Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Jess! This gorgeous guy came to DPR when his owners could no longer care for him due to dementia and heart surgery. Being in a shelter and then various foster homes has been very difficult on him. He sadly spends most of his time hiding and missing his previous owners. We were told that he is very affectionate and enjoys sitting on your lap and being pet. We have put him on our lap a few times and he does seem happy there. He'll need an understanding owner who will give him time to adjust. He has long, fluffy hair that is very soft. He gets along really great with all the cats and kittens in his foster home. Jess is looking for a loving home to heal his broken heart. This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $150 Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 1, 2026, 10:05 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Paris! Have you ever seen such a beautiful kitty?! She is a striking dilute calico with long fluffy hair and a wonderful personality to go along with her good looks. She is very affectionate and friendly and really enjoys being pet. She is good with the other cats and kittens she is being fostered with, and she gets along well with kids and dogs at her foster home too! She is about 2 years old. She runs to the door to greet you when you get home and she tells you all about her day. She is pretty calm and enjoys watching things from her chair. She's an awesome girl who will make a great addition to your home! She had a corneal ulcer/corneal opacity in her one eye which left a cloudy looking scar, but she does not require any medication, and she can see just fine! This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. Story
Buck is an extremely social little Floof. He was abandoned and came into our care with a severe hernia often we see l injuries like this after a cat is kicked. But he never wavered in his devotion to humans! His finders found him hiding in their grill and whiskered him into rescue with his sister Hazel! He is a lap cat for sure and suspected to be under a year old. He has fully recovered from his hernia surgery with out a hitch and he seems to be getting fluffier by the day!

Story
At just 7 months old, this sweet boy has already been through far more than he should have. After lots of patience and persistence, his trapper was finally able to convince his feeder to let a rescue step in and help him get safe and off the streets.Despite his rough start, he is an incredibly docile and loving kitten. He absolutely adores other cats after initial introductions and would thrive in a multi-cat household. He can be a little shy at first with new people or environments, but once he settles in, he’s the type of kitty who will curl up in bed with you at night and spend his days happily playing and hanging out nearby. He has a very sweet nature that shines through once he feels secure with his new family!Unfortunately, life outdoors has already taken a toll on his health. He has developed dental disease and gingivitis at a very young age and will eventually need a dental cleaning. He has also tested positive for FIV, but cats with FIV can still live long, happy, healthy lives and safely coexist with FIV negative cats in the home.We would love to find either a foster or forever home where he can finally relax, heal, and just be a kitten. As with any new cat, we recommend starting him off in a small, quiet space like a bathroom or spare room while he adjusts to his new surroundings and people. He’s ready for a fresh start and deserves so much better than the life he’s known so far.

Story
Dionne Pawick is a teen mom of two who is ready to retire from life on the streets! Her babies are ready to go off to forever homes and she doesn’t want to to get left behind! She is cat and dog friendly too! She would prefer a household with no more than four pets but she surely wouldn't mind being your one and only either! She's a little shadow kitty and will follow you around the house making sure she never misses a beat! Her foster mom wrote:Her personality is even more darling than her sweet cheeks. As soon as you sit down she gazes at you with permission to come aboard your lap. I can barely feel her dainty paws on me. I just want to give endless cuddles So she knows she’s safe. Her favorite toy is just about anything that wiggles. Such a good Mama too. Always letting the kittens take a turn with the feather wand toy. We would love to see her get adopted with her daughter Scuttles though it is not required. They make a cute pair and complement one another so nicely! Oh and did I mention they both love water?!
