Story
Celeste is a beautiful, purebred Maine Coon. She was surrendered to us very, very sick- sick to the point where she couldn't stand. She had an illness called FIP. Until recently, FIP was 100% fatal. There is a treatment now, but it is very expensive. We put Celeste through the entire treatment and she is now healthy, spayed, and ready to find a forever home. Celeste is a super sweet, friendly girl. She is inquisitive , and a typical Maine Coon in the way that she acts like a dog in a cat body. She does have an elevated adoption fee, just so we can cover the cost of the medical care that we put into her rehabilitation and help more animals.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Bobby! He's a sweet kitten who is about 7 months old. He insisted on squinting for all his pictures, which makes him look a bit unamused, but he is really a sweet and loving kitty. He is very friendly and affectionate. He was rescued from a shelter in North Caroline and made his way up to DPR in search for his forever home! He would curl up in bed with his foster dad every time he laid down. A definite cuddle bug that's for sure! He gets along great with the cats and dogs at his foster home. He's calm for a kitten and just an all around awesome guy!    This cat is neutered, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $250 Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 10, 2025, 12:03 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Celine! Celine and her sister, Rumi, were living with their owner in a car for several months before being surrendered to a shelter. They made their way to DPR after that. They are both very sweet and loving, gentle kitties. Rumi likes to find the highest point in the room to nap - she enjoys watching out over her kingdom from her cushy throne! Celine prefers to snuggle up on a cozy bed on floor level. They both have the cutest squishy faces - it looks like their aspect ratio was adjusted unevenly, but that's just how they look! They are very affectionate and love being pet and will rub up against you and give you head butts when you stop petting them. They would make a nice pair if you're looking for a sweet pair of kitties, but they would also be okay to be adopted to separate homes. They both get along great with all the other adult cats and kittens they are being fostered with! Very sweet and beautiful kitties!  This cat is spayed, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Jinu! This adorable little 4 month old kitten arrived at the shelter with a badly injured front left leg. They think maybe he was hit by a car. It was thought that he'd likely need an amputation, but thankfully with some x-rays, TLC, and physical therapy, it was determined that amputation was not necessary! He made a miraculous full recovery and now you'd never know it was even injured! He is a sweet and loving kitten who loves to be pet and snuggled. He is wonderful with the other cats and kittens at his foster home and does great with kids as well. Just an awesome little kitten all around, he'll make a wonderful addition to any home!  This cat is neutered, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative.
