Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $750   Fedora is a 1 year old Lhasa Apso mix who is ready to tip his cap like a true gentleman for his forever humans! Fedora blew off a hat rack and landed in our rescue. At 26 pounds, there is just so much of Fedora to love! He’s the perfect addition to any Spring wardrobe and he can’t wait to prance down the street like it’s his own personal red carpet. Come and add this dapper gentleman to your ensemble and adopt Fedora!      Fedora is a snuggle bug looking for a home he can shower in love! Fedora has that “King of the Castle” personality that is common in Lhasas so the world revolves around his whims… if you ask him! He loves affection and cuddles but can also keep himself occupied when he needs to. Fedora likes to play but he’s more on the mellow end of the energy scale. He’s a huge couch potato and would love to make himself comfortable on your couch for some TV binge watching. Fedora’s dream home would be one where he can continue opening up and exploring the world at his own pace. If you work from home, he would be a fabulous Zoom mascot or excuse to take a break to walk the dog. Trust us, he can be quite the actor when he is incentivised with the proper snacks. Fedora knows how to sprawl and will show you how to take life a little bit slower as you absorb all the beauty of nature around you!  Fedora wakes up around 8 AM and heads right outside for his potty break. He then enjoys his breakfast before settling in to keep his foster mom company as she starts her workday. During the day, he takes several zoomies breaks in the yard followed by a walk around the block at 2 PM. After some more playtime, he has dinner at 6:30 PM before lounging on the couch until he’s ready to wind down. He goes out for one more potty and then goes to bed around 11 PM in his dog bed.  Fedora does great with dogs of all ages and sizes. He would be a great companion for a resident dog or he could fly solo. He adores his humans, both young and young at heart. Fedora loves a good walk and struts with a little wiggle in his step. He is house trained. Come pick your new favorite hat today and adopt Fedora!     Fedora is an option for homes who have owned a dog previously. Kids should be over the age of 10.April 9, 2025, 6:24 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption fee: $750 Meet Mystic – The Little Superhero with a Big Personality! Mystic is a 2-3 year old, 17-pound Lhasa/Shih Tzu mix with a soft, non-shedding coat—great for those with allergies! When he was rescued from the shelter, his coat was a tangled mess, but after a spa day with the groomer, he’s feeling (and looking) like a brand-new pup. Mystic is full of charm, personality, and one signature move that steals hearts—his begging dance! Whether he’s asking for treats, belly rubs, or a walk, he’ll sit up on his hind legs and “pray” with his front paws like the little performer he is. Check out his video—you won’t be able to resist! Mystic’s Daily Routine Morning: Sleeps in until his humans wake up, then enjoys a 15-minute walk to start the day. Afternoon: A 20-minute lunchtime stroll, followed by some lounging and people-watching. Evening: Another walk around the neighborhood before dinner at 5 PM (though he’s a bit of a picky eater—probably had a taste of the good life with human food before!). Night: Mystic is a night owl! He’s happy to stay up late with his person, keeping them company until bedtime. Why Mystic is Out of This World The Ultimate Sidekick – He loves staying within sight of his favorite human, whether curled up nearby or trotting alongside on a walk. A True Lovebug – Scratch his ears or rub his belly, and he’ll completely melt, rolling over and waving his paws for more. Always Ready for an Adventure – Mystic loves walks, keeps a great pace, and even enjoys a short jog! Hilarious and Endearing – His begging dance is his go-to trick, and it never fails to get a laugh (or a treat). Homebody with a Playful Side – He’s content chilling at home but also enjoys backyard time or a fun outing. The Perfect Home for Mystic Mystic is happiest with his person and isn’t the type of dog who wants to meet every stranger, but once you’re in his circle, he’s your biggest fan. He can coexist with other dogs but would also thrive as someone’s one and only pup, soaking up all the love and attention. Slow introductions with new people and dogs are best, and he’ll do well in a home that understands his need for patience and consistency. He’s still working on house training and commands, but he’s a smart little guy who’s eager to learn!April 22, 2025, 9:28 pm

This 16 pound cutie was rescued from the shelter and affectionately nicknamed Turtle as we knew he just needed some love to come out of his shell. We got him a new hairstyle and showered him with pets (and treats) and we got to see the results immediately! Turtle has a non-shedding coat so he is an option for homes with allergies. Come meet the cutest shell creature today and adopt Turtle!      Turtle is a gentle soul looking to find his humans who can help him come out of his shell. As he has settled into his foster home, we have started to see the beginnings of his amazing personality emerge. He is like a cat, when you first meet him you let him settle in and then he wants to be your buddy for life. As he has gotten comfortable, he has discovered the joy of snuggling and we think as time goes on that will only grow! As of now, Turtle has been a total lounging couch potato but as he continues to build his confidence we could see that changing. Despite his shyness, Turtle has been incredibly sweet to everyone he has met. He is the true epitome of why we do rescue, a dog who needed someone to give him the chance to shine so he can find his humans. We can’t wait to see what the world has in store for Turtle now that he’s escaped his terrarium.  Turtle wakes up at 7 AM and goes right out for a walk before enjoying his breakfast. During the day, he spends his time hanging out with the resident dog (named Soup) and hanging out in enclosed spaces. He gets some snacks during the day, especially as it helps win him over. He goes on a walk in the early evening before enjoying his dinner and then he goes to bed in his crate. Turtle would benefit from a confident dog in his forever home to help him learn how to “dog”. He needs a quiet home where he can get settled an adult-only environment would be ideal for him. Turtle walks well on a leash. Homes should be prepared to discuss plans for grooming and coat maintenance. Come and meet the fluffiest Turtle you’ve ever seen!      Turtle is only an option for homes who currently own a dog. Turtle needs an adult only home. April 13, 2025, 2:44 pm

Story
Macie is a sweet, silly girl who is about 5-8 years old and 15.5 pounds.  She loves her foster mom’s dogs and is sweet to her cat. She was closed down and ill when we pulled her from the shelter. Every day her personality is blooming a bit more. She is a real homebody and will walk around the block, but would rather stay home and hang out.  She is vaccinated, chipped and spayed and has had a recent dental. Macie is a special needs dog. She needs to take medication morning and evening for her heart murmur and arthritis. She also has ointment for dry eye. Macie was a stray so we don't know how she got to this state, whether an accident or genetics, but she readily takes her meds in pill pockets and she is a wonderful companion. Her medications and  supplements cost about $100 per month and she is a dog that will need regular grooming. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Macie is $300. If you are interested in adopting Macie, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. March 5, 2025, 12:45 am

Story
Meet Necktie, the most dapper gentleman in town! This sweet boy is always chilling, taking life one belly rub at a time. He’s got a heart full of love and a nose that always knows where the treats are! Necktie is the perfect mix of friendly and easygoing, he gets along just fine with other dogs and absolutely adores his human friends. Whether he’s lounging by your side or following you around for snacks, he’s just happy to be part of the fun! Looking for a lovable, treat-motivated best friend? Necktie is ready to tie himself to your heart forever! Here's some notes from his foster: Necktie is such a sweet, happy, good boy. I can't say enough good things about him. The first thing you need to know about Necktie is that this guy loves to eat! Necktie is basically a 2 in 1 Hoover/floor cleaning system. Not a single crumb will escape Necktie in his quest to give you sparkling clean floors (and maybe coffee tables too, watch out!) Necktie can hold his potty overnight. He loves short walks. Sniffing is his favorite and he likes to stick close right beside you. He doesn’t have issues being left alone so I think he would be fine napping at home if you had a typical 9-5 schedule. He is a very quiet dog and we have hardy heard a peep out of him. He is most happy to curl up with you on the couch and snuggle. Necktie does have both visual and hearing impairment. He can only see and hear a little bit, but I can tell that this does not stop him at all. Necktie is very smart and had our whole apartment mapped out in no time. He remembers where we put all the dog stairs to get onto the couch and bed. He even tries (and fails) to chase our cat. Necktie navigates the world with his other senses, and he is plenty confident to run and jump around once he knows his surroundings. He will also do stairs as long and you guide him the first few times. Necktie is a very sweet cuddly boy who deserves to live the good life after his time as a stray. So many families out there would be lucky to have him!

Story
Skipper  is happy and full of life. He loves to be active on hikes, walks, playing with toys, and running around in the backyard. He can also slow down and cuddle on the couch with you.   We’ve started training with him, and he would greatly benefit from a person who is committed to continuing his training and helping him progress.  He is stubborn, so training is key. Skipper would do best in an adult-only home. Energy Level?  Medium to High House trained?  Yes, 100%. He had never had an accident in the house. He routinely potties  about 15ish minutes after each meal. Describe how they are on leash?   Skipper  LOVES his walks. He does tend to pull, but we are working on it. Describe how they are with other dogs? Skipper would love to be the only dog in the home. Once Skipper is thoughtfully paired with the right dog and they play styles match, Skipper loves to play. Skipper's high energy play, can be much for some lower energy dogs. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  He has not been introduced to cats. Commands they know?  Sit What are their favorite things?  Toys, cuddles, walks, wrestling with their human  What do they need to work on?  Polite dog behavior and walking without pulling. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Skipper is left two -three times a week and he stays in an xpen for about 6 hours. He whines for a few minutes then sleeps most of the time and is mostly quiet. Where do they sleep?  In his xpen or crate What is their ideal home?  Skipper would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise. Ideally, he’d be the only dog, and he excels in an environment with clear structure and routine. We’ve started training with him, and he would greatly benefit from a person who is committed to continuing his training and helping him progress.  Skipper would do best in an adult-only home. Our Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online application:   www.everypetsdream.org/adopt  and  we will have everything we need to know to call you back and set up an appointment.  Follow us:  Facebook  and  Instagram .
