Story
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Honey Girl is so ready for a home!  She is a long-haired white & grey female beauty with one green and one blue eye; she is possibly a Maine Coon mix with some Ragdoll also!  Honey Girl has a super-sweet and loving personality – she purrs when stroked, massaged and brushed. Honey Girl is in need of a foster or foster-to-adopt home. She is close to her siblings Percy and Brandy; she is particularly bonded with Percy.  They can be homed together or separately. Watch their video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/C3IBVcsrgtf/ Honey Girl was born in approximately March 2021.  She has previously been spayed and vaccinated; her vaccinations will be brought up-to-date before placement. This is a courtesy post.  For more information about fostering or adopting Honey Girl, please contact Marcia at 510-734-9924 or mslack199@gmail.com. Please Note: This cat has not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cat’s status with the rescue group and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.June 12, 2024, 10:19 pm

Story
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Chinchilla (Chin Chin) and Shadow are a sweet bonded pair of lovely kitties that were rescued together from a large cat colony. They appear to be Maine Coon-mix cats.  Shadow is probably Chin Chin's mother.  They both have amazingly loud purrs!   Chin Chin and Shadow’s rescuer, Sara, provided us with this description of the girls: “Chin Chin is gray and white and was born in approximately May 2016.  She's a bit flighty and will run away at first, even from me, but comes back as soon as I start petting or brushing another cat.  She returns even faster when I'm dispensing treats.  She is very playful and chases balls and other toys around the room.  She even has a regular morning romp with another cat from the colony. Shadow was born in approximately May 2014.  She's very small for a Maine Coon mix (about 6 pounds) and has gorgeous all-black fur.  She loves to be brushed and petted and often meows loudly.  Her fur is curly, so regular brushing is needed to keep mats from forming.  She's even gotten used to stand-up brushing of her belly and will jump onto the cat condo so I can reach her more easily.  Once there, we sometimes touch noses.  She's the sweetest girl.  She's very docile and calm once she gets familiar with you and the household.  She doesn't even run when I vacuum.  She's also very good about eating oral flea medication with tuna or sardines. Both girls are going to be shy at first with new people but with patience and gentle talking, treats and eventually brushing, they'll come around. Both of them have purrs that practically shake the house.  I can hear Chin Chin purring from another room, and she'll start even before I touch her.  Shadow starts drooling when she's purring.  It's so cute! There's no way of knowing for sure, but I believe they are mother and daughter.  They are definitely a bonded pair.   Both are in good health.  I give Shadow daily hairball gel and Chin Chin a powdered probiotic in her food.  They are good about using the litter box and grooming themselves.  Chin Chin and Shadow have both been spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption.  They are good with other cats.  They might be okay with older, respectful children, or with a very calm and cat-friendly dog." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a Courtesy Post, and Chin Chin & Shadow are living in a private foster home with their rescuer Sara in Hercules, California. If you would like more information, please contact Sara at s_garetz@yahoo.com. Please Note: These cats have not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cats’ status with their rescuer and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.June 12, 2024, 10:19 pm

Story
THE CAT: Church is a neutered, pure bred Maine Coon, roughly 4 years old and huge, 18 lbs. He is fantastic with kids (see photos) and other cats. He is an absolute couch cat, hell lay on your lap as long as there is a lap available. BACKGROUND: Church came from a really horrible breeder in SF who studded him out and then sold him. He was underweight (he has an additional 4-5lbs to put on) and had some nasty bacterial infections that we've treated with a long saga of antibiotics. His fecal matter is almost back to normal, we and his vet are confident we've put him on the right path. THE PROBLEM: we are expecting a baby! Church's bathroom habits are not quite 100% back to normal and we are simply overwhelmed. Church needs somebody with patience to keep his litter box clean and encourage him to learn exactly what is expected of him. We have kept him indoors as the medications have run their course, but he is probably ready to go indoor/outdoor, which would likely solve the issue.

Story
Meet Jerry, a gorgeous 3-year-old male Maine Coon mix!  Jerry has some of the typical Maine Coon traits such as large paws, a big ruff (mane), fluffy tail and long whiskers.  He is mostly orange with some white down his chest and on his paws.  Jerry loves attention and being petted. Jerry was born on approximately May 1, 2020.  He has been neutered, and will be microchipped and up to date on his shots prior to adoption.  He would be okay in a home with other non-aggressive cats, but no dogs or children, please. For more information about fostering or adopting Jerry, please contact Deborah at 510-909-4961 (text preferred) or at angusnfriends@outlook.com. June 13, 2024, 1:11 pm

Story
I adopted Marcus when he was about 1.5 years and had been abandoned by his previous owner. He is trained to use a litter box and is also happy doing his business outside. He and Lady Cat love to play and cuddle together. He like to climb trees, play with shoelace or string, be carried around to see things that are up high, and be pet all over. He will often flop down on his back to have his belly rubbed. He is now about 6 years old and my living situation is changing such that I cannot keep this loving cat anymore. Lady Cat is a 5yr female cat that is up to date on vaccines and spayed who bonded with Marcus when I moved to my current place. She is a shorthair tabby with a gold striped belly. She is very friendly and talkative once she gets to know you and likes to cuddle at night. She likes the same things as Marcus except that she does not like to be picked up. She has a lovely purr that often includes chirping sounds.
