Story
If you are looking for a small, friendly, playful dog for you and your resident small dog, then Izzy could be the one! She is a 3 year old, 16 lb Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix, but breed mix is just our best guess. This little girl had a rough start in life, and she was shy at first, but she has come a long way in her foster home. She now loves to sit in foster mom's lap, and she is allowed to sleep with them too. Izzy loves playing and just hanging out with with the other small dogs in her foster home, so she will be her happiest in a home with another small companion dog. She loves to play with toys and will collect them and play with them all day. Izzy came to us with a serious eye injury, so her eye had to be removed. This has not had any negative effect on her, and she actually feels a lot better. She has some allergies, so she may need allergy meds or shots from time to time. If you can provide Izzy with a calm, quiet home, please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Gizmo is a goofy boy who wants to love you but expects things to be his way. He is typical for a lhasa with a little bit of tude (lhasatude) so will need an owner that understands by being a true leader. If this role isn't obvious, he thinks he has to do it and that role is too much for a doggy to have. If you have experienced this with dogs, you know it is awesome when you carry the role and have a loyal follower at your side.

Story
Noel is a 12-year-old Lhasa Apso who is RESCUE ONLY due to her age and medical needs. She was surrendered to the shelter in very poor condition. Because Noel was already blind and had severe discharge and infection in both eyes, the shelter made the medical decision to enucleate both eyes to relieve her pain and improve her comfort. She also received a full dental cleaning and polishing, with no teeth needing removal. Despite everything she has been through, Noel deserves a safe, quiet place where she can heal and enjoy her golden years with patience and love. Why Rescue Only • Senior (12 years old) • Medical needs requiring continued care • Blind (both eyes removed for medical reasons) • Previously severely matted, needs ongoing grooming and comfort care If you are a licensed rescue and can help Noel, please reach out as soon as possible or contact the shelter directly. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with an animal or multiple animals, please email us directly at info@animalhope.org or call us 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm. Bea is still looking for her forever home, and her adoption fee is $300 but we could be flexible, meaning you are welcome to name your own fee. This sweet and curious girl is about 2 years old and weighs around 18 pounds—just the right size for adventures and afternoon cuddles 🐕💫. While she can be a little independent at first, it doesn’t take long for her gentle, affectionate nature to shine through once she feels comfortable and safe. She’s an inquisitive soul who loves to explore her surroundings, and she gets along well with other dogs 🐾. Bea would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and loving companionship. One of her favorite things? Kiddie pools! 💦 Anytime she heads outside, she makes a beeline straight for the pool—splashing, lounging, and soaking up the fun. It’s her happy place, and it’s absolutely adorable to watch. When she first arrived, Bea was recovering from chemical burns—but this resilient little pup has healed beautifully and hasn’t let her past dim her bright spirit 💖🔥. Now, she’s more than ready for a fresh start with a family who will show her the love she’s always deserved. If you're someone who believes in resilience, healing, and the joy of new beginnings, Bea might just be the perfect companion to welcome into your heart and home 🫶✨____We want every animal in our care to begin their next chapter in the best possible health, so when you adopt from us, you can expect:Spay/neuter surgeryMicrochip placementAll core vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing and treatment as neededFlea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note: because we don’t observe our animals in home environments, we can’t guarantee they are housebroken.
