Story
Crissy’s journey started on the side of a rural Texas road, abandoned and alone with her sister. But now? Her story is finally turning around—right here in Wisconsin. She’s gone from shelter bars to wide-open fields and is thriving in her foster home. Crissy lives on a farm, where she’s respectful of horses and chickens, adores the kiddos, and gets along wonderfully with the resident Pyrenees. She even went camping and loved every second of it—this girl’s ready for adventure, as long as it ends with snuggles. Still just a pup, Crissy is that perfect mix of playful and calm. She enjoys exploring, playing with her people, and curling up close when it’s time to wind down. She’s already crate trained, fully potty trained, and has the sweetest, most eager-to-please personality. Crissy is ready for a forever home full of love, patience, and gentle guidance. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a heart of gold, Crissy’s your girl. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Intake Reason: Transfer from TexasWeight: 40 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownPuppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn’t as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!#2

Story
From Bonnies Foster: She is an 11-12 month old, FIXED, black lab mix (not sure of the mix) and she is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She thinks she's a lap dog, even though she's around 60 pounds . Every morning when I leave for work, she follows my car, running and jumping and just having a good time. When I get home from work, she runs out to meet me and is waiting outside of my car door in pure joy. When I step out, she sits down and leans against my legs, like her very own version of a hug. She loves running around and playing fetch, and is even starting to learn how to catch a frisbee! She absolutely adores running around with my other dogs and is so funny and playful. As she is still a pup, she needs a forever home that has someone that can dedicate time to her training and someone who is able to put in the time and dedication to her that she so truly deserves. Please help me find sweet Bonnie a forever home. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
