With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Enzo is a 9-pound Maltese, and Everest is a 7.5 pound toy Poodle. They were surrendered to our care when their elderly owner realized she had no one who could care for them if something happened to her. She clearly loved her boys and wanted to make sure they would always be safe.Sadly, Enzo and Everest had been living as outside dogs and had never experienced the comforts of living inside a home. Now that they have discovered soft beds, warmth, and indoor life, they absolutely love it! ??Both boys are happy little love bugs and have tested well with other dogs. Everest was also found to have an old, previously fractured jaw due to dental disease that has since healed. Because of this, he will need to remain on a soft food diet for the rest of his life, but it certainly doesn`t stop him from enjoying life.After spending their whole lives together, we want their next chapter to be together too. ?? I am a little timid because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The CSAC volunteer says that I am happy and friendly. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. Kobe is a 9-year-old Maltese mix weighing 22 pounds who is looking for the forever family he should have had all along. Sadly, Kobe was surrendered by his family to ACCT Philly because they no longer wanted to pay for his grooming. We quickly stepped in to bring him into our rescue, knowing this sweet senior deserved so much better. When Kobe arrived, he was in rough shape and clearly overdue for some TLC. Thanks to our wonderful groomer, he received a much-needed makeover and now looks and feels like a million bucks. Beneath all that neglected fur was a handsome little dog just waiting for a second chance. Kobe is understandably a bit shy right now, and honestly, who could blame him? He's been through a lot in a short period of time. Despite everything, he remains a sweet and gentle boy who is slowly adjusting to his new surroundings.
