Story
Darcy is a friendly, excited, and lovable Lhasa Apso. She is 5 years old, turning 6 in April. Darcy is a lapdog who enjoys watching squirrels out the window, chasing tennis balls, and giving everybody kisses. She loves human attention and likes to be by your side as much as possible. She is kennel trained and she's content to be in her kennel when you're out of the house or to sleep in her kennel overnight, though she would also like to sleep in your bed if you let her. Darcy likes both cats and dogs, though she can sometimes get overexcited about cats and try to play rough with them. She is wary of larger dogs, but she will warm up to them eventually. She is tolerant of children, but she prefers older children who know how to respect her boundaries. I need to rehome Darcy because she is not getting enough attention after I had a baby. She would thrive in an environment where she can get a lot of one on one affection.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending! Hi there, darling. I’m Jenni — a distinguished senior lady of the fabulous Lhasa Apso variety. Think less “old dog” and more “retired royalty with excellent hair.” Sure, I sleep a lot. Beauty rest is important when you look this good. But don’t let the naps fool you — I still get the occasional zoomie… well, more like a graceful wiggle with enthusiasm. Toys? Love them. People? Also love them. Lap space? Especially love that. Now, full disclosure: I previously lived with a tiny human. Let’s just say… I prefer my roommates potty-trained and able to respect personal space. So I’m currently accepting applications for a calm household without small children where I can enjoy my golden years in peace, luxury, and a well-curated nap schedule. I can be a smidge cautious at first. I like to scope things out. Conduct a vibe check. But give me a little time and I’ll promote you straight to BFF status. I’m loyal, devoted, and an expert-level snuggler. I won’t bark your ear off. In fact, I’m so quiet you might forget I’m there — until you look down and see a small, fluffy constant by your side. In a world full of chaos, I offer stability. Warmth. Soft snores. And unwavering companionship. All I need is one faithful human to share the couch — and maybe a toy or two.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a     particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Ple ase use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Jack (black) and Jake (mostly white) are 11-year-old bonded Lhasa Poo brothers who unexpectedly lost their mom to a sudden illness, so they are looking for a low-key home where they can stay together and snuggle on the sofa with a new favorite person. Cuddle-bugs who love pets and head-scratches, they also enjoy sniffing and exploring outside. Most of their outdoor experiences have been in their fenced in backyard, so while they are house-trained and crate-trained, they aren't as familiar with leashed walks. Their former owner was retired, so their ideal situation would be with another person who is home a lot. Jack was diagnosed with a heart murmur not long ago and is currently taking medication to manage it. Both dogs are scheduled for full dental treatments to remove any bad teeth, but they are otherwise happy, healthy low riders who would make for someone's very cute companions!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lainey is a 6-year-old female Bichon mix with the softest eyes and a tender heart that’s still learning how to feel safe. She is a breeder release, which means much of her early life was spent without the love, stability, and everyday experiences most dogs know. Because of that, she is learning a lot of new things and the world is sometimes overwhelming to her. Lainey is a beautiful, sweet, and sensitive girl who is just beginning to understand what it means to live inside a home, to trust people, and to be a family pet. She will need continued time to decompress, build confidence, and learn that she is finally safe. Patience, consistency, and gentle reassurance will help her continue to blossom. She is very attached to her foster mom and happily follows her like a little shadow. Being close to her person makes her feel secure, and she is at her happiest curled up beside someone she trusts. Because she can be quite anxious, Lainey will do best in a home where someone is present most of the day. A fenced yard is important for her comfort and security, and she would do best in a home without shared walls, as new or sudden noises can startle her. As Lainey is still learning about living in a home, she is currently about 60% house trained. She can be left to free roam, but her new family should understand that accidents will still happen as she continues to figure things out and learns your schedule. She truly does not enjoy being kenneled — and when she feels confined, she will passionately make her displeasure known, which sounds a bit like a high-pitched teenage girl scream. For her, the kennel feels scary and overwhelming. With patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, she will continue to gain confidence and make steady progress. Lainey enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with the cat in her foster home. She can be nervous around men at first, but with gentle introductions and time, she learns to trust. Older, respectful children would be just fine for her. Lainey has no teeth, so she will need to remain on a wet diet, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life’s simple pleasures — especially love and companionship. Lainey isn’t looking for perfection. She’s looking for someone who understands that healing takes time, and that the most beautiful transformations happen slowly. In the right home, with patience and a kind heart, this sweet girl will continue to bloom into the devoted, loving companion she was always meant to be. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.
