Story
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION: Edgar is an adult Maine Coon. He is a big, cuddly boy. Edgar needs a diet of good quality wet food, not dry. He has problems with constipation. He has tested positive for FIV, but is in good health. Recent dental. He will be stressed by other male cats and will be aggressive, but is fine if those other cats are calm. He gets along with females okay. He does not like dogs. He is very affectionate and sweet toward people. He is stressed around small children. Edgar needs in an adopter who has a good relationship with their vet. Edgar is trained to allow claw clipping and likes carriers. He will need frequent claw trims. He is very good with medical care, including oral medication and fluids. He is a large cat, and Maine Coons are smart and need a lot of enrichment in their environment in order to not become destructive out of boredom. The right adopter will understand that a large long haired Maine Coon will need certain additions in their environment and diet. We are not sure exactly how old Edgar is, but we suspect over eight years.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Rumi! Rumi and her sister, Celine, were living with their owner in a car for several months before being surrendered to a shelter. They made their way to DPR after that. They are both very sweet and loving, gentle kitties. Rumi likes to find the highest point in the room to nap - she enjoys watching out over her kingdom from her cushy throne! She does have a very judgemental look about her, but we promise even if she's not-so-secretly judging you, she is sweet as can be! She loves pets and cuddles and will rub against you asking for more.Celine prefers to snuggle up on a cozy bed on floor level. They both have the cutest squishy faces - it looks like their aspect ratio was adjusted unevenly, but that's just how they look! They are very affectionate and love being pet and will rub up against you and give you head butts when you stop petting them. They would make a nice pair if you're looking for a sweet pair of kitties, but they would also be okay to be adopted to separate homes. They both get along great with all the other adult cats and kittens they are being fostered with! Very sweet and beautiful kitties!  This cat is spayed, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $250 Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 10, 2025, 12:03 pm

Story
MaxMax is located in Toms River, NJ   Meet (Bay) Max – Your Handsome Fluffy Giant! (Bay) Max is a 10-year-old neutered Maine Coon mix with all the classic features that make this breed so special: a big, beautiful frame, a luxurious coat, and a calm, intelligent presence. He’s truly a sight to behold—a large, stunning boywith a gentle soul. This distinguished gentleman is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, litter trained, and an excellent user of his scratching post. He’s well-mannered, well cared for, and ready to bring his mellow charm into a loving home. (Bay) Max is good with all people, enjoys the company of friendly, easygoing cats, and does well with well-behaved, cat-savvy dogs given slow, thoughtful introductions. He tends to take a little time to settle in and trust, but once he does, he becomes a wonderfully loyal presence. While he isn’t overly playful or cuddly, (Bay) Max loves to hang out wherever you are, following you from room to room like a fluffy shadow. He’s a chatty boy with lots of opinions and will happily “talk” to you throughout the day—especially if he suspects it might be treat time. If you’re looking for a calm, companionable cat who brings warmth simply by being nearby, (Bay) Max is the perfect match. Come meet this beautiful gentle giant and see if he’s meant to be part of your family. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 26, 2025, 4:52 pm
