Story
Shaylee is a 6 year old, 5 pound Maltese. She is very shy and will need someone with patience who isn’t going to give up on her. We have no idea what she’s been through, but what we do know for sure is that is she super sweet. Shaylee will need a bit of patience with potty training. She been using a pee pad, but her, but her foster mom has been working with her to do her business outside. She gets along with her foster mom’s dogs and cats. We would not we would not suggest apartment living since she barks when left alone. Shaylee has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations and is on heartworm/flee/tick meds. Story
Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!  To sponsor my trip to WI, go to  www.tailwaggers911.com  for more info!   ***I am able to go home to my forever family right from transport!! You get a 5 day Foster-to-Adopt trial with me in your home. Please note that Foster-to-Adopt trials are offered at the rescue's discretion and may be limited or declined in cases of repeated returns or misuse of the program.***   Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on October 23rd and arrive on October 24th, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!!   Updated: 9/22/26 Dog Name: Mojo Sex: Male Estimated Breed: Maltese Mix Approximate Age: 8 years  Approximate Weight: 10-14 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered Adoption Fee: $350 Description: Mojo was surrendered by a backyard breeder, unfortunately this is the fate of many dogs in the south. When they are of no more use, they are no longer wanted in the home. This sweet soul was timid at first but is warming up and learning that people can be kind. He does well with other dogs and kids who respect his space. Mojo will need a patient family who will adore him forever. We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. October 6, 2026, 4:09 am

Story
MEET STUART LITTLE!Tiny body. HUGE heart.??????????????????????How can you look at this little face and not fall in love? ??Stuart is a 9-month-old Maltipoo weighing 5.5 pounds, but this little guy has already been through more than any puppy should.??Stuart came into animal control as a stray weighing only 3.4 pounds. He was a tangled, matted and underweight little mess when he arrived. But with some love, good food, care and TLC, Stuart is blossoming into the happy little puppy he was always meant to be. ??And his personality? Absolutely adorable!?? Loves everyone—including kids?? Loves to snuggle?? Loves playing with toys?? Loves playing with other dogs?? Has the funniest, quirkiest little bark?? Tiny at 5.5 pounds, but BIG on personality!??WHY STUART LITTLE?We named him Stuart Little because the heart of Stuart’s character is so fitting for this little guy:“It’s not the size of the mouse, but the size of his heart.”????????????????????Stuart may be a little guy facing a big world, but he does it with courage, kindness, loyalty and a wonderful sense of adventure.??And that is exactly who our Stuart is. ????He doesn’t need someone to focus on where he started.??He needs someone who will look at this tiny boy and see the enormous heart inside him—and love him for all the adventures still ahead.??Stuart Little will be available after Oct 12th????BEFORE YOU APPLY??When adopting a young dog, we ask families to consider the dog’s age in relation to their own. This isn’t about excluding people based solely on age. It’s about making thoughtful, lifelong matches.??Small dogs like Stuart can live well into their teens, so we encourage potential adopters to think about where they will be in 10–15 years.??Our goal isn’t simply to find Stuart a home.??Our goal is to find him the RIGHT home—the one that will love him for his entire life.??If you think Stuart Little might be your perfect companion, please fill out an application at ??WWW.NBSTR.ORG??He may be little… but his heart is BIG enough to fill a forever home.??Fostered in Southeastern WI

Story
About Me: Name:  Coconut Breed (or best guess): Maltese or Maltese-Poodle Approximate Age: DOB 10/22/18 Gender: F Approximate Weight: 8 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving, patient family, fenced yard and another dog is best Why In Rescue: puppy mill survivor Profile:   Coconut came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use her for breeding.  She is a shy but friendly girl who is going to need some time to learn to be social with human. She is learning to trust and as she is with us more we will work on things like leash walking, but right now just getting her more socialized and use to living around people is what we work on. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS October 4, 2026, 5:40 pm

Story
T-Bone is an adorable 8 year old Maltese with a sweet, gentle personality and a heart that just wants to be close to his people.  He's a cuddly little companion who loves being near you and has a wonderful way of making you feel like his favorite person in the world.   T-Bone is also good with other dogs, making him a great little buddy for a home with other canine friends.  He's affectionate and playful and has that special Maltese charm that makes it hard not to fall in love with him. T-Bone may not be a puppy anymore, but that just means you get to skip the puppy stage and go straight to the best part- the love, companionship, and loyalty of a wonderful little dog. He has a wonderful balance of playful personality and calm companionship.  He's the kind of dog who would happily curl up beside you, follow you around the house, and simply enjoy being a part of your everyday life. He is a breeder release and is learning how much fun it is to be a dog. He does best sleeping in bed as he’s knows his person is right there.  He’s so tiny and is a very good sleeper ! T-Bone is ready for his forever home where he can be cherished, spoiled, and loved as much as he deserves.  If you're looking for a li8ttle companion with a big heart, T-Bone may be your perfect match. Story
Meet Amber Amber is a 5-year-old Maltese weighing just 10 pounds, looking for a loving forever home through Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue. Amber came from a puppy mill, so she is still learning that people can be kind and trustworthy. She can be timid at first, but she is making progress every single day with patience, love, and gentle encouragement. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially loves her best friend, Betty. The two of them run and play in the fields together and are constant companions indoors and outdoors. Because she loves the companionship and confidence she gains from other dogs, Amber would do best in a home with another friendly companion dog. Amber uses puppy pads, rides nicely in the car without getting sick, and takes treats very gently from your hand. She also enjoys curling up in your lap and being softly petted. Amber is still gaining confidence, so she will need a calm, patient home that understands she needs time to fully blossom after the years she spent in a puppy mill. She is also considered a flight risk, so a physically fenced yard is required for her safety. Invisible/electric fences will not be considered. In return, you’ll get to watch a sweet little soul learn what love truly feels like. If you are interested in giving Amber the second chance she deserves, please fill out an adoption application with Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue. Amber is located in Rockford, IL with Kathy Mehalko.
