Story
Meet Kagome! Silvery, swirly Grey Maine Coon | 1 Year Old | Female | Available for Adoption Kagome’s story is one of heartbreak, strength, and hope. HDBNQ originally rescued this beauty from the Sacramento Animal Shelter six months ago, and Kagome was adopted and whisked away, hopeful for the love and stability she so deserved. But life had another twist in store. A few months after someone adopted her from us, Kagome was found wandering the streets of Daly City—now a young mother with six newborn kittens. When a Good Samaritan posted her photo online, we immediately recognized her unique silvery markings and rushed to bring her back to safety. Despite attempts to contact her former adopter, our messages have gone unanswered. Kagome’s kittens are now weaned and heading to loving homes of their own, and it's her turn—again. Kagome is a gentle soul with a striking silvery coat and the soft, majestic fluff typical of her Maine Coon roots. She is affectionate but not demanding, observant and wise beyond her years. After everything she’s been through, she deserves a calm, loving home where she can finally feel safe and cherished. Fully vetted, spayed, and litter trained Gets along with respectful cats and calm households Best suited for a quiet home with humans who understand the value of second chances Are you the one who can give Kagome the forever home she’s been searching for? Apply at HDBnQ Rescue to adopt Kagome today and be the final chapter in her long journey home. **COURTESY REHOMING POST** Sam is not a CACC cat. We have not met him nor evaluated him and can't attest to his health or temperament. Please use the contact information listed to reach out and learn more. Meet Sam, a stunning senior Maine Coon gentleman with a heart as big as his fluffy orange coat. Officially named Samuel Ryan, but lovingly called Sam or Sammy, this sweet boy is looking for a new beginning after his beloved owner had to relocate and sadly couldn’t bring him along. Sam is a 12-pound bundle of affection, fully vaccinated and blessed with a charming, talkative nature. He’s the kind of companion who will happily chat with you about his day and lean in gratefully for long brushing sessions and gentle pets. Sam adores his toys, especially his beloved catnip banana, which always brings out his playful side. Although he spent time outdoors in his previous life, He does have a bit of arthritis in his back right leg from an old injury, but he handles it with the grace and resilience of a true gentleman. He dreams of a peaceful home where he can be the only pet — the king of his own castle. In return, he promises endless love, loyalty, and companionship. Sam is ready to share his golden years with someone special who will love him for the incredible soul he is. For more information on Sam, please reach out to Kelly at ktkellyt66@gmail.com

Story
Meet Gracie, a 9 year-old Maine Coon mix with big eyes, soft gray and white fur, and a sweet, gentle nature. She’s looking for a quiet home where she can be the only pet. She doesn’t do well around other animals and really just wants a peaceful space to herself. She’s a bit on the fluffy side and would benefit from a home that doesn't give her too much treats.

Story
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Chinchilla (Chin Chin) and Shadow are a sweet bonded pair of lovely kitties that were rescued together from a large cat colony. They appear to be Maine Coon-mix cats.  Shadow is probably Chin Chin's mother.  They both have amazingly loud purrs!   Chin Chin and Shadow’s rescuer, Sara, provided us with this description of the girls: “Chin Chin is gray and white and was born in approximately May 2016.  She's a bit flighty and will run away at first, even from me, but comes back as soon as I start petting or brushing another cat.  She returns even faster when I'm dispensing treats.  She is very playful and chases balls and other toys around the room.  She even has a regular morning romp with another cat from the colony.  She loves to be brushed and sleeps on my bed at night. Shadow was born in approximately May 2014.  She's very small for a Maine Coon mix (about 6 pounds) and has gorgeous all-black fur.  She loves to be brushed and petted and often meows loudly.  Her fur is curly, so regular brushing is needed to keep mats from forming.  She's even gotten used to stand-up brushing of her belly and will jump onto the cat condo so I can reach her more easily.  Once there, we sometimes touch noses.  She's the sweetest girl.  She's very docile and calm once she gets familiar with you and the household.  She doesn't even run when I vacuum.  She's also very good about eating oral flea medication with tuna or sardines. Both girls are going to be shy at first with new people but with patience and gentle talking, treats and eventually brushing, they'll come around. Both of them have purrs that practically shake the house.  I can hear Chin Chin purring from another room, and she'll start even before I touch her.  Shadow starts drooling when she's purring.  It's so cute! There's no way of knowing for sure, but I believe they are mother and daughter.  They are definitely a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.   Both are in good health.  I give Shadow daily hairball gel and Chin Chin a powdered probiotic in her food.  They are good about using the litter box and grooming themselves.  Chin Chin and Shadow have both been spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption.  They are good with other cats.  They might be okay with older, respectful children, or with a very calm and cat-friendly dog." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a Courtesy Post, and Chin Chin & Shadow are living in a private foster home with their rescuer Sara in Hercules, California. If you would like more information, please contact Sara at s_garetz@yahoo.com. Please Note: These cats have not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cats’ status with their rescuer and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.February 8, 2025, 2:15 pm
