Adoption Donation: $450 Shy is a beautiful girl with a stunning brindle coat and a gentle, sensitive soul. True to her name, she can be a little shy at first and may need a minute to warm up to new people. But once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. Shy loves affection and will happily lean into you for pets once she trusts you. She has such a tender heart and just wants to be close to someone who cares about her. She came to us when her owner sadly became homeless, and the change has been scary for her. Shy is simply looking for a safe, loving home again — a place where she can relax, feel secure, and be someone’s beloved companion. With a little patience and kindness, Shy will reward you with quiet loyalty and lots of love. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Alert! Big dog lovers, we have the perfect Tall dog for you! Enter: Joan Crawford, our 155 pound, 5 year old, Mastiff! This beautiful lady joined TNT as a breeder release and she is currently acclimating to life inside a home. So far, Joan has been incredibly calm and takes her time observing her new surroundings, including resident dogs and cats in her foster home. She’s still getting the hang of basic things, like crate/potty/leash training, but with encouragement she can be convinced! Joan will need a patient home with adopters who have experience with large breed dogs. Her ideal people will move at her pace and enjoy watching her progress toward learning to be a family dog. We promise, it will be so worth it to see her blossom! Joan Crawford's adoption fee is $550 which does include the cost of her gastropexy

Story
Meet Mia Bella! 🐾 Mia Bella is a beautiful 2-year-old Boxer/Mastiff mix weighing 66 pounds. This sweet girl came to Anderson Humane from a partner shelter in Louisiana alongside her nine puppies. Now that her puppies are growing up, it's finally Mia Bella's turn to find the loving forever home she deserves. Mia Bella is a gentle, easygoing companion with a heart full of love. She may take a little time to feel comfortable with new people—especially men—but once you've earned her trust, she'll be your biggest fan. Cuddles, affection, and spending time by your side are some of her favorite things, and her serious expression is simply deceiving—deep down, she just wants to be your best friend. This lovely girl enjoys treats, toys, and relaxing outside, soaking up the fresh air at her own pace. She's crate-trained, potty-trained, and wonderfully quiet, making her an easy addition to the home. Mia Bella is also a fast learner who loves to please and is already making great progress with cues like sit, paw, down, and stay. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with endless love and cuddles, Mia Bella is ready to steal your heart. When Mia Bella arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter, she tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Mia Bella to recover and complete treatment is in a loving forever home. If you choose to adopt Mia Bella, our clinic staff will support you every step of the way by answering questions and providing guidance throughout her treatment. The process generally takes about three months and involves some simple at-home care to help keep her safe while she recovers. The final step is a follow-up test six months after treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and the staff anticipates that Mia Bella will make a full recovery! It's also important to know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal through mosquito bites. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion with lots of love to give, Mia Bella is ready to meet you! Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Story
Meet Sam! Sam is a very handsome pup, estimated at about 3 years old. He’s thought to be a Mastiff Mix, but, rather small for the breed. Sadly, Sam found himself at an overcrowded noisy animal control facility down south. He deserves a forever home and family of his own, and we want to help him get there!! This precious pup absolutely loves people and is good with older kids who are respectful of dogs. We expect he is good with lower energy dogs. Dogs who are too active might scare him and cause him to react. Sam absolutely loves belly rubs, and treats too! He's a little rough around the edges in terms of training but clearly is eager to learn. Sam is in overall good physical shape however he does have some vision issues causing him to sometimes miss things coming his way….this is why we expect he’d be scared by higher energy dogs, and high-activity youngsters. Sam is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. We would still like to get Sam to an eye specialist for a comprehensive examination of his eyes/vision. If you’d like to add Sam to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Meet Rave! Raves story was heartbreaking- abandoned in a cemetery in Aruba with her six newborn puppies, only to have them stolen the very next morning. But this resilient girl didn't let tragedy define her. Today, Rave is a joyful, energetic sweetheart who's ready for a fresh start with a family that truly sees her. At around 65 pounds, Rave is a gorgeous, playful companion who's just discovered the joy of retrieving and she will happily entertain herself for hours with her favorite toys. Shes leash-trained, well-mannered, and loves a good car ride. Whether shes romping in the yard or curling up after a day of play, she brings a spark of happiness wherever she goes. However, she prefers to be an only dog. She appears to be a Dane or Mastiff mix. Rave would thrive in a home with plenty of space to stretch her legs - big yard or farm would be ideal. Shes looking for someone who appreciates her zest for life and is ready to give her the love shes always deserved. Ready to give Rave her happily ever after? Shes waiting to meet you. NOTE: This is a courtesy partner post for Paws Path to Furever Rescue.
