While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Arlo is a sweet little guy, good with cats, dogs, older kids only due to his size. Just perfect for a lap! He is working on potty and leash training and socialization with the outside world. His adopter will need to continue this training. He loves rolling around in the grass and thinks it's amazing! It's been fun showing him the great big world out there. He is very treat motivated (loves veggies!) and knows sit. Arlo loves to run around and play with his 3 doggie foster sisters and toys. He has a sweet temperament and is puppy playful. Arlo is crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. We are requiring that he have another dog to play with and a fenced yard. He is very people oriented and is always at my side, so a stay at home person would be a bonus. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Well I was good enough as a puppy and now I am 1 and my owner wanted a new apartment that didn't allow me so she chose the apartment over me :( Momma Lynn said that's ok since she didn't bother to get me to a vet for vaccines or to be neuter'd Momma Lynn says I deserve much better and she said don't worry she will be very picky about who gets me next YAY!!! She said she won't send me to a home without a little dog to play with cause I really like having friends here!! She says I gotta lose those "family jewels" quick though because apparently I am a little "over the top" with being "friendly" Sooooo she is going to schedule my "nap time" (thats what Mike called it. He said you take a nap and when you wake up you are missing your "family jewels" but you don't care). OB 5-12-2019 Elias is a retired puppy mill worker, he was stuck in a cage for 5 years of his life from the time he was born. When he came he was so thin, his teeth were totally rotten and he couldn't eat. Well that was his old life, not his new life! Elias has been neutered, all teeth had to be removed, he was heartworm negative and is now on ProHeart6, up to date on all shots and has become a little on the porky side! Elias would love to have his own home now, something he never had hopes of is a reality for him now. Elias is crate trained, gets along with other little dogs, would love to be loved by someone who knew how special he is. Elias's adoption fee is 500.00, this transport fee is 165.00. Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 15 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! PLEASE HELP ME TO NOT HAVE TO SURRENDER BAXTER. He is not a puppy and will be hard to adopt out from a shelter. Baxter is good boy, he needs a lot of attention, proper grooming and vaccinations. He is a great protector of children and will guard them with his life. He may seem aggressive at first but as soon as he is introduced ( especially with treats ) he is the sweetest most cuddly affectionate dog you'll ever meet. He is also less prone to acting out around strangers when he has had plenty of exercise and attention. I should have surrendered him a long time ago as he deserves so.muvh more than my family can give at this time. My son is extremely attached to him so if we could still get updates on him that would mean so much to my little boy. Please consider adding Baxter to your family. To add, he has made friends with other dogs and is capable of doing so. He doesn't do well with unfamiliar dogs but he learns fast and can be trained.
