Maine Coon kittens & cats in Pacifica, California

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Chinchilla (Chin Chin) and Shadow are a sweet bonded pair of lovely kitties that were rescued together from a large cat colony. They appear to be Maine Coon-mix cats.  Shadow is probably Chin Chin's mother.  They both have amazingly loud purrs!   Chin Chin and Shadow’s rescuer, Sara, provided us with this description of the girls: “Chin Chin is gray and white and was born in approximately May 2016.  She's a bit flighty and will run away at first, even from me, but comes back as soon as I start petting or brushing another cat.  She returns even faster when I'm dispensing treats.  She is very playful and chases balls and other toys around the room.  She even has a regular morning romp with another cat from the colony.  She loves to be brushed and sleeps on my bed at night. Shadow was born in approximately May 2014.  She's very small for a Maine Coon mix (about 6 pounds) and has gorgeous all-black fur.  She loves to be brushed and petted and often meows loudly.  Her fur is curly, so regular brushing is needed to keep mats from forming.  She's even gotten used to stand-up brushing of her belly and will jump onto the cat condo so I can reach her more easily.  Once there, we sometimes touch noses.  She's the sweetest girl.  She's very docile and calm once she gets familiar with you and the household.  She doesn't even run when I vacuum.  She's also very good about eating oral flea medication with tuna or sardines. Both girls are going to be shy at first with new people but with patience and gentle talking, treats and eventually brushing, they'll come around. Both of them have purrs that practically shake the house.  I can hear Chin Chin purring from another room, and she'll start even before I touch her.  Shadow starts drooling when she's purring.  It's so cute! There's no way of knowing for sure, but I believe they are mother and daughter.  They are definitely a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.   Both are in good health.  I give Shadow daily hairball gel and Chin Chin a powdered probiotic in her food.  They are good about using the litter box and grooming themselves.  Chin Chin and Shadow have both been spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption.  They are good with other cats; no dogs or children please.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a Courtesy Post, and Chin Chin & Shadow are living in a private foster home with their rescuer Sara in Hercules, California. Meet Merlin! Merlin is a gorgeous, uniquely beautiful Maine Coon boy. He has haunting eyes that glow from behind his dark coloring. Merlin was shy and scared when he first came to us but has blossomed into a friendly and affectionate cat. He has now also shown himself to be a lap cat and is in my lap licking my face as I write this! Merlin may not be right for a first time cat adopter or a home with young kids. Hi! My name is Dori! My foster mom says I am a beautifully soft Maine Coon mix girl (I don’t know what that means but ill take the compliment!). I am about 10 weeks old. I was found with my brother and mom in a rural area. At first I was shy but warmed up quickly. I have the softest fur. I am playful and fast but love to snuggle too. We got Nook about a year ago as a feral kitten and he soon adapted to inside life. He takes a few days to warm up to strangers but once he does he is incredibly cuddly and affectionate. He had a sister who escaped and he misses her so much - he would love some more kitty company. He is used to small children and tolerates them as long as they are gentle. If he gets enough affection (from humans or other cats) he is the happiest sweetest cat.
