Story
DOB 6-11-2025 This gorgeous little boy named Natan is a sweetheart. He is a little shy, gets along with other little dogs, loves to play and is social. Natan is up to date on shots and a healthy boy! Natan's adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they run every other week to their stops on the East Coast. They are the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
OB 5-12-2019 Elias is a retired puppy mill worker, he was stuck in a cage for 5 years of his life from the time he was born. When he came he was so thin, his teeth were totally rotten and he couldn't eat. Well that was his old life, not his new life! Elias has been neutered, all teeth had to be removed, he was heartworm negative and is now on ProHeart6, up to date on all shots and has become a little on the porky side! Elias would love to have his own home now, something he never had hopes of is a reality for him now. Elias is crate trained, gets along with other little dogs, would love to be loved by someone who knew how special he is. Elias's adoption fee is 500.00, this transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, the only one we use for our kids! The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. Story
Adoption Donation  $ 399 Located: RI(Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Breed: Maltese Age: approx 10 years old Weight: 8  lbs. Do you have a soft spot for a little dog who needs some extra love? What a difference just one week makes! Little Boomer, a 10-year-old, 8-lb Maltese, entered his foster home a week ago skittish and scared. His foster family has been gently working with him to build trust, and he’s responding beautifully. Just a week ago, he would run and hide when anyone approached him. Now, he waits patiently, knowing that being held feels safe and secure. When his foster mom picks him up, he nuzzles his little face into her neck and his whole body relaxes. Boomer, affectionately called “Mouse” by his foster family, originally came from Mississippi where he was used for breeding until he was no longer valuable. Now he’s looking for a quiet, loving home where he can finally receive all the love he deserves. Boomer is wonderful with other dogs. His foster family has three gentle pups, and he gets along with everyone. He would love a home where someone is around more often than not, as he does get a little sad when his people first leave. He’d be happy with other calm dogs, but he would also do just fine as an only pet if someone is home most of the time—such as someone who works from home or a retiree. When Boomer first arrived at his foster home in Rhode Island, he chose to sleep on a dog bed on the floor next to his foster mom and dad. After a couple of days, his favorite place became a pillow quietly tucked between them. He’s a very considerate roommate and doesn’t make a peep all night. Boomer is doing well with house training, though he’s not a fan of going out when it’s wet. On rainy days, he’s happy to use puppy pads. The ideal home for Boomer will be patient and understanding—people who will give him the time he needs to continue building trust and won’t take it personally as he decompresses from a difficult past. Boomer is up to date on all his vetting and is neutered and microchipped. If you believe every dog deserves a soft landing and a second chance, Boomer is waiting for you. This tiny boy has already come so far in just one week—imagine how he will blossom with a family of his own.    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  lisa.foha@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent.
