Story
Meet Lewis! Lewis is a handsome Lab mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for the outdoors. This energetic boy is happiest when he has plenty of room to run, play, and explore. A large fenced yard would be his dream, since he’s strong on the leash and would much rather romp freely than go on structured walks.Lewis has a playful spirit and plenty of energy, making him a great match for someone looking for a buddy to play soccer with. (He loves kicking around his big jolly ball!) He would do best in a home without other pets as he tends to bully other dogs and chase cats, but does great with children. With his enthusiasm for life and love of the outdoors, Lewis is ready to find a family who will give him the space and playtime he craves. If you’ve got room in your yard (and your heart), Lewis would love to be your new adventure buddy. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143&#226&#156&#133 Neutered&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinated&#226&#156&#133 Microchipped&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Lewis? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $250For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgOctober 2, 2025, 7:11 am

Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST! PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP AT THE SHELTER TO MEET HIM. HE IS NOT AT THE SHELTER   MEET Apollo  also responds to Paul. How cuuute.    Apollo is a good young boy.  His only fault is his energy... his family sort of ended up with him. They feel bad. But they have realized he deserves more than they can give. He is destructive in home when not properly excercised, and hes a jumper, they have a kid and hes too much with the kid. They have tried to work with him, but have realized that they are not the right fit. All of this is fixable and trainable with the right person or family. Hes just young and needs consistency and training    Here's what they answered to my questions:    "Apollo nickname Paul (he responds to both)  Kind of Leash Trained (we dont walk him as much as he needs) Crate Trained No allergies that we know of Hes ok in the car, sometimes throws up He is ok alone in a crate if nothing is around him but he did eat the rug/plastic at the bottom of the crate Recall only when said a couple times but not in a open space maybe like a backyard No idea about cats or dogs ( except his sibling dog he is fine with) We got him from one of my husband friends, he is half lab half heeler   And no rehoming fee we just want him to go to a really good home."    He is 1.5 yrs old. Black Lab/ Heeler. Neutered. And UTD on shots.   November 1, 2025, 1:27 pm

Story
Meet Duncan: the world’s greatest dog… who might actually be a cat in a dog suit. He’s mastered the art of the cuddle, believes laps are a universal right, and operates under the assumption that every toy was invented just for him. Duncan loves kids, pets, tall people, short people—basically anyone with a pulse and access to snacks. He’s playful, hilarious, and just the right amount of mischievous (your snacks may mysteriously disappear, but his innocent face will make you forgive him instantly). He loves walks, swims, and any adventure that allows him to show off his “athlete of the year” energy. And when he’s done? He’s a championship-level snuggler. Duncan fits perfectly in apartments, houses, castles—whatever you’ve got. Unfortunately, I recently lost my job and can’t give him the full life he deserves. It breaks my heart because he’s truly the best companion imaginable. Duncan is ready to bring joy, chaos, and unconditional love to a new family who can spoil him properly.

Story
He will be 4 years old on 01/18/2022. I am looking to rehome him due to ongoing behavioral issues. He struggles with severe anxiety and is currently taking fluoxetine. He is mostly up to date on his vaccinations, but is still due for Bordetella and Leptospirosis. He is reactive to both dogs and cats, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. I do not have children, so I’m unsure how he would behave around them. He has previously been in a fight with another dog and required surgery on one of his legs, so he is sensitive to touch in that area. He may occasionally have accidents in the house—I'm not sure what triggers it, but it does happen from time to time. He knows basic commands but tends to respond only when treats are involved. I love him deeply, but I believe rehoming him is in his best interest. I don’t have the time or, honestly, the patience necessary to continue working through his challenges, despite trying everything I could. Please feel free to reach out! Thank you!

Story
Berdie is a good hiking partner she remains close by off-leash. She love a shower and will get in willingly. She is also trained to get her feet cleaned by staying on the entry rug and lifting her paw's. For the most part she is calm. She is an indoor dog and sleeps on her own couch, she willingly goes to bed when night time routine has started or will go to her couch on "go to bed" command. Berdie is very sweet and likes to be pet. She also can stay outside and does not mind the rain. She has been fully potty trained and has never had an accident in the house, she goes to the door and waits to go out and returns and backs to get back in. She loves tug of war and bones. Berdie is protective of the yard and her owners.

Story
Sadie Mae is a beautiful girl who loves to snuggle with her humans, go for walks and play in the yard. She would be a great dog for the right human - one who can walk her, has a nice yard to play in and the time to play with her. But, she does not do well with other dogs, nor cats or other small animals. So, being an only child with boundaries where she can safely expend her energy would be the ideal spot for her. She is house and kennel trained. Sadie needs spayed - which will be included in her $300 adoption donation. If you are interested in meeting her please fill out an application at sccpets.comIf you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.November 10, 2025, 10:56 pm
