If you are looking for a small, friendly, playful dog for you and your resident small dog, then Izzy could be the one! She is a 3 year old, 16 lb Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix, but breed mix is just our best guess. This little girl had a rough start in life, and she was shy at first, but she has come a long way in her foster home. She now loves to sit in foster mom's lap, and she is allowed to sleep with them too. Izzy loves playing and just hanging out with with the other small dogs in her foster home, so she will be her happiest in a home with another small companion dog. She loves to play with toys and will collect them and play with them all day. Izzy came to us with a serious eye injury, so her eye had to be removed. This has not had any negative effect on her, and she actually feels a lot better. She has some allergies, so she may need allergy meds or shots from time to time. He is typical for a lhasa with a little bit of tude (lhasatude) so will need an owner that understands by being a true leader. If this role isn't obvious, he thinks he has to do it and that role is too much for a doggy to have. Meet Albert! Albert is a 20-month-old little guy with a big personality. He lost one eye early in life, but that hasn’t slowed him down one bit. He’s playful with his person, adores his walks, and absolutely lives for tummy rubs—if you stop too soon, he’ll gently reach out with his paw to ask for more! Albert has had some early liver issues, which are now well managed with a special diet that he’ll need to stay on for life. He’s also working on an “attitude adjustment”—sometimes he can be a little spicy with other dogs or when asked to do something he’s not thrilled about. He’s already making progress with the help of anxiety medication and responds well to verbal correction. Because of this, Albert would do best in an adult-only home where he can be the star of the show and also no stairs for this boy. He rides beautifully in the car, sleeps quietly at night on his pallet in the bedroom, and has impeccable potty manners. With daily walks to help trim his waistline and keep his mind happy, Albert will be a loyal, loving companion for the right person. Bubba is a 10-year-old sweetheart weighing 17 pounds with a gentle, loving, and surprisingly spunky personality. He is great in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and absolutely adores being around his people. Bubba thrives on human companionship and quickly becomes your little shadow. Although Bubba experienced terrible neglect in his past, all he wants now is to be loved and cherished—and he gives that love right back. Despite everything he’s been through, he remains incredibly sweet, funny, and eager for affection. Bubba does have some marking behaviors, but he knows to go potty outside, so this is likely temporary as he settles into a new home. He does well with other dogs that have calm energy, or he would be perfectly happy as a solo pup, as long as he isn’t left alone for long periods.
