Story
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Chinchilla (Chin Chin) and Shadow are a sweet bonded pair of lovely kitties that were rescued together from a large cat colony. They appear to be Maine Coon-mix cats.  Shadow is probably Chin Chin's mother.  They both have amazingly loud purrs!   Chin Chin and Shadow’s rescuer, Sara, provided us with this description of the girls: “Chin Chin is gray and white and was born in approximately May 2016.  She's a bit flighty and will run away at first, even from me, but comes back as soon as I start petting or brushing another cat.  She returns even faster when I'm dispensing treats.  She is very playful and chases balls and other toys around the room.  She even has a regular morning romp with another cat from the colony. Shadow was born in approximately May 2014.  She's very small for a Maine Coon mix (about 6 pounds) and has gorgeous all-black fur.  She loves to be brushed and petted and often meows loudly.  Her fur is curly, so regular brushing is needed to keep mats from forming.  She's even gotten used to stand-up brushing of her belly and will jump onto the cat condo so I can reach her more easily.  Once there, we sometimes touch noses.  She's the sweetest girl.  She's very docile and calm once she gets familiar with you and the household.  She doesn't even run when I vacuum.  She's also very good about eating oral flea medication with tuna or sardines. Both girls are going to be shy at first with new people but with patience and gentle talking, treats and eventually brushing, they'll come around. Both of them have purrs that practically shake the house.  I can hear Chin Chin purring from another room, and she'll start even before I touch her.  Shadow starts drooling when she's purring.  It's so cute! There's no way of knowing for sure, but I believe they are mother and daughter.  They are definitely a bonded pair.   Both are in good health.  I give Shadow daily hairball gel and Chin Chin a powdered probiotic in her food.  They are good about using the litter box and grooming themselves.  Chin Chin and Shadow have both been spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption.  They are good with other cats.  They might be okay with older, respectful children, or with a very calm and cat-friendly dog." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a Courtesy Post, and Chin Chin & Shadow are living in a private foster home with their rescuer Sara in Hercules, California. If you would like more information, please contact Sara at s_garetz@yahoo.com. Please Note: These cats have not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cats’ status with their rescuer and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.July 11, 2024, 10:35 pm

Story
I adopted Marcus when he was about 1.5 years and had been abandoned by his previous owner. He is trained to use a litter box and is also happy doing his business outside. He and Lady Cat love to play and cuddle together. He like to climb trees, play with shoelace or string, be carried around to see things that are up high, and be pet all over. He will often flop down on his back to have his belly rubbed. He is now about 6 years old and my living situation is changing such that I cannot keep this loving cat anymore. Lady Cat is a 5yr female cat that is up to date on vaccines and spayed who bonded with Marcus when I moved to my current place. She is a shorthair tabby with a gold striped belly. She is very friendly and talkative once she gets to know you and likes to cuddle at night. She likes the same things as Marcus except that she does not like to be picked up. She has a lovely purr that often includes chirping sounds.

Story
Mellow, snuggly, loves to lay in sunbeams, sweet and gentle, hops and runs when he gets the zoomies, sometimes chases leaves or imaginary objects. Very loveable. I rescued Simon when he showed up cold and hungry where I volunteer. I fully expected to keep him forever, but I am being forced to move to a rental, and I can't have him. Simon loves everyone, people, cats, dogs. He likes to hang around your feet so kids running might trip over him. He is unflappable, the king of cool, so any relatively calm home will suit him. He does fine alone when you're at work or away for the weekend, but when you're home he generally just wants to be near you. His favorite play times are late morning and evening. Afternoons are mostly for power-napping. Simon was ill when he was rescued, but tested negative for all major diseases, and just wound up with allergies. We know what they are, so we've adjusted his diet, and he takes a 1/mo shot. Our vet showed us how so we do it at home, and it's no big deal. A vet tech will give it for a few dollars too if that works better. Simon is currently living in San Jose, CA 95124 More information & application [ts=1722042167&src=aap]
