The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Pamela is a playful, affectionate girl with a heart full of love and energy to share. She is working on learning commands and becoming a very well behaved young pup.  She is excellent in her crate trained and leash also. She gets a little nervous in the car making her drool a bit.  Not a huge fan of the car, but we have a feeling she can get used to it slowly.   She's ready to bring fun, laughter, and endless tail wags to her forever family. Beanie is a tiny, precious little boy with a beautiful white coat, soulful eyes, and an adorable face. At nine years old, he deserves nothing more than a peaceful, comfortable home where he can finally experience the love, security, and companionship every dog deserves. Beanie has no teeth, so he will need a family who understands his needs and can provide an appropriate soft diet. Having no teeth does not mean he has any less love to give, and we hope someone will see beyond his age and recognize what a special little companion he could be. Oso and Moon Pie are a bonded pair on the search for their new home - together! Both Oso and Moon Pie are cute as can be, full of personality, and eager to start the next chapter. They hope it's full of walks in the sunshine, toys, treats, and cuddles from their humans. Oso and Moon Pie may do okay with other mellow dogs, but we don't know if they've ever met cats. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Oso and Moon Pie can be nervous with new people and new situations, so they will likely do best in a calm, predictable home with just teens and adults.
