Story
Fiona and her sister, Erin, lost their family in a house fire. They and another dog survived. They are typical resilient lab puppies with all the love and happy-go-lucky energy that comes with them. Both are confident and are learning manners and basic commands. They do well in busy social settings, walk well on a leash and love people of all ages. They think all dogs are their playmates, seem mildly interested in cats, and adore children! They would love an active home with a fenced yard where they could run out their zoomies! They are crate-trained and travel well. Est. DOB Sept. 2024 WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $490 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Duke was surrendered by his elderly owner through no fault of his own. He is 5 yrs old and 64lbs and would love to make friends with your playful dog! Duke is your typical, active lab. He loves just about all humans, but can be choosy about his dog friends, seemingly preferring larger, lower energy dogs. He does fairly well on leash but could use some impulse-control training. He currently lives with a few other dogs and with human children. He would love a large yard and a larger-breed dog sibling to play with. We are re-evaluating a medical condition, so Duke may need periodic medication. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Story
Meet Zeke — our gorgeous, two-year-old Shepherd/Aussie mix who has been patiently waiting for his forever family. 🖤✨ Zeke came to us from our rural shelter partner several weeks ago, and since then he has truly thrived in his foster home. This boy is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and has that classic working-breed heart that wants nothing more than to bond with his people and make them proud. Zeke is fully crate trained, does wonderfully with all people, and is absolutely obsessed with other dogs. He greets every new pup with a wagging tail and an open heart, and he gains so much confidence from being around dog friends. While he can get a little anxious in brand-new environments, once he has a moment to take it all in, he settles beautifully and becomes the sweetest, happiest guy in the room. And yet… he keeps getting overlooked. Like so many black-coated dogs, Zeke is a victim of Black Dog Syndrome, where dogs with darker fur are often passed by simply because of their color. It breaks our hearts, because Zeke is pure sunshine on the inside — gentle, affectionate, goofy, and endlessly loyal. He has been one of our longer-term dogs, and we cannot understand why. He is the full package: smart, loving, trainable, great with dogs and people, and ready to be someone’s adventure buddy and best friend. Zeke is so deserving of a family who will finally see him for the incredible dog he is. If you’ve been looking for a loyal, devoted companion to brighten your days, this sweet boy is waiting with his whole heart. 🐾💛 #adopt #adoptdontshop #rescue #rescuedog #rescuedoglove

Story
Seven tiny puppies, one very uncertain beginning, and an incredible turnaround made possible by compassion and teamwork. 🐶✨ These sweet babies came to us from one of our rural shelter partners after being found as strays. They did have a mama, but she was still so young herself and understandably overwhelmed. She wanted nothing to do with the puppies, and without a mom to care for them, the shelter was no place for such fragile little lives. Knowing these babies needed more than what could be provided in that environment, the shelter advocated hard for them—and we’re so thankful they did. An amazing foster immediately stepped up, opening their home and heart not only to seven tiny puppies, but also becoming a loving surrogate when these babies needed it most. They’ve only been in foster care for a few days, but the transformation has been incredible. It was clear they needed some medical attention and consistent care, and now they’re truly thriving. Full bellies, healthy weight gain, playful energy, and personalities starting to shine through more every day. This is exactly what rescue is all about. Despite their rough start, these puppies are incredibly social and resilient. They love other dogs, are wonderful with people of all ages, do great with cats, and adore kids. They’re happy, playful, curious little pups who are learning what it means to feel safe and loved. In about 1–2 weeks, these seven will be ready to head off to their forever homes. Homes where they’ll never have to worry about being unwanted, overlooked, or left behind again. For now, they’re doing exactly what puppies should be doing—playing, growing, and soaking up all the love they were once missing. We are so proud of how far they’ve already come and so grateful to the fosters and shelter partners who made their rescue possible. Their future is bright, and we can’t wait to watch it unfold. 🖤🐾

Story
Meet Turnip 🥕 — the only boy in the litter and an 8-week-old super mutt who came to us from one of our rural shelter partners with his five sisters. Turnip’s striking black-and-white coat makes him stand out right away, but it’s his sweet, gentle personality that truly wins hearts. This little guy is full of puppy charm and has the softest way of making everyone around him fall in love. Turnip loves other dogs and is happiest when he’s right in the middle of the action — playing, learning, and following along with his siblings and foster friends. He has the perfect mix of playful curiosity and cuddle-ready sweetness, making him an easy fit into just about any loving home. Whether he’s romping around or curling up for some well-earned rest, Turnip brings joy wherever he goes. Like all puppies who come to us from rural shelters, Turnip’s second chance is only possible because of our amazing shelter partners, fosters, and supporters who step up when these babies need help the most. Now, this special boy is ready to find his forever family — a home where he’ll be cherished, guided, and loved for a lifetime 🐾✨
