Hello! My name is Shelby! I’m a 4.5 year old Maltese. I was rescued from a puppy mill not too long ago. At first I was terrified of people and I still am a little… I used to spend the whole day trying to escape the back yard. Now I go out with my foster brother and sister and come back with them. I’m a pack member and I dig it! My BFF is a 65 point German Shorthair Pointer. I love him. I discovered toys and they are so much fun! I sleep with my foster mom most nights but once in a while I sneak out to the couch. I am working on potty training… some days are good and some days aren’t great. What do you expect? I’ve spent my whole life in a cage until recently. I’ve come so far in the past month! Every day I get braver, sillier and joyful. I’m still learning about walking on a leash, but I’m doing pretty good! I absolutely need a fenced yard, this is a nonnegotiable. I would do best in a home with adults or respectful kids over 12. I think it might be nice to have another dog to help show me the ropes and build trust with my new family. I’m not perfect, who is? But I sure am cute! I can’t wait to meet you! I am located in Morton Grove IL with my foster and have an adoption fee of $550.

Meet Wo'i (pronounced "Woy")! This Maltese is looking for his furever family. About him: He is 1-2 yrs old Will be completely vetted and neutered He's docile. Non-biter. Seldom barks. He gets along good with dogs and cats and PREFERS having pet siblings. His potty pad training is going quite well. Those puffy paws don't make any noise.  He doesn't mind his nails clipped, hair cut, or soothing warm baths. Musts: A fenced back yard. Prefer experienced with dogs with past abuse (puppy mill dog) Patience to warm up to people. Crates himself for security and sleep. (Currently wire crate.) Please read entire description before submitting an application. Goofy is a 5-year-old Maltese mix who has never had any formal training, but he’s smart and will learn with the right guidance. Goofy needs a patient and experienced dog owner who can provide structure and positive reinforcement to help him thrive. Because of his lack of training and tendency to be stubborn, Goofy cannot be in a home with children though he gets along well with other dogs. He needs a calm, adult-only environment where he can feel safe and secure. A single-family home or townhome would be ideal, giving him space to settle in comfortably. Goofy will need an owner committed to working with a professional dog trainer to help him build confidence and learn good manners. With time, consistency, and love, Goofy has the potential to be a wonderful companion. If you have the experience and dedication to help Goofy become his best self, he just might be the perfect pup for you!
