Adoption Donation   $399 Located: RI  Age: approx   7 yrs  old Weight:  12  lbs.    Bailey a really sweet boy, but he's quirky and can have his grouchy moments! He doesn't like to be picked up, unless he fully trusts you. And he'll give a warning growl if you're petting him the wrong way. But he'll let you know when he wants to be pet by pawing at you. Since he's been with me he hasn't shown any resource guarding. He just wants to be loved and will cuddle in your lap on his own terms. He sleeps through the night and enjoys his daytime naps. He loves being outside in the yard and gets so excited to go for walks, even though he doesn't want to put his harness on. He plays well with other small dogs but will bark at bigger ones. For the most part he doesn't mind cats, just barks at them. He's not a fan of car rides, so he'll whine and sometimes let out a howl. Overall, he's an easy dog, and will make a great companion for the right person that has experience with small dogs that have a bit of an attitude/ Bailey would do best in an adult-only home with someone who is willing to go at his pace and continue helping him build confidence and trust. He isn’t the kind of dog who will fit into just any household but for the right person, Bailey has the potential to be an incredibly devoted companion. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Lady Luck is just under two years old and she's 35lbs of scruffy, bouncy perfection. Her beard game is unmatched and her big brown doe eyes will guilt you into doing anything and everything she wants. She's a bichon/terrier mix...which is where all the scruffy snuffleupagus-ness comes in.She can be wary of new people at first but once she warms up to you, boom. She's gonna imprint on you like a baby duck and be OBSESSED with you. She likes to pretend that she doesn't know how to play fetch. She absolutely knows how to play fetch. She's, like, a fetch expert. She just likes to try and hustle you.She LOVES car rides! She's good on a leash but does get the zoomies. She loves our agility course and will zoom up and down the ramps all day. She does well with other dogs and is terrified of cats but may do well with a dog-savvy cat that won't bully her.She is not a fan of small children or having her beard/mouth touched. She will attempt to push boundaries and be a brat but she listens to corrections very well, she's SUPER smart, and she's the best sunshine princess in all the land. She's the absolute happiest girl in the world and almost always has that big goofy smile on her face.This dog will LITERALLY be your best friend.
