Story
Hello I'm Daisy! I had a rough start at life but I am looking forward to starting over. I am a shy girl but will warm up rather quickly and would do best in an adult female only home. I am learning trust and how to "dog" and I just know there is a female out there looking for a friend. I'm willing to be that friend, I just ask that you can be patient with me and help me build my confidence. I do not like those kitty creatures and kids make me too nervous. I did however have an older calm male doggie bud that I was learning from. If you are willing to put in the work, I am more than ready to work along side of you. Interested in adopting? Story
Hank and his 11 siblings were named after legendary country singers.  This is their story: His mother, Mountain Mama, wandered up to a feral horse rescue campsite and quickly befriended the rescuers. She needed help! Soon after, she gave birth to a large litter of puppies. A few weeks later a wonderful thing happened - Mama and her 12 puppies were transferred to an SSR foster.  Many of Hank's siblings have been adopted.  Hank has been diagnosed with megaesophagus or mega e.  This diagnosis should not keep you from adopting this very sweet boy.  All that needs to be done is to have him sit up when he eats and for 10 minutes after.  He is a champ at taking his pill at every meal.  He takes his pills in a syringe after they have been dissolved in water. An elevated water bowl works best for this pup.  Hank is a very happy, playful, outgoing puppy.  Like all puppies, he loves to play but he can chill out with the best of them too! Won't you consider adopting Hank? He is done with the road shows and ready to settle in his forever home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website."Aliana" We fostered her for a county lady when she asked for help. Aliana had had her throat torn up from her littermates because she wanted food too. Owner shoved her into a hot metal shed with no food or water to "protect her" from her littermates because she refused to "fight back for food." "Aliana" was adopted out, but was quickly dumped on a back country road. "Aliana" waited for 24 hours in a thunderstorm, under a mailbox, for her people to come back for her, but they did not. Caught on camera being dumped, the mailbox/camera owners took her to the shelter, where she was scanned for a microchip and returned to us!  Aliana is around 12 months old UTD on Vaccinations  Spayed Loves everyone  Cats unknown  Crate/House trained All she wants to do is cuddle with you!  She does well with other dogs in a public setting but will do best as the only dog in the home due to her past trauma.  Aliana is a Powerhouse both in energy levels (a jogger would be good if she has been built up for running properly) she is also a "Power Chewer" and would do best in a home that can both challenge her with mental stimulating games and wearing her out physically. Is being fostered in Stephenson VA Get approved to adopt using the link below! https://fierceloverescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoptionVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.100% of every adoption fee is used to rescue and care for homeless animals.  Please consider donating to help us more rescue animals. Story
This good-looking fellow is Blue, a 1 ½ year old mix of Lab and Husky.  He weighs about 55 pounds now and shouldn’t increase in weight anymore.  (Unless you feed him doughnuts!) The first time you meet him, you’ll see how his short, black coat shines in the sun!  Blue (called that due to one of his eyes being part blue) is a good boy.  He gets along well with other dogs at daycare, and he’s terrific with his foster’s six-year-old son.  And they love each other so much!  Although he gets along with all kids, though, it might be best if your family doesn’t have very small children, not because he’ll intentionally hurt them, but he might knock them over because he’s excited at play.  Shy upon meeting, Blue would do best in a home with another dog, a pal who could help him feel more comfortable with his time spent alone.  A canine friend would really be great!  A fine boy, he would be a great addition to your family! ! Story
Say hello to Shadow, a 1 1/2-year-old male Lab/German Shepherd mix weighing around 55lbs. Shadow is a very shy boy who has been with us in rescue since he was six months old. This shyness is greater in some rescues than in others, so we asked a trainer for help, and he’s progressed a lot.  He’s more playful and confident. We’re looking for a warm and caring family that will understand when he’s timid and will provide him with a fenced yard to help with that.  Though he’s gentle natured and wouldn’t hurt a fly, small children may startle him; therefore, a home with older children or adults only would be best. Shadow does well with other dogs and cats and is also housebroken. His foster says of him, “ Shadow K is an extraordinary dog, he just doesn’t know how to show it. His heart is filled with love!” (Revision11/24/23, ML)  Please check out his video!   **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00April 24, 2024, 2:47 pm
