🐾 Meet Diva! 📍 Currently in VA — Transport available to approved adopters/fosters Diva may have a shy name, but this gorgeous girl is the more outgoing of her sister duo! Sweet, gentle, and smart, Diva is 3 years old and weighs around 38 lbs. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and totally ready for her forever home — whether with her sister Ella or flying solo with a new doggy friend by her side. Diva loves: Being told she's a very good girl Exploring the yard and running with her pup friends Going for car rides (she’s a smooth traveler!) Long leash walks (just be ready for some excited squirrel and dog-watching!) 💛 Diva is affectionate, loyal, and incredibly resilient. Rescued in Afghanistan alongside her sister and their injured mama, Diva has come a long way and truly deserves a home where she’ll be loved and cherished. Quick Facts: House & crate trained Good with other dogs No cats or small animals Best with older children (10+ yrs) due to her shy nature Requires a fenced yard Would thrive with another dog in the home She’s currently in VA but can be transported to the perfect adopter or foster. Also, don’t forget to ask about her sister, Ella!

Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comAugust 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Hi, my name is Moe! If you are looking for a special dog, you are barking up the right tree! What makes me special is that life started out a little shaky for me and has left me more nervous and scared than the average dog. With time, understanding, patience, and building trust I will open up and be the best companion you could want! As the saying goes, I stick to the 3’s. I need 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks of a consistent routine and time to learn it & 3 months to start feeling at home. At first, I am more comfortable with other dogs and people really scare me, so I would do best with an outgoing friendly dog in the house to show me how to feel comfortable and confident. As time goes on, I get more used to humans but would do best in a single-person home or just a couple (too many people or a lot of children will be too much for me). I like my kennel and my safe dark space. I will come around and hang out more when I trust it is safe. I am kennel trained and working on being better with the leash. If you are looking for an amazing but special dog who needs a little bit of a calmer lifestyle, I am your man!!!! Email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.com for more info! Story
https://foha.org/pet/marvin/ I have been at the shelter for a long bit and have found a tribe of friends. I can see my people from a mile away and will wiggle my whole body and tail until they say hello! Some of my favorite things to do: lay in a baby pool for hours (if given the chance); sit on a blanket chewing a toy and getting belly rubs from a special friend; sitting on the head of my human "champion while we lounge on a couch. Although I can be very sweet and affectionate, I have some particular worries. I am wary of strangers and require several meetings to get to know you. Children scare me with their fast movements. Having lots of visitors and movement in a home distresses me. I crave quiet and stability. With that I will be loyal, snuggle with you and find my way into your lap. I walk beautifully and will "lean against your legs as we walk. I play very well with other dogs and enjoy time sunbathing in a play yard. Can I look forward to a visit and an introduction? Story
Hey there, My name is Moose, and life has been quite the rollercoaster ride for me and my sister, Misty. We went through a heartbreaking experience when we lost our home and family. But thanks to the incredible folks at FOHA (Friends of Homeless Animals), we were given a second chance to find a loving forever home. Since arriving at FOHA, I've been adjusting and settling into my new surroundings. One of the highlights of my days is joining dog play groups. There's something magical about the energy and joy that fills the air when I'm surrounded by fellow canines. I have a blast running around, playing, and just being my goofy self. Play groups have become a source of happiness and socialization for me, and I can't get enough of them. I'm thrilled to share that I've become a favorite among the volunteers at FOHA. They've recognized my gentle and loving nature, and it warms my heart to know that I've made such a positive impression on them. I'm a big softie at heart, and my charming personality shines through every interaction. When you meet me, you'll quickly realize that I'm a big teddy bear who loves cuddles and snuggles. My fluffy fur is irresistible, and I'll gladly soak up all the affection and attention you're willing to give. With my loving disposition, I'm the perfect companion for those cozy nights on the couch or outdoor adventures filled with laughter. If you're searching for a loyal and fun-loving canine companion, look no further-I'm right here, ready to become your best friend. We'll share unforgettable moments, embark on exciting adventures, and create a bond that will last a lifetime. My presence in your life will bring you joy, comfort, and endless love. Visit FOHA, and let's meet in person. I'll show you just how much happiness and affection I can bring into your life. Choosing me, Moose, means welcoming a cherished furry family member who will fill your days with warmth and laughter. Together, we'll create a beautiful story of companionship and unconditional love. Don't wait too long-I'm eagerly waiting to become a part of your family and embark on this incredible journey with you.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/lynk2020/ Let me introduce myself! I'm Lynk! Could I be the missing Lynk in your life? I love going for walks and cuddling. I also love staying busy with a good chew toy! I can be wary of strangers, so I'd prefer to be in a quiet home. I'd also love a yard with space to accommodate my energetic self, or an active family. But once I get some zoomies in, I'd love to snuggle up on the couch! I do get attached to my people and can be protective in the home, so I would do best in a home with no small children or a lot of visitors. I have a lot of love to give, and would love to be the only one receiving the love you have to give! Submit an application so we can meet and learn more about each other!
