vaccines and boosters, microchip, dewormed, and Peanut receives parasite prevention. The adoption also includes transportation and a health check and health certificate from the vet before travel. Next transport date delivers in RI 10/22. Adoption fee total is $585 Adoption $345 Transport $175 Vet check $65 All of our dogs live in foster homes and transport home when they are adopted. We put you in touch with the foster family for FaceTime, chat, etc. We have been adopting dogs to families across the northeast for over 15 years! Serious Adopters should fill out the application online. Copy and paste the link into your browser. https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157 Justsaveone@gmail.com

Story
Meet a Reina, a sweet, petite timid girl who's getting braver by the day. Reina spent the past year in southern foster care learning to trust humans after being used as target practice by some evil humans in Arkansas. Now in New England, Reina is continuing to gain confidence and learning how to dog.Miss Reina is incredibly brave and recently began venturing outside, following the lead of other confident dogs. She has now learned outside is a safe place and even gets excited about it. And most important, will now will go outside to potty!!Look at her enjoying her foster yard:https://youtube.com/shorts/8cOZo6NqvIc?feature=sharedhttps://youtube.com/shorts/gRjZeDnKnjE?si=RMCzZi2630ZP1Qk2Leashes are still too overwhelming for her, so a secure, fenced-in yard is mandatory as well as at least one other confident dog in the home.Reina needs at least one happy, confident dog in Reina's in her new home. This is an absolute must. She loves playing with toys and collecting Nylabones in a pile. She's cautious with people but enjoys butt scratches and eagerly takes treats from your hand. Reina is playful, sweet, and quirky, often approaching for pets but retreating when she's had enough. She loves to show her excitement with butt wiggles and the cutest "awooo" companied by big spins. Reina would thrive in a home with other dogs along with someone to nurture her playful spirit. her cautious nature, she thrives with other dogs and shows a joyful, docile side in the right environment.Reina needs a calm, patient environment with understanding adopters willing to give her time to adjust. Shy dogs prefer environments, making them perfect for people who appreciate a relaxed, low-key lifestyle. They will happily join you for serene moments, offering a gentle, soothing presence .Earning the trust of a shy dog is an incredibly rewarding experience. When they do open up to you, the connection is unmatched, and you will feel the depth of their gratitude and love every single day.Reina is a sweet, sweet soul who has have already made incredible progress and is ready for the next step in her journey—finding a loving home that will continue to help her heal and flourish. Story
Say hello to Debo, the lovable senior gentleman with a heart that’s still full of puppy joy! At 11 years young, Debo arrived at a Mississippi shelter after being left behind by his previous family and never claimed. Even after all he’s been through, he showed nothing but warmth—walking right up to the shelter staff, tail wagging, eager for affection and connection.Debo is the kind of dog who reminds you why seniors are so special. He has the soul of an old friend, but the spirit of a younger pup. He still loves to run and play and he absolutely lights up when he’s with people. He’s house and crate trained, walks wonderfully on a leash, and has gotten along well with the other dogs. When he’s really happy, he can get a little jumpy—his way of saying, “I’m so excited to love you!”This sweet boy is searching for a calm, comfy home where his golden years can be filled with comfort, warmth, and companionship. If you’re ready to open your heart and let a gentle, joyful senior dog become part of your life, Debo is waiting with open paws.Name: DeboBreed: Labrador Retriever/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 11 years  (estimated)Weight: 57.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing.  Has finished pre-treatment.  PAWS covers all costs of treatment, you provide the TLC.Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $350.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:   MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Nestle is a senior southern gentleman who is one of the many dogs from Meadow Rescue in Memphis - their caretaker for many many years passed away leaving approx 65 dogs. Walter was an official greeter to the rescue. Paws New England took in many, mostly the seniors from this group because we just love them.Nestle is in a foster home now and has done great with humans and the other dogs (some of whom he knows of course). Nestle is a wonderful companion. He loves to be loved - a true sweetheart! Nestle would do best with a family who is home a lot and has a dog sibling to keep Nestlé company when they are out running occasional errands. If you are retired or work from home - that would be the perfect situation for Nestle.Nestlé loves to be loved. A true sweetheart. If you would like to know more about this handsome and sweet older guy, please put in an application. We've had his veterinary needs met including vaccines, neuter and all that stuff - he tested positive for heartworm but has gotten treatment. As a senior dog, he may need things in the future so need a family/person who understands that.If you've not ever adopted or had a senior dog, there's nothing quite like it. Please consider giving it a try.Name: Nestle MeadowoodBreed: Labrador Retriever/HoundSex: MaleAge: 11 years (estimated)Weight: 63.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive in April and has completed treatmentMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: No; teens and up best to respect a senior pupGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $300  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Memphis in Foster CareIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England. Story
Loui Robinson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Our guess is Loui is possibly a golden retriever & Great Pyrenees mix. He is a giant puppy and still growing. He’s 100% adorable and 100% puppy. He will definitely need training with puppy behaviors like counter surfing, leash walking and chewing. It will be best if Loui does not go to a home with small children as he doesn’t know his size and will knock over little kiddos. If you’re looking for a handsome, supersized, goofy puppy Loui may be the guy for you.
